Hello Andrea, I work in optics and I regularly see people with fake eyelashes. Often their eyes cannot keep up with the weight of the lashes and I see that with your eyes, too. The problem is in the m. levator which is the muscle that keeps your eyes open. Also, the human eye has its own cleaning routine by moving dirt and debris across the eyelashes. Fake lashes don't allow them to do that, since they're blocking the path. You might want to give your eyelids some rest.
My hubby thought I was mental the first time he saw me cleaning the house, I do one room a day and on rotation (for the 27 years we’ve been married 😂). I had my steamer out, tape, cotton buds and tooth picks along with the usual suspects of cleaning. He couldn’t get over how disgusting the rags were once done. He and our kids got into the “fun” early on! I would hand a rag and kid friendly cleaner in a spray bottle to our 2 year old and she was in heaven! She was occupied for hours. She’s 24 now and cleans like I taught her. Can’t stand throw pillows, they get donated immediately. Curtains and lamp shades get vacuumed every time I vacuum and cleaned every month, same with all bedding.
My youngest loves to grab our shark handheld vacuum and go around the house (and outside the house 😂) cleaning things. They emulate what they see (I don't vacuum outside though haha- she came up with that one on her own).
My husband goes on a 2 week hunting trip every year. While is gone I do a deep clean of the house while he’s gone. I do a room a day when I get off work so that way it’s not as overwhelming and get all the stuff that we no longer need ready to go donate.
This is when I can throw away those things we hold onto just in case and spend 15 to 30 min isn’t bad. It sure beats wasting a whole day or two getting it done
I’ve had problems mopping on my hands n knees when my knees were bad but managed with my feet to “square the corners” or get those spots my mop just couldn’t do justice. Perhaps using your feet would be just as difficult (at least that’s what I’d imagine trying to use tape, lol) but there may be another creative alternative. 🤷🏼♀️ then again, sometimes good enough is good enough! ;-)
Amen! Detest dusting, so I keep surfaces as clutter free as possible .For corners I use a type of brush with soft rubber 'teeth'. It pulls everything with it. On carpet or hard floor. I will be 73 in a couple of weeks and getting down on the floor to clean has become a misery. First it hurts my knees. And second I found out one day I couldn't get up. That called for some exercises and I actually wear knee pads when cleaning. I have a small 2 bed home with 16 ft ceilings so I have telescopic dusters for walls. I also use a small heavy duty plastic rollie cart? It looks like a playskool toy. It's for gardening and I bring it inside to roll along and clean baseboards and scrub out those corners on the floors. I loaned it to my daughter to paint base boards and she was in love. I told her not to break it as it wasn't available any longer. Tools are a senior's friend.
I got sick and tired of moving everything and dusting it all. I bought a curio cabinet for my lovely pieces and got rid of stuff go too. And I’ll never have things all over the place.
My friend who is a heating:cooling guy for decades in MN… says buy the cheapest filters and change them monthly. Also always keep your furnace fan on. He has been doing this for decades ! ❤
Im so fortunate, we live in the country, far from the road. We put new windows in 3 years ago & they are absolutely beautiful! I have no blinds/curtains of any kind, except for the bedrooms which have room darkening blind, they stay up 99% of the time.
Years ago, I realized that my rugs and floors didn't look really clean after vacuuming. The little "hiking trails" drove me nuts. I started paying attention to what I was doing and I was vacuuming way to fast, especially on carpet. We see actors in a scene vacuuming, and they are going to town with that vac. I slowed down to give the vac time to actually suck up what the brush loosens. Maybe it's over the top, but I started picturing the carpet fibers and how they look ok from the height of your eyeballs, but at the bottom of the carpet, those plush fibers aren't able to move lushly if you always go the same direction. I have a dyson and the ball allows me to vacuum in tight half circles. I found that if I did the little half moon, one direction, then let that section rest while I did the other parts. Then came back and reversed, each time I vacuumed, doing this to another section, I was able to get the soft plushy feel without having to shampoo so much.
when my husband vacuums he goes at the speed of light and I have told him he needs to slow down so the machine has time to do its thing... when I do it .. he thinks I am going to slow....
