Have everyone store their coats in their own closet with a spot so that everyone can hang up only ONE coat near the door so it can dry out after use. My shoes and coats stay in my bedroom with only one of each out at a time drying/airing out after use. Usually first thing in the morning I go put yesterday’s shoes and coats away.
Yes I store my shoes in my bedroom except for several pairs that I am using during the day other than that they are all in the bedroom. The dress coats of your husbands I would store in his closet because he’s probably not using them very often
Omg Sonya!!! Why did I not think of that 🤦♀️🤦♀️ Seriously the BEST suggestion I have received!! Thank you. I was going to donate that shoe rack and decided to wait. I’m so glad I held on to it. You just made my day because now we can have boots easy access and they won’t be cluttering up the house. Appreciate you 🤗🤗🤗
I was thinking that the secret storage containers in the half walls between your front door and living room might be a perfect place for bowling bag storage. Thanks for letting us be a part of your journey. You're totally rocking this decluttering thing!
Your smile ,laugh, hellos, and omgs cheer me up every time!I love watching someone who is real.Being real encourages the rest of us that we are not alone and we can do this! Thank you so much!
My 1.5 year old and I watch your videos together. I absolutely love this little “tradition.” The best part is when you laugh. Everytime you laugh she laughs! It’s the best!! Have a wonderful day!
Maybe build a shallow shoe shelves on the laundry room wall??? Bulkier big shoes like winter boots in the far corner to save space, thinner shoes near the door, store one of each on a shelf, one in front of the other, hopefully that makes sense…
Michigan! Grand Rapids girl here! I bought baskets at Dollar Tree, WalMart, etc for the shoes. Everyone's shoes live on shelves in the garage just outside the back door. Everyone is allowed ONE pair of shoes in the house (unless the shoes are in a bedroom closet). I have decluttered my shoes down to ONE pair of sneakers and ONE pair of winter boots! I don't have an office job where I need fancy shoes, so one pair for me!
I grew up in Wisconsin and we had a walk through hallway on the main floor with two hooks on the wall for everyone (family of 7). The top hook was for the current jacket we were wearing, and the bottom for backpacks. Anything extra we kept in our rooms and switched them out as we needed them. Might work for your family to do something similar. 😊
I am so OCD that matching hangers do matter to me. I have found that thin, velvet hangers make for more room on the rack and clothes hang better. Your house is looking beautiful 😍
Yes I know it makes a world of difference for some people. I’m glad you found the ones that work for you Melissa ❤️❤️ If it holds my items I want to hang that’s good enough for me 😂
That was brilliant. Both closets are very functional now, well done 👏 The vertical shoe storage is a fantastic idea. I don’t think you need a bench for the shoes now. Oh yes get rid of those shoes (even though I hold on the stuff after it past it’s use) because you’ve a lovely new pair. The picture in your daughters bag 😆🤣 Your cat is adorable. Stay safe and healthy. Mary, Joes wife 👏👍💐🐈⬛
Oh my gosh, I am the exact same way as far as buying myself anything. It takes a real lot for me to spend money on myself. I buy a lot for the house and of course for my family but rarely for myself. And my daughter for Mother's Day last year bought me shoes because I am the same way. My kids have so many pairs of shoes and tell me all the time to have a bunch but I say I can only wear one pair at a time and that's all I need. I have a few pairs of slippers and one pair of boots, one of dress shoes, and until my daughter gave me the sneakers she didn't want because we're the same size so I have a bunch of pairs plus the new pair she bought me. I think you did great with swapping out those closets. I think it makes sense to have coats near the door that you use to come in and out of the house for sure. I have my vacuum in a closet but I do have my swiffers and things like that hanging on those hangers along with the brooms, mops, etc. on the wall going down the basement. All I have to do is open the basement door in my downstairs hall, which is next to my laundry area and just grab it and then hang it back up. I don't know if you have access like that going into your basement but that's where I decided on putting ours. It works for us. I love that bench that you showed in the picture for shoes. That's really nice. I have a bench in