You did great Jodi! Sometimes you know you should get rid of more but it’s sometimes hard to get rid of so much at one time. You can always make another pass down the line and get rid of more. I go through my kitchen about once a year after majorly decluttering it and still find something ga to donate. At one time I had like 30 pairs of shoes but I really only wore maybe 10 pairs but getting rid of 20 pair seemed so overwhelming so I just got rid of 5 pair. Then 6 months later another 5 pair etc . Now I only have 10 pair of shoes but probably only wear 5 pair though lol! But I’m good with that. 💜👍💜👍💜👍💜👍💜

Oh my gosh that made me laugh 😂😂
Yes it definitely does feel overwhelming getting of too much at once. But we eventually come to terms with it ❤️

i do this all the time, even if you only get rid of one more thing in the next pass, it always feels so nice.
i went through my shoes this year and decluttered like 9 pair that i used to love but havent touched, depending on the pair, in like 3- 5 years at this point

Yay!!! Nicely done! I found some metal pull out drawers to put in my old old old kitchen cabinet bottoms. The older and fatter I got I started not being able to get down to dig around. I had priced them at big box improvement stores for $90-$125 each. I found them on an aldi trip unexpectedly one night for $39 each. Just as thick or thicker metal and high quality. I needed 4 but they had 3 out. I asked and luckily they had more in back! My cousin installed for me (4-5 yrs ago) and I do a happy dance every time I get into those cupboards. I got rid of a bunch of old pots and pans and I couldn’t be happier! I inherited 3 pots w lids after my mom passes. Stainless steel with copper bottoms. My parents had them from early in their marriage so they are probably 70+ yr old pots. Be gone all the other nonstick pots. Those old pots are magical to cook in. 😃😃😃 Same with old muffin tins. Gotta love those older things! //Tip: I use old english wood touch up to cover up scratches and wear spots on my cupboards, table, end tables and any other wood furniture. Comes in a variety of wood colors. It’s amazing at bringing wood back to life! Hugs, em 🌸🌷🌸🌷🌸🌷

Yay! You utilized your space so much more efficiently! I mean really, that pull out frying pan system with the lids in the top drawer? Genius! I am so envious of all your cupboard space. Great to see you were able to get rid of the sentimental pots and pans from your Grandma. Here's a different perspective: If your Grandma were still alive, and still using those warped pots, you might say: "Oh my word, I think it's time for some new dang pots and pans! Let's go shopping for some new ones."

I have my grandmother's rice pan and skillet. She used those to cook for me when I was little, and I used them to cook for her when she lived with me. I got rid of her other cookware and bowls, which she had purchased in 196O and used until they fell apart. I felt bad when I got rid of those, but when I use the two pieces I kept that were still in good condition, I think of her and feel happy. I feel you.

I totally understand holding on to things that you will never be able to use because they belonged to a family member that passed. I had a ton of stuff that was my mothers. I moved it and moved it and moved it. I finally decided this was silly. Her memory lived with me not her stuff. Of course I still have some things that are super special to me but that’s it. We use all glass cups plates but it’s just the hubby and I and our 16 year old daughter. No littles. I do have 11 grands but when they come over I have a stash 😉 for them. We all have sentimental things. I display those. I took the cabinet doors off of my over the fridge cabinet and it’s my display cabinet. 😊

Great declutter video. Made me want to do some more decluttering in my house this weekend.
I tend to declutter my kitchen towards the end of the year. This is thanks to my son when he was about 5 or 6. He came home from school & asked if there was anything we could donate to the local food bank. It has since morphed into us doing a reverse advent calendar every year (if you don't know what that is, it means that you donate at least one item for every day of advent rather than receiving things in an advent calendar).
Another random thing I found when tidying up the books in my son's play area was that a kitchen plate stand on its side makes a great way to help books stand up neatly so he could see which ones he has 😊
Can't wait to see what gets decluttered next 😊

Even though I have a tiny channel, I have made so many friends and one of those amazing friends gave me a great idea for things that have memories. Pieces of clothing that have meaning like baby clothes etc, make a blanket or throw of them. Also furniture Pieces or things that take of space, but you are having a hard time getting rid of, take a picture of it. Save it, frame it and /or hang it. Takes up far less space and still have the memories.

I saw in amazon a padded holder for the of pots and pans that hangs inside on the door. Also maybe you could put some of your baking items and containers on a self or in a box in the basement, to see if you need them as often as you might think you do.

I'm late watching this, but I agree you should do whats best for you. Dont know how many videos of people cleaning theirs kitchens I've seen. They always keep more glasses, cups and water bottles than I think any family needs. Also as my arthritis in my hands progressed I couldn't trust using the heavier plates without dropping. I have the lighter Corelle now. My youngest child is 42 and I live alone AND I don't or can't clean the way I did when younger. However, it was a struggle a few years ago moving from 4 bedroom home to smaller condo, I didn't want to get of so many things. Again you must do what works for you. I was impressed.

My kitchen took multiple passes to declutter to the point I wanted it. It's always a journey. I'm still finding stuff on occasion.
I turned one of my empty cabinets into a area to put "things I wanna let go but I'm not sure if I will need them" space. It's helped me really pair down even more. And being willing to break up sets. Like the lid to the strainer. Mine was in the way for years and never used. Finally gave it up a month ago. Lol
Great job!! I enjoy your videos.