@@brendaramsbottom8693 Make him dinner at the speed of light and only get half the food on his plate. Let him know that's what it's like when he vacuums. 😆😂
I have used tape in the same way for years. I love to use it on lampshades. You get everything off it with no damage to the shade. I have used it for other things as well but the lampshades is my favorite.
Fly Screens - remove them, wash with soapy water and hose off in the garden. Vacuuming in corners - use the crevice brush which comes with your vacuum cleaner.🌸
If/when one can't hose off outside, I recommend the shower. Then, after letting drip off a bit, carry outside to dry, OR dry in bathroom too. Can use a boot tray to catch water, when leaving inside tub/shower doesn't work well ( ours doesn't get like any air flow, so, things can dry really slowly in there).
I make all my throw pillows and the covers are removable. I have a central vacuum, and it sucks up everything! I use it to clean air vents and screens. There's nothing left when I vacuum hard surfaces. It gets into corners as well. It was less expensive than many high end vacuum cleaners. Knee pads for the win when cleaning the base of a toilet or antime you need to kneel.
I visited a friend house for a few days and she mentioned that her electric heater was sounding weird but she didn't want to call the lanlord yet.. So I figured I'd help her out if I could. When my grandkids come to stay, they aren't required to do much, it's Granny's house and more funnerer than home, I think that's a federal law. HOWEVER, they are required to make their bed every morning. The rooms they use, actually all my beds, are old fashion simple. No accent pillows and declaratively folded comforter over quilts. My preference is the old fashioned bedspread. The kind that you pull up to where your pillows live, fold back, put down pillows, and pull the folded part over the pillows. Tuck in well under pillows and your done. A 4/5 yo can easily make a twin bed this way, especially if you get a bedspread with "land marks". Some have cording around the top edge and knife pleats in the bottom corners. Making it every day, the sheets or sheets and blanket dont get very twisted. Once theu understand the process, making the bed takes about 3 minutes. When they were about 5 to 12, I was General Granny. Living on a ranch, we are early risers. I woke them with Reville at 6 a.m. They were usually awake and giggling waiting. With age comes wisdom, so for those like me who are very, verrrry wise, and stiff & painful in the morning, if you can find one, a simple bedspread really makes a difference in my mood because if I can make my bed, I've done something. Seeing my bed unmade feels like I'm in public with twisted panties.
I check my AC/Furnace filters on the first day of the month (I put a recurring reminder in my phone). I also write the date I changed the filter on it. Since I use air purification units, there are times that the filter can go 2 months without needing a change. I hate dusting, so my goal is to get rid of a lot of decor I have to move to dust and figure out a better way to display family pictures.
I just love all your videos & haven't gotten thru all of them yet. I always say if you can find one new hint, tip, hack, the time has been well spent. I always find more than one with your videos. I am 77 and wish I had known some of these things 40 years ago (LOL). And, like some other commenters, I do have to let a few of them go because with aging you find you can't do ladders, being on knees or bending for very long. And one last question: Do you ever get to rest or have downtime?
Yes I do get downtime. My husband and I tag team the cleaning so it's not just me doing all the work. Our kids are pretty good at cleaning up when we ask them. And I usually take a cat nap before my kids get home from school.
Jean I really loved these tips with allergies and asthma watching your videos gets me very motivated to be more simplistic and cleaner on daily basis. Thanks 😊
I use the big lint rollers from Costco to clean floors and more. For more precision tear one page off to gat into corners and top of baseboards. I have one on every room plus my car. I love em!
Carpet just collects dust and dirt no matter what you do. I used to sell carpet. I had this women come in to replace her carpet. Her allergist told her she had allergies. Come to find out she had her carpet down for 20 years. I tried to tell her that it was her carpet that was causing her allergies. She told me she vacuumed every day. I told her that the beater bar on her vacuum pushed dirt down through the carpet and she was going to be shocked when they removed the carpet. She didn't believe me. She wanted me to unroll the new carpet out and let it air out before it was installed. She never came back. The same thing happens with big rugs. When you have them professionally cleaned they vacuum them from the back side to get as much dirt as possible out of the rug. You wouldn't believe how much dirt is underneath on the floor. It looks like a sandbox. Some people don't get their rugs cleaned professionally as often as they should. Especially older oriental or Persian rugs.