our mud area but it's just for sitting and putting boots on with three small cubbies underneath, which we do have a few pairs in those cubbies but otherwise we have Weather Tech boot mats, I think that's what they're called, and that's where we just line up the shoes we're using. All other shoes and coats go in our bedroom closets. I always tell my family, one coat downstairs at a time. If you're not using it, put it in the bedroom closet. And my son has this huge shoe rack in his room because he's always buying the latest and greatest Nike sneakers, which I don't understand but that's his deal. My kids are obsessed for some reason with shoes and neither me or my husband are so I don't know where they get that from. I love your laundry area. My laundry area is behind two sets of bifold doors and there are some shelves in there and room for my ironing board and a lot of my cleaning supplies but it's not an actual room. That's one thing I wish I did differently when we built but it is what it is. I think yours is pretty though and love the white. It's so bright and cheery in there especially having the window. Well glad you were able to do that and I think that was a great idea. Have a fantastic rest of your week Jodi! By the way, since you put the boots away you may have jinxed yourself and you'll get this huge snowstorm. LOL. I'm hoping not but that does seem to happen to me. When I think it's safe to put away the gloves, hats, scarves, etc. we get this blast of cold air for a week and I need to drag everything back out. I know Michigan does get a lot of snow but I don't think here in the northeast we're too far behind you, and in fact, sometimes may even get worse storms when we get those ones that come up the coast that they call nor'easters. OK, I was going to end and I typed more and more. Again, have an awesome Thursday and Friday, and I'll be sure to watch you and Sarah shop on your other channel later this week!
Nancy yes I’m always making sure everyone has everything they need I just can’t buy myself new things most of the time. Working on that though ❤️ Oh I sure hope not! I am so ready for spring and I don’t want to pull the boots upstairs again this season 😂
Great job! The excitement is contagious! I am decluttering along with the 2022 challenge. I started 2-10-22 and today I donated piece # 675. I think I’ll need 2 tracker sheets! I’m am currently donating to a women’s shelter. They have been so appreciative of the items. Lessens my guilt of donating “new” or never used items.
Loved this. Isn’t it nice to go over spaces and get even more stuff to go. Thought this was going to be a Tom free video, but the little beauty popped up at the end. Made me smile after a long day at work. Xx
Omg! I was like shouting in my head "use the vertical space you have" and a second later u put the plastic racks for the shoes. It all came out amazing.😍😍😍
Hi Jodi, Your greeting makes me smile each time I watch your video. Thank you for being real and showing us we're human, striving for progress not perfection.
Love your energy, love your curls and love your highlights, I don't think the clearing out ever ends, I have been doing it for 3 years and i finally no longer drop off to the goodwill every week, in fact I haven't had to get rid of anything in a month, there is light at the end
Your transparency is freeing for us too. Thanks for sharing, Jodi! Gotta a few questions for you: How are you doing keeping the decluttered areas clean? Has it been easier? Have you started some routines to help keep it all under control? Is the family pitching in and helping to keep order?
OMG, I am that person who hangs on to shoes waaaaaay too long. I hate breaking in new shoes so when they’re comfortable and well loved it’s hard to say goodbye 😂 I actually can’t throw away a pair of shoes without using them as backyard shoes first. By the time I’ve done the weeding in them for a few months it really is time to say farewell 🤪🤣
I'd take off the door and do hooks and a bench and a shelf in the laundry room. You can put your husbands rarely used coats in his closet! Do u have a wall u could put current coats and backpacks on?
Great job!! I also live in the Midwest. When it gets warmer I have started to take all of the huge winter coats and I put them in 2-3 big vacuum bags. When they shrink down it’s amazing what little storage space they take-you can easily store in the garage or basement. Like you, I also store the bulky boots in a large bin each spring. Maybe after you get into the garage, the bowling ball bags can also be stored out there if you have a shelving unit. Love your enthusiasm and honesty!!!!!