Hahaha I’m one of those people who think you could have gotten rid of so much more, but you do what makes you happy.
In my kitchen I have a rule where I have to be able to take the thing that I need out without removing other stuff to get to it. So I have no pans on top of each other, no pots on top of each other, no utensils in a pile and so on. I have paired down what we have and it makes life so much easier. I want my life to be as easy as I can make it 😊

Now that my children are grown, I've gotten rid of plastic cups, water bottles, and leftover containers, because they are endocrine disruptors. My mug collection...I could get rid of some chipped ones but they were gifted to me by each child for Christmas. So hard to throw out! My supplements stay in the kitchen to one dedicated cabinet. I try now, to only use stainless steel water/coffee bottles, pyrex, anchor hocking or glass items such as canning jars for storage. I find the food lasts longer for some reason...and they don't leach toxins. Little by little I'm changing over and reducing the amount of clutter. Jodi, like minds think a like. Your kitchen organization is similar to mine. Good luck with the kitchen de-clutter!

Great job Jodi! Man that actually wore me out. Lol! My favorite cookware is Calphalon home essentials. It's stainless steel and still looks brand new after 17 years. Oven and dishwasher safe too. I had the same problem with the pots and pans being a mess in the cupboard. Now I have an organizer made by Rev A Shelf. Everything is in one cabinet. Lids on top and pots and pans on the bottom. Slides in and out. Soft close too.

I bought myself a set of All-Clad stainless pots and pans. They are worth every penny they cost! Nice heavy bottoms. I just use Solo cups at home. My boys were so destructive that glass glasses had to go. I got rid of the cups that match my dinnerware as I don't drink hot beverages. I'm kind of jealous of all of your cabinets! My kitchen is super tiny, and super old. Lol! Great job, Jodi! Thanks for the inspiration!

Oh my gosh! You did awesome! I moved from a 2 bedroom apartment to a 3 bedroom apartment. The kitchen did have more space at the new place. However, I took that opportunity to declutter. I saved some things that my oldest daughter wants. They are in storage. I had 3 sets of pots and pans! I only have 4 burners. So I chose my favorite, which were my Tupperware stainless steel. And 1 no stick skillet.
We never use our glass plates and bowls. I have a set of 16!!! So I kept 4 of each. They are on a top shelf. We only use our Tupperware plates. And plastic bowls from Dollar tree.
I hardly wear makeup. So it's in my bathroom closet. So is my prescription meds and supplements. My first aide is in there as well. The girls have started filling their own pill boxes. So I have each of their RX, vitamins, etc in a Tupperware container.
We hate to do dishes. So I figured, the less we have the easier it will be to keep up with it. Turns out I was right. We do have a schedule of who's night it is to dishes. But now that I make everyone wash their dish a put it in the dishwasher, it's becoming less of a task.
I'll have to send you some pictures.

I just found your channel, and I really like how you talk a lot in your videos instead of just playing the same free songs over and over and over like most other cleaning channels 😅 So funny how many cups you found 😂

For the cereal you could take them out of the box and keep in bag then put into a storage basket in the cupboard gets rid of the bulk of the box and you can see what you have in a marker you can put the expiration on the bag.
In case you do another round of decluttering and want a different option.

Heritage The Rock pots and pans are heavy duty and incredible! They're very expensive, but worth the investment because you likely won't need to buy another set again. You can always but second hand too :)

I’m honestly really impressed with your skill and ability at fitting so much in each cupboard. If cluttered cabinets was an Olympic sport you’d win gold!!! 🥇 🤣🤣💕💕 (before you decluttered) I’m just teasing, you did a great job!! 🥰
I feel like you and i could be friends in real life! I like your opinions you were explaining about your kitchen vs our kitchens and that we don’t all have to think the same to get along. You seem like you’d be a great non judgmental friend 💚

Jodie, take a couple pictures of your grandmother's stuff that you are going to get rid of. I can't tell the brand of those glass bowls, but if they are old one, check to see if they are worth something before you donate them. Look at the top shelf where the plates are. It's bowing a little because of the weight. Take half of the plates and move them to the other side and put the bowls in the center. That will distribute the weight some. :)

Jodi, You're such an interesting, lovely, nice, kind, energetic and funny person!! (and your family too, of course :) I am used to read a book in the evenings, but since I found your channel (by the ''unfinished'' basement part declutter video) last week, I think I am ADDICTED to your laugh! :)
I love your videos and am always looking forward to have my "Hello, hello, hello!!" time with Jodi in the evenings as a relax. Your channel is more than just about decluttering for me and I want to thank you for that. THANK you for sharing this journey with us, and your life attitude, ideas and thoughs. This episode MADE me comment here, because of the thoughts about how different we are and how we should tolerate one another. ♥
*( I think that's my first time ever commenting under one inlfuencers's video :D:D )
I am really thankful for you and for what you are doing. Maybe you don't always realise, how can one little sentence you said here help another person across the world to think about his/her attitude towards people around him/her. Or to think about [in our head harmless] comments we made that can hurt others A LOT :/
Soooo :) please, keep making your content videos and I will sure keep on watching them ;)

I stared doing my decluttering when I'm washing whatever it is. I declutter the glasses and plates when the dish drainer is full, and I've got another sinkfull soaking. If it's still in the cupboard, it's fair game. We haven't used it!! Right?! Same thing with when the clothes are in the hamper and in the laundry machine!! You're knocking it out of the park Jodi!!