My house is old and only had carpet in one room. I had vacuumed and steam cleaned, but it never looked clean, so I had it removed. There was so much dirt, I could have planted a garden! I have wood and tile floors, which are much easier to keep clean.
What type of company cleans rugs? I just bought a wool rug that says professionally clean. I know how to clean wool diapers but this is more than I can fit in my tub. I live in a small town, so I am assuming I’ll have to take it to a city.
I am never keeping shoes outside. I took my shoes off once outside to run and grab something inside-and was coming back immediately outside to put them out. When I put my shoes back on, I felt massive vibrations in my shoe…I took it off..AND there was a giant horsefly that was in my shoe. Never again..
I just moved into an older home. The screens may never have been cleaned and blocked vision and light. I removed them all and carefully pressure washed them, on a tarp, and let them dry in the sun. While they were drying we washed the windows inside and out. This made a dramatic improvement in how our house feels. Same with area rugs and the doormats. I have allergies to dust mites so all of my pillows have a dust mite case and the decorative cases i wash often. I dont have any furniture that is upholstered in fabric, everthing can be wiped down and/or vacuumed. We live in the woods so no curtains. All mattresses are in a dust mite cover too. LVP on the floors. Shoes dont come in to the house past the laundry room where we keep slippers and inside footwear. Thats what i do.
Maybe I'm a little extra, but I have and use wipes next to our shoe rack. I also, have bulk disposal non- slip slippers in a basket for when guest come over.
I have 2 samoyeds, one cat, 20 full bookcases and lots of knicks knacks. I try to declutter but it is a slow process for me. The red foyer carpet is usually pink with all the sammies hair trapped in it. I vacuum when I see too many dust bunnies and yes I have lots of dust because I dont dust regularly. However I change my furnace filter regularly, every month, and it is nasty! I own a Miele vacuum and it works well, it is just that I dont use it enough. Thanks for the tips. One day I might be able to do a better job. At least I cook all our meals from scratch.
I have a robot vacuum that runs every morning for an hour. Ever since i got it, i barely have any dust on my furniture. I spoke to someone else with one and he said the exact same thing.
@@AndreaJean I like the eufy brand better than the roomba because it's quieter, goes under lower furniture, and doesn't get stuck on things like cords as much.

Pop on your rubber gloves and run your fingers along the edges of the carpet (where it meets the skirting board), I guarantee that you will very easily remove all of the tiny bits of debris - increase the affect by dipping your gloved fingers into some water!!
Omg I found your channel I couldn't remember the name of your channel and I am a very eccentric person 😅I am subscriber to so many channels I kept getting confused on who was who. I finally found you. Thank you so much for sharing your tips and tricks. Many Blessings To You And Your Family Stay Safe And Well. I'm very glad you are doing well. *ellen* on husband's account.
It's not saturating the rug to that point. There is also a non slip liner that I've put under the rug so that's another barrier between the rug and floor.
@@AndreaJeanThanks again. I am pulling out carpet and want hardwood over vinyl. I thought maybe you had good arguments for real hardwood. Do they really show tons of dust? Carpets just seem so nasty. You are great and fun to watch. 😊
For cleaning, I like my BISSELL Little Green Machine: urlgeni.us/amzn/H8gDk If you're asking about a small handheld vacuum to suck up crumbs, etc, I like my Shark Handheld: urlgeni.us/amzn/0yrRN
Before I vacuum rugs or carpet, I take just a couple minets to sweep the carpet. In maybe a minute or two, it's amazing how much long human hair I pick up and its easier getting it out of a broom than the vac brush. A hair encrusted vac brush is a pet peeve of mine. Personally, I'm much more willing to vacuum if I'm reaching for a nice clean vacuum. Clean bin, clean brush. I can see the dust & dirt and that is satisfying. Plus, why basically store a box of dust in your house? 🤔 Can a hubby of almost 47 years, who re..😢re..reti..😢.retired😭, be classified as a box of dust? Just askin'😉
This Pikk-It Vacuum Tool will help with the hair removal from your vacuum brush. - urlgeni.us/amzn/4ZMK0 I recently talked about it in these two videos: ua-cam.com/video/pnO7mKTlkGQ/v-deo.htmlsi=JC2QUNrcJeFU8kl6 ua-cam.com/video/UnXm4Qo56uo/v-deo.htmlsi=Wlethea6mBZVac1D
Imagine if you see that your furnace filter is THAT dirty what your ducts look like. My husband has been doing furnace and duct cleaning for over 20 years and I have had first hand experience at what some look like. If you have pets then you should clean your furnace and ducting at least every two years and keep your vent covers clean and replace your filter as often as necessary if you see that its filthy within a month then you should find a reputable furnace and duct cleaner and get them done.