These closets look awesome!!! I totally understand wearing old shoes and clothes because you went through a time you couldn’t afford it. Its a hard mentality to get out of. I loved all your close up angles of the floor dust 👌🏻 chefs kiss 💋 I appreciate your filming efforts and sharing all of that with us 😋❤️
Hello Jodi New subscriber here !! I am living in Sweden 🇸🇪 but from the UK and I lived in NJ USA for 12 years ... Before i comment on the video i just want to say how amazing you are and you are beautiful, and lovely ,your soooo funny you put a little happy in my day 😀and you are an inspiration to a lot of people..regarding the video just a suggestion when you move the basket of balls and helmets from the closet to garage maybe put another 2 more of them tall shoe racks in there and put the shoes from the rack by window in the closet and you can keep winter shoes in there in the summer months and summer shoes in laundry closet and then swap around each season and keep a tub in the hall on shelve to keep gloves ,hats ect ..hope it makes sense and sorry for a long explanation.Have a wonderful day x P.s I have been binge watching your channel ...👌👍👏🌺💖 FANTASTIC !!!!
I swap jackets and coats out too. Snow pants, and parkas really squish down in those vacuum storage bags, then I toss them in the garage. That vertical shoe rack is awesome!
Dont worry . I had a shock opening my pantry cupboard last week. We used to keep dog food at the bottom and theres a gap under the door so when the back door opens all sorts of dust or whatever blows in. X x
Great job, Jodi! Love that you were able to move stuff around to work better for you! What a hilarious surprise when you cleaned out your daughter's bag. Never known anyone to do a senior pic quite like that. HAHA
i love when your daughter asked what you were laughing at and you said "nothing!" I rotate coats and I'm in NC. When the hooks get crowded, I move them all to the closet. Then as we actually use a coat it goes back on the hooks.
Yay! It looks so good! Karrie Lynn just did a closet makeover, and she talked about closet rods :) So I don't know what they're called, but there are these hangers that you can put like 5 items on and then let it drop on one side to hang everything diagonally! I had a few back in the day for my tiny closet :) They're back in style on Amazon.
They were completely dry since they haven’t been used in over a week. But that’s a great idea for if I do have to pull them out and store them back again. Thanks Amanda ❤️
Great progress! Can’t tell you how many times I’ve swapped closets and other storage areas around. I look at all of them as real estate and ask what do I need at hand in the prime real estate? /If you didn’t toss those sketchers, did you know you can wash in washer and dry them in the dryer? I have a pair that I paid $89 for about 11 years ago. They are still going strong (except bottoms are getting a bit bare) and I wear them daily. They get washed like evey other month or if they get dirty from the garden. I just wish I could find another pair. Have never had a pair of shoes that fit my feet so perfectly arch and width wise. None of the new sketchers feel the same. 🤨 hugs em
Hi Jodi, I love your energy, loving the decluttering and home upgrades. I did the kon mari method a few years ago and now am trying to constantly let go of stuff that I have been accumulating over the years. Hello from near Toronto, Ontario, Canada
It’s so amazing how much a small space can transform and become more functional. I love the vertical shoe rack. I’ve never seen one of those before. I’m glad I don’t have to worry about snow. We don’t own bulky jackets but we love ourselves some hoodies! I started switching out our plastic hangers for the thinner felt ones in hopes it gave me more space. So far so good. My issue is holding onto clothes because my weight changes like the seasons.🥴😂 I have skinny clothes, “normal” clothes, and fluffy clothes. I’m ready for anything. Lol I have too many. So many that this past fall I put all my summer clothes in storage bins for the winter. I really need to go thru my clothes and thank them for the joy they brought me and say bye. Hahaha
I just watched your video! Have you thought about getting 1 of those rolling wardrobe racks that you can zip up? Maybe put it in the basement and change the seasons out as you need them and your closets will look a little more decluttered. They look great! I love watching your videos!
It looks like those rolling racks you see in the clothing stores. I think you can get one that has a zip up cover for it. But I'm not positive. It was just a thought since you said you guys had so many coats. :-)
You did an awesome job. I just love your laugh. You made me laugh with you when I saw your old shoes. I do the same thing. I love them even if they have holes, they are my go to shoes. (Secretly I'm waiting for someone to take pity on me ha ha). Can't wait for warmer weather too. I'm telling everyone that you said that we're not going to have any more snow. Love you!💞
Nancy don’t you dare tell everyone I said that! I’ll have a mob beating down my fort if we get a big snow storm 🤣🤣🤣 Gosh I do sure hope we are done with winter though. I’m so ready for spring, sun abs warmth 🌞
I love the idea of everyone keeping their extra coats in their own closet when not in season (especially once they are all decluttered). I'm in northern Ontario, so we store ours in the basement in labeled bins, which forces us to rotate and purge! But with the dust...