I think she is good, but I have bigger issues in my life than to obsess about dust. Renovating a house to sell, maintaining two houses, and some empty ones (until I finish the one I am working- I am done with renting!!), is plenty to keep me busy. Life is a matter on perspective, and while the minimalist approach has helped me, battling dust is a little too much for me.❤
I wish the vacuum designers never made the ones without bags. What a mess to clean them! Then you also have to clean/wash the sponge filter underneath the bagless part that you empty out - so filthy! Wish I could buy/find a great vacuum that uses bags.
I love my Electrolux(Aerus) that I have owned for over 20 years. Give me my bags and HEPA Filters. Also, I invested in a Titian Cordless Vacuum with a bag and HEPA Filter and it is also wonderful.
Well, I became thoroughly disgusted with myself while watching this and I realized that I haven’t been doing a lot of those things nearly as often or as well as I should. You scared me when you mentioned furnace filters!!! I haven’t thought about that for I don’t even know how long!!! So that goes on my list of things to do and I may even have to buy another one. I don’t know. My brother always took care of my furnacey stuff until he started traveling for work more. Thanks for the wake up call. I need to up my game! ❤
Thank you. I always wipe off the bottom of my shoes before walking through the house....for that very reason.....public restrooms....well, anything public.🥴😛
For YEARS I kept silly little things my daughters had given me. One day I showed my eldest daughter one of these things "What's that?" She asked " You gave me this" I replied "Oh??!!" LOTS of things have now subsequently been thrown!!! As for my 3 dogs 🤔🤔🤔
Everyday dust will gather even after u clean it. Few mins u can see dust again. They are small particles frm outside to inside the hse. No matter hw u clean it still hv dust. Of cos everyday need cleaning the floor or places tat obvious to dust gathering.
I’ll keep trying but my safari browser doesn’t want to open to your link for the things “in this video”. I’m especially interested in the shoe cabinet. Reminds me of visiting a new friends home for supper with her, her husband and family. They had a little shelving unit on the front porch by their door where the all took off their shoes before entering their home. I complied but thought it strange - later changed my mind about it! Now looking for an upgrade from my utility shelves. Thanks!
Tips are great, but I'm old-fashioned. My drapes are not wasable. They cost a fortune to dry clean. Im 78 and dont want to be on a ladder taking down and putting up floor to ceiling drapes, so I settle for lightly vacuuming them once a month.
If you wear or put on lotion or body products etc, on your body/ skin. Your home, beds furniture etc will rub or be all of those locations & more. You'll be cleaning constantly.
@hildamartinez8545 No facelift here and I haven't changed my routine in several years. However, is that how you talk to people you know or do not know? Do you routinely insult others on how they look? It's easy to be negative and disrespectful at a computer and no picture attached to your profile.
You are so rude! I wonder what you look like. Probably not nearly as beautiful as she is! She is stunning and has a right to take good care of herself! People who talk badly about others looks are only doing it to make themselves feel better because they know they could never look as good. Keep your nasty opinions to yourself!

Thanks 😊
You are so welcome!- Andrea Jean
Smart tip using tape for your corners, while the vacuum can't. Thank you Andrea, good tips ❤❤❤Joan 😊
You are so welcome!
I use the big lint rollers from Costco to clean floors and more. For more precision tear one page off to gat into corners and top of baseboards. I have one on every room plus my car. I love em!