Yes the dust deters me from storing much in the basement 😂😂 But if you like the idea of storing in bedroom closets Sammy you should definitely try that out ❤️
I love Sketchers, too! Super comfy. When mine start to look like they need to be tossed, I pre spot them, toss them in the washer and set them out to dry. The result is pretty amazing!
👋🏾 Hello from a fellow Michigander! I'm hoping your no more snow prediction comes true, I think we've had our fair share. I think you did an awesome job with the closets & I hope that it works out long-term.
Another job well done Jodi, I have a family of 5, finding space for coats and shoes is one of my biggest frustrations, why oh why do we need so dang many uuuggghh 😀 keep going lovely lady, your doing great 👍
Those old worn shoes are great to use for outside yard work. I have a pair that look like that that I use when I am mowing grass or painting or anything like that
I added flat peices of wood with big hooks all the way around closet for coats. Easier than hanging. Have a clear bin above for hats and one for gloves.
I like you so much bc we are very similar! Lol! I keep a lot of stuff bc I think what if I can't afford it when I need it! My gma & daddy passed away 7 months apart when I was 18. I kept so much of their stuff bc I felt guilty letting it go. Once I did several years later it was such a relief! I also have spaces that have been neglected too and are dusty 😅 you are making a lot of progress and keep inspiring me to do better! ❤
Well Brittany I like you a lot too ❤️❤️ It’s truly comforting to know my challenges are shared with other friends and I’m not the only one that keep life straight 😂 Oh I bet that was a huge weight lifted! Kudos to you for letting things go that are sentimental in anyway. It’s so hard!
Hello Jodi 🤗 It must’ve been nice to have a lot of closets and all that spaces you have in that house. Must be nice especially us couponers dreaming of shelves and spaces to put our stockpiles to. Just love watching your videos so motivating 😉
I put seasonal coats upstairs off season. Hangers😜 no wire hangers lol all white for me, black for my husband😂 I have OCD😊 my daughter also and everything in closet facing same way ha
Margie I LOVE it. I’m always so in awe of people that have everything matchy matchy and so uniform. I used to think there was something wrong with me because I didn’t. Now I know I just don’t give a hoot about that stuff 😂
I also grew up having to help running the house because my parents owned a restaurant, family of 9 kids!(blended) my stepmom cracked the “whip” when I grew up I realized she wasn’t that great of a housekeeper lol but my dad and mom were perfectionists, hard acts to follow, I’ve been cursed!😂
Nice job, Jodi! Your decluttering muscles are getting stronger for sure. I didn’t even know there are different types of bowling balls. 😂 Go ahead and tell yourself you are worthy of nicer shoes than those Skechers and let them go. I bet the donation man was like “wait…where’s my friend this week?” 😂
I decluttered my laundry room closet last week! There wasn't to much in there, just random stuff on the top. It was super dusty but I think its from the dryer 🤣 I went through all the cabinets and drawers cleaned and brought up laundry supplies from my stockpile. Also decluttered a built-in TV cabinet in my bedroom that holds random clutter because all my TV's are very large TV's and the cabinets under it hold all my sheets and curtains. I had 3 garbage bags of just those I took to donation. I took a total of 7 bags out of my house last week! Today I'm prepping to put up a board and batten wall lol which ball did you buy? We bought my daughter a 12lb Hammer but she is in weight lifting 3x's a week. We will have to buy her a new heavier ball soon.
Oh my gosh Ash 7 bags!! That is amazing 😍😍👏👏👏 Oh yes she will definitely need a heavier ball. I’m a weakling with no arm muscles and 14lb is good for me 😂
I fully enjoy your videos! I have a suggestion for your large closet regarding hanging your brooms etc. Just add another piece of wood of the same size to fill the gap and then attach your hanging device. That should give enough continuous space for what you need. Keep up the great job and now I'm off to clean out a closet😁
As a suggestion, could everyone store their coats in thier own closets? And keep the one out that they use everyday? I agree that the other closet is so small. But, it would save so much space in the closet you need for all of the large cleaning appliances/products.