Thanks for sharing!!
Thanks for sharing. It's insane how much dirt and dust stays in and under the carpet/rugs.
Great tip for when guests come over. I wipe my shoes down as well.
You can remove vent covers and put them in the dish washer.
And while they are off you can clean out the duct behind it. 😊
I could do that.
A soft paintbrush also works on the screen.
That's so awesome. We've contemplated getting one.
@@AndreaJean I like the eufy brand better than the roomba because it's quieter, goes under lower furniture, and doesn't get stuck on things like cords as much.
@@teresasmith2161 Thanks for the tip.
Run it every day. Best investment I’ve made in years!
I’m new to your channel , love all your advice! Name of your vacuum?
Shark LA502 Rotator Vacuum: urlgeni.us/amzn/PWSEn
Feel free to check out my Amazon store where you'll find all the items from my videos and more: urlgeni.us/amazon/22BO
Girl great idea
Thank you!
Pop on your rubber gloves and run your fingers along the edges of the carpet (where it meets the skirting board), I guarantee that you will very easily remove all of the tiny bits of debris - increase the affect by dipping your gloved fingers into some water!!
Thanks once again for the awesome tips!
Glad you like them!
I am 74 amen to your feelings
I love to clean, get into the Zone! I wash my rugs a😊t the laundry ma😊t
Some great tips the screen cleaning tool. Need to research the mini blind cleaner. Thanks
Glad it was helpful!
I love your coach.
Thanks for the tape idea!
You're welcome!
Love your tips …..thanks for helping 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
You're so welcome!
When you shampoo your carpet on top of your wood floor does that not hurt the floor? How do you keep your wood floors from getting wet??
It's not saturating the rug to that point. There is also a non slip liner that I've put under the rug so that's another barrier between the rug and floor.
I love your cleaning hacks.❤😊
Thank you so much!
Good tips from you.❤
Thank you!
Shoes outside🎉🎉🎉
Summer yes , winter no . Cold freezing feet
Are your floors hardwood? If so, why did you get them? TY
They are and that's what the original owner had picked.
@@AndreaJeanThanks again. I am pulling out carpet and want hardwood over vinyl. I thought maybe you had good arguments for real hardwood. Do they really show tons of dust? Carpets just seem so nasty. You are great and fun to watch. 😊
Great video. What small furniture vacuum cleaner do you recommend?
For cleaning, I like my BISSELL Little Green Machine: urlgeni.us/amzn/H8gDk
If you're asking about a small handheld vacuum to suck up crumbs, etc, I like my Shark Handheld: urlgeni.us/amzn/0yrRN
Any idea on those baseboard electric vents? They look like tight fins like a radiator. I've tried vacuuming but it still seems dirty
Thank you 😊
You're welcome 😊
Did you see the ant crawling on your swifter! I love these!
Do u have any plants?
- urlgeni.us/amzn/4ZMK0
I recently talked about it in these two videos:

I love your ideas.
Thank you! 😊
Vacuum the screens. The wind always pushes the dust back into my house.
You are the best!
Thank you!
If you burn something in the kitchen, popcorn pee U, open the window, and put the fan blowing outside. It sucks the air out.
I VACUUME/DUST... if I can't microfiber it then I vacuum! lol especially the window screens!
Hey AJ. Great tips. When do you sleep. Lol. Never thought bout tape.🤯
I rest my eyes for a quick nap before the kids get home from school and I often go to bed early.
I need a shoe organizer!
I have 2 more rooms to remove the carpet. But now dust balls and fur balls 😮
🫣
Imagine if you see that your furnace filter is THAT dirty what your ducts look like. My husband has been doing furnace and duct cleaning for over 20 years and I have had first hand experience at what some look like. If you have pets then you should clean your furnace and ducting at least every two years and keep your vent covers clean and replace your filter as often as necessary if you see that its filthy within a month then you should find a reputable furnace and duct cleaner and get them done.
We just had our ducts cleaned within the last year and my husband is pretty good at changing filters when needed. Thanks for sharing... great tips.
My vents are in the ceiling. What's an easy way to clean them.