Why don't you store the boot rack in the basement until next winter and put the boots back on it in the laundry room or garage for winter? We have wire shelves in our garage right by the door into the house where my husband keeps most of his shoes and I keep my walking and gardening shoes and rain and snow boots. Works good for the two of us.
I am decluttering the Puppet workshop series I bring from school to school. I realized how much harder I am making it on myself bringing things that I don’t need to bring. Streamlining!
Your laundry closet is about the size of my linen closet. Its tiny but i make it work. In some ways smaller spaces force you to be organized and only store what is necessary. Its really surprising how little we need.
Hi Jodi, I love watching your content and I can't wait for your next video! Regarding your jacket situation: Do you know of vacuum bags? I cannot recall if you mentioned them already, or if other viewers already recommended them to you? You could put the jackets that aren't needed during different seasons in them and store them in those. You basically put clothes (or other stuff like bedding, towels, etc.) in them and suck out all the air with your vacuum cleaner which makes it really compact and easier to store on a top shelf of a closet, for example. I use them for extra bedding for guests and winter jackets because I live in a small flat with very limited place for storing. Greetings from Germany.
Random thought, if you put the shoe organizers separated t ok either side, you could just slide the bowling bag in the center without fighting the door.
What if you added on to that piece of wood holding the rod, extending it all the way to the front of the closet? Then you could mount a broom/mop holder to it? Also, I would keep just the coats of the season in the laundry room, and the off season coats in the foyer closet. We have the same bowling ball problem! I just decluttering two of our balls. We keep ours in the way back of our car during bowling season, in the basement in the off season. Loved this video - great job!
Thank you husband ! I'm like Jodi !!! Swap the shelves with the bowling bowl lol !!! I love ❤️,sketchers and converse but as some as the inside are crap in the trash they go. I call it the princess and the pea syndrome, I swear I can fell the craters in the soles 😆. Ps im still removing wallpaper backing. I'll be done some time by the end of summer 🤣😂
That's what we do. We have one coat each hanging in the mudroom.
Yes I store my shoes in my bedroom except for several pairs that I am using during the day other than that they are all in the bedroom. The dress coats of your husbands I would store in his closet because he’s probably not using them very often
Lol I had shoes like those two but I made myself throw them away, I had a hard time leaving them in the trash thank goodness the average man came soon
I have that system too..it works well and leaves room for visitorscoats at the same time.
Maybe you could keep the shoe rack in the garage near the door & keep the winter boots there.
Omg Sonya!!! Why did I not think of that 🤦♀️🤦♀️
Seriously the BEST suggestion I have received!! Thank you. I was going to donate that shoe rack and decided to wait. I’m so glad I held on to it. You just made my day because now we can have boots easy access and they won’t be cluttering up the house. Appreciate you 🤗🤗🤗

Rebecca I would love that! Those spaces are so small and narrow the bowling bags wouldn’t fit 😊
So funny, ALMOST what I thought: the half walls might be the perfect place for the wintershoes maybe?
Your home has taken on a whole new vibe and looks beautiful. So fitting for a beautiful person like yourself 🥰
Thank you so much Jan ❤️❤️❤️

Broom clip holders hold the handle anywhere at the top or middle of the handle. They would work just fine in that closet. The switch was a great idea
Thanks JoAnn ❤️
Excited to be here early. Having been waiting all morning. Hope you have great week. Thank you for a great video.
Hi Tori 🤗

So happy you are enjoying my videos ❤️
Thank you for the amazing deals each week! I always look forward to your videos!
All those coats, jackets & boots make me glad I live in Florida 🙀 very motivating 👍
Yes you wouldn’t need all that in Florida 🌞❤️

Thank you Cherie ❤️
Decluttered areas are always so much easier to clean!
Hello! So excited to see a new video! Good thinking on the closet swap. Makes so much sense.
Thank you so much. So happy I switched it ❤️
OMG, I am that person who hangs on to shoes waaaaaay too long.
Oh Deb I’m glad it’s not just me 😂😂

Nice Job - Flip Flopping Some Things Between The Laundry Room Closet & The Front Foyer Closet !
Hi... I am just like you I do a little at a time... because my anxiety starts with me...I love thats you can laugh at things... thank u..
I'd take off the door and do hooks and a bench and a shelf in the laundry room. You can put your husbands rarely used coats in his closet! Do u have a wall u could put current coats and backpacks on?
Thanks Heather 🤗
I personally would NEVER remove closet doors. Then I would see everything and it would drive me nuts!
Hi Jodi, I understand seasons as I live in England. I have 2 pair of sketchers and love them got to agree they are so comfortable.
Angela they are. Mine aren’t so much now that all the support has worn out 😂
Yay, another video 👏👏👏👏 getting it done little by little.
Thank you Rosa ❤️
That photo story was hilarious.
😂😂
Good morning Jodi, you are doing a fantastic job with your decluttering journey. Both of ur closets look great.
Have a wonderful day!
Thanks so much Doris 🤗🤗
Thank you Haylee 🤗
That’s a great idea ❤️
These closets look awesome!!! I totally understand wearing old shoes and clothes because you went through a time you couldn’t afford it. Its a hard mentality to get out of.
I loved all your close up angles of the floor dust 👌🏻 chefs kiss 💋 I appreciate your filming efforts and sharing all of that with us 😋❤️
It really is! I have to keep reminding myself I’m not in the place any longer 😊
Great job! 👍🏻
I also don’t care about the matching hangers 😆
Love your videos, you’re so fun and lovely person 😊These are real “good mood videos”!
I’m glad I’m not the only who doesn’t care about matching hangers 😂
Thank you so much ❤️
Hello Jodi New subscriber here !! I am living in Sweden 🇸🇪 but from the UK and I lived in NJ USA for 12 years ... Before i comment on the video i just want to say how amazing you are and you are beautiful, and lovely ,your soooo funny you put a little happy in my day 😀and you are an inspiration to a lot of people..regarding the video just a suggestion when you move the basket of balls and helmets from the closet to garage maybe put another 2 more of them tall shoe racks in there and put the shoes from the rack by window in the closet and you can keep winter shoes in there in the summer months and summer shoes in laundry closet and then swap around each season and keep a tub in the hall on shelve to keep gloves ,hats ect ..hope it makes sense and sorry for a long explanation.Have a wonderful day x
P.s I have been binge watching your channel ...👌👍👏🌺💖
FANTASTIC !!!!
Hi Catherine 🤗
Thank you so much for being here, for your kindness and for the suggestion ❤️❤️
I swap jackets and coats out too. Snow pants, and parkas really squish down in those vacuum storage bags, then I toss them in the garage. That vertical shoe rack is awesome!
Thanks Caryn ❤️
Add another piece of wood to make it flat to install the broom holders
❤️❤️
Dont worry . I had a shock opening my pantry cupboard last week. We used to keep dog food at the bottom and theres a gap under the door so when the back door opens all sorts of dust or whatever blows in. X x
I know you’re not looking forward to decluttering your garage, but I am very excited to see that one!
I’m glad someone’s excited 😂
Of course I will be once it’s done but oh gosh there is so much junk in there 🤦♀️
@@jodidunnmymessylife1847 🤣🥰🥰
I'm new. I love you and your laugh and real life messes!!💗
Hi Becki 🤗
So happy you are here ❤️
Funny I just put my winter boots away also today. I’m done with winter. Love the organized closets, they look fantastic.very motivating
Wanda I’m done with winter too! I hope it’s done with me 😂
So good Jodi. I hold onto stuff too.
For me, same thing as you...
💜
Vicki it’s a hard habit to break free of!
@@jodidunnmymessylife1847 it surely is..💜🌻
Great job, Jodi! Love that you were able to move stuff around to work better for you! What a hilarious surprise when you cleaned out your daughter's bag. Never known anyone to do a senior pic quite like that. HAHA
Julie I was SHOCKED to say the least 😂
Have you thought Abt taking off the closet door? It would make access of the closet easier. I've done it to a few and it made a ton of difference
I haven’t Christy. It would truly drive me nuts to see everything. The door is a must for me ❤️
I haven’t Christy. It would truly drive me nuts to see everything. The door is a must for me ❤️
@@jodidunnmymessylife1847 maybe a curtain instead?
i love when your daughter asked what you were laughing at and you said "nothing!" I rotate coats and I'm in NC. When the hooks get crowded, I move them all to the closet. Then as we actually use a coat it goes back on the hooks.