Swiffer duster with extendable handle is what I would use. urlgeni.us/amzn/MxVx
I think she is good, but I have bigger issues in my life than to obsess about dust.
Renovating a house to sell, maintaining two houses, and some empty ones (until I finish the one I am working- I am done with renting!!), is plenty to keep me busy.
Life is a matter on perspective, and while the minimalist approach has helped me, battling dust is a little too much for me.❤
So why click on a dust video🤔
Wouldn't it be easier to take the vents off and put them in the sink?
🤷🏼♂️ But then I have to dry them and clean the sink.
Luv your style girl we share the same kind of humour 😅😅
❤️
I wish the vacuum designers never made the ones without bags. What a mess to clean them! Then you also have to clean/wash the sponge filter underneath the bagless part that you empty out - so filthy! Wish I could buy/find a great vacuum that uses bags.
I agree! I’m still using mine from 1995 - with hearing protection because it’s so loud! But it works fantastically!
I love my Electrolux(Aerus) that I have owned for over 20 years. Give me my bags and HEPA Filters. Also, I invested in a Titian Cordless Vacuum with a bag and HEPA Filter and it is also wonderful.
@@margaret3586 thank you for sharing. 💞
Miele vacuums are awesome! They last forever and use bags.
Also Aerus, Titian, and Ricor are awesome Vacuumns with bags. I have had my Aerus(FKA:Electrolux) for over 30 years and it is still going strong.
I dried my shoes and they shrank, fitting snug afterwards. I donated them after that.
Hello andrea
Hello. ❤️
Thank you. I always wipe off the bottom of my shoes before walking through the house....for that very reason.....public restrooms....well, anything public.🥴😛
🥴
Hello Minnesota neighbor
Oh hey... how ya doin! 😆
No one is allowed to walk around my house with shoes on. Not even company. I keep extra slippers for them to use.
CLEAR PARCEL TAPE IS THE BEST. Painters tape not so and it’s expensive
For YEARS I kept silly little things my daughters had given me. One day I showed my eldest daughter one of these things
"What's that?" She asked
" You gave me this" I replied
"Oh??!!"
LOTS of things have now subsequently been thrown!!!
I don’t wash me sneakers with towels, Ecoli!!!!
You're crazy if you trust leaving your shoes outside 😂
How are you touching that just like that with your bare hands!!
Don't be scared of a bit of muck.
That is what soap and water is for! LOL
*I steam my screens, blows the gunk out! We live on a dirt road 😳
Good tip!
How about changing your camera once in a while since it your videos keep going dark all of a sudden ???
♥️
I thought this world be air preventing dust
I’ll keep trying but my safari browser doesn’t want to open to your link for the things “in this video”. I’m especially interested in the shoe cabinet.
Reminds me of visiting a new friends home for supper with her, her husband and family. They had a little shelving unit on the front porch by their door where the all took off their shoes before entering their home. I complied but thought it strange - later changed my mind about it! Now looking for an upgrade from my utility shelves.
Thanks!
That's so weird that it's not working for you. Can you try using Chrome?
I just said to myself Over the weekend that I need to wash my curtains....
video does not show
We dont have carpets, so we can swiffer and have less dust
I cannot go bare foot bc my feet hurt too much.
A good pair of shoes is what I like.
House shoes?
I'll just put my shoes on a special rug at the door or boot tray,my shoes don't stay outside we have black widow spiders bad in my area
Yes, we live in Michigan where it snows lol
Tips are great, but I'm old-fashioned. My drapes are not wasable. They cost a fortune to dry clean. Im 78 and dont want to be on a ladder taking down and putting up floor to ceiling drapes, so I settle for lightly vacuuming them once a month.
😊❤👩🏻🦳👍👍👍
If you wear or put on lotion or body products etc, on your body/ skin. Your home, beds furniture etc will rub or be all of those locations & more. You'll be cleaning constantly.
I mean, shouldn't you be cleaning on a consistent basis anyways?
You changed your look! Too much Botox or a Facelift…new hair color. 😮
Thanks for the tips.
Wow. That was ridiculously rude and totally unnecessary. So what if she did? That's her business, not yours. She looks healthy, enough said!