Christina I had to throw that picture out quick like before my girls got nosy 😂😂😂
Yes I watch all her videos. She did an awesome job on that closet makeover ❤️❤️❤️
Take off the closet doors in the laundry area. Put bars of soap in the boots when you put them away 🙂
With the winter boots I would put a couple of the moister absorbers and dryer sheets in it.
They were completely dry since they haven’t been used in over a week. But that’s a great idea for if I do have to pull them out and store them back again. Thanks Amanda ❤️
Your welcome
Oh that’s awesome Liza ❤️
It definitely feels good getting rid of unused stuff 🥰
Hahaha
Oh my gosh you made me laugh Angelica 😂
Weight changing like the seasons is real life!
@@jodidunnmymessylife1847 So glad I can make you laugh! 😂 you make me giggle all the time.☺️
I just watched your video! Have you thought about getting 1 of those rolling wardrobe racks that you can zip up? Maybe put it in the basement and change the seasons out as you need them and your closets will look a little more decluttered. They look great! I love watching your videos!
I’ve never heard of something like that Tracey. I’ll look that up ❤️
It looks like those rolling racks you see in the clothing stores.
I’ll have a mob beating down my fort if we get a big snow storm 🤣🤣🤣
Gosh I do sure hope we are done with winter though.
Yes the dust deters me from storing much in the basement 😂😂
But if you like the idea of storing in bedroom closets Sammy you should definitely try that out ❤️
Love this! We are installing the backsplash now. Almost there.
Oh my gosh how fun Lea. I bet it’s gonna look so pretty ❤️
@@jodidunnmymessylife1847 yes I think it will too. Better than I expected.
You can hang your brooms and things on the wall in the laundry room :)
Yes great idea Paula ❤️
I love Sketchers, too! Super comfy. When mine start to look like they need to be tossed, I pre spot them, toss them in the washer and set them out to dry. The result is pretty amazing!
That’s awesome Pat ❤️
Mine are beyond repair with the holes and all support gone 😂
👋🏾 Hello from a fellow Michigander! I'm hoping your no more snow prediction comes true, I think we've had our fair share. I think you did an awesome job with the closets & I hope that it works out long-term.
Hi Darnia 🤗
Thank you. I sure hope we are done with snow too 🤞🤞🤞
Another job well done Jodi, I have a family of 5, finding space for coats and shoes is one of my biggest frustrations, why oh why do we need so dang many uuuggghh 😀 keep going lovely lady, your doing great 👍
Christine for real!! I feel your pain to a tee 😂
Those old worn shoes are great to use for outside yard work. I have a pair that look like that that I use when I am mowing grass or painting or anything like that
Yes that’s very true Tiffany ❤️
I added flat peices of wood with big hooks all the way around closet for coats. Easier than hanging. Have a clear bin above for hats and one for gloves.
Awesome Laurie 👏👏👏
You just never know what you might find when you declutter! 🤣
Another great job! I sure do look forward to Jodi Day!
Cheryl that was definitely a surprise and gave us all a good laugh 😂
I like you so much bc we are very similar! Lol! I keep a lot of stuff bc I think what if I can't afford it when I need it! My gma & daddy passed away 7 months apart when I was 18. I kept so much of their stuff bc I felt guilty letting it go. Once I did several years later it was such a relief! I also have spaces that have been neglected too and are dusty 😅 you are making a lot of progress and keep inspiring me to do better! ❤
Well Brittany I like you a lot too ❤️❤️
It’s truly comforting to know my challenges are shared with other friends and I’m not the only one that keep life straight 😂
Oh I bet that was a huge weight lifted! Kudos to you for letting things go that are sentimental in anyway. It’s so hard!
Hello Jodi 🤗
It must’ve been nice to have a lot of closets and all that spaces you have in that house. Must be nice especially us couponers dreaming of shelves and spaces to put our stockpiles to. Just love watching your videos so motivating 😉
Yes it’s super nice have any amount of storage space ❤️❤️❤️
You can put the tool hanging device on the BACK wall, to the right, instead of on the right wall…
My daughter told me to check you out so here I am. I’m a new subbie now.
Hi Pamela 🤗
So happy you are here and please thank your daughter for me ❤️❤️
Maybe try putting the winter boots in the garage right by the door coming into the house? It would keep the snow and muck off the floor of the house.
Yes! Someone earlier suggested that and I love that idea ❤️
Loving the shoe organizers!
Thanks Sheree ❤️
Totally awesome 😎
Thanks Sondra ❤️
you could add another board in front on the shelf
Nice job, Jodi! Your decluttering muscles are getting stronger for sure. I didn’t even know there are different types of bowling balls. 😂 Go ahead and tell yourself you are worthy of nicer shoes than those Skechers and let them go. I bet the donation man was like “wait…where’s my friend this week?” 😂
Gina yes so many different types 😂
Yes I have new shoes. I just have to stop holding on to the torn up ones 🤣
Everyone has at least one thing that they maybe shouldn’t keep, but it’s just so hard to say goodbye 😂 You’re doing fantastic! 👏
That is amazing 😍😍👏👏👏
Oh yes she will definitely need a heavier ball. I’m a weakling with no arm muscles and 14lb is good for me 😂
Great video 🙃
❤️
I fully enjoy your videos! I have a suggestion for your large closet regarding hanging your brooms etc. Just add another piece of wood of the same size to fill the gap and then attach your hanging device. That should give enough continuous space for what you need. Keep up the great job and now I'm off to clean out a closet😁
Thanks so much ❤️
As a suggestion, could everyone store their coats in thier own closets? And keep the one out that they use everyday? I agree that the other closet is so small. But, it would save so much space in the closet you need for all of the large cleaning appliances/products.
Why don't you store the boot rack in the basement until next winter and put the boots back on it in the laundry room or garage for winter? We have wire shelves in our garage right by the door into the house where my husband keeps most of his shoes and I keep my walking and gardening shoes and rain and snow boots. Works good for the two of us.
Dana I didn’t want them on the shoe rack in the basement because of the amount of dust. Putting them in a storage will at least cut that way down ❤️
Hi Jodi. Love your decluttering video. I only have a 3bedroom 1 bathroom. Don't want no bigger home, but would love a half bathroom.
Thank you Joyce 🤗🤗
Jodi just put your brooms etc in the closet on command hooks. 🌷
Yes I talked about that in the video 😉
I would put something that absorbs moisture in the half wall storage and put the winter boots in there. 2 pair would fit in each I’d think.
Thanks Katherine ❤️
I am decluttering the Puppet workshop series I bring from school to school. I realized how much harder I am making it on myself bringing things that I don’t need to bring. Streamlining!
Oh that’s awesome Christian! Yes less stuff to have to take in and out makes so much sense ❤️
I know about the coats... I'm in New york... so yes 👍
Oh yes you sure do Kisha ❄️
Hi Jodi, what a great swap. I would be cautious with the leather jacket being in close proximity to the wet/damp mop but otherwise good job done.
Thanks Tina ❤️
Your laundry closet is about the size of my linen closet. Its tiny but i make it work. In some ways smaller spaces force you to be organized and only store what is necessary. Its really surprising how little we need.
Cut down the end wood brakets holding the rod. Then you might have space for the broom holder.
Thanks Deedee. I’d need to invest a tool to do that so definitely not a priority right now ❤️
Hi Jodi, I love watching your content and I can't wait for your next video!
Thank you so much Kleine 🤗🤗
I’ll have to look into that ❤️
Hi Jodi & family🥰👋💕💛
Hi Saby ❤️
Great job!
Thank you ❤️
@@jodidunnmymessylife1847 Welcome ❤
3M makes command strip broom hangers. They are 👌
Yes I’ve seen them 🥰
Random thought, if you put the shoe organizers separated t ok either side, you could just slide the bowling bag in the center without fighting the door.
NM! Lol. Your hubby beat me to it. Lol
Thanks Lori 🤗
Keeping the bowling balls in the car is ideal for sure. I’m guessing it doesn’t get down to freezing where you live.
Sue I know. The holes don’t bother me as much as no support 😂😂😂
Oh removing wallpaper is such a job 🤦♀️
You’ll feel so good once it done
