Great job Jodi! Thank you for sharing this cleaning system. I have not tried this one but tried and failed for years to follow similar systems like the FlyLady but just couldn’t wrap my head around it. Finally last year it clicked! I figured out how to make a system work that I could do. I still fall off the wagon occasionally but I am pleased to say our home is never 15-30 minutes away from company ready. Whoohoo! Thank you for the fantastic motivation! Hope you have a great week! ❤
I guess I'm an English cleaning mum! Lol I have always cleaned this way. I clean as I see and clean as I go. No more designated days it all gets done. You are doing great Jodi and it definitely shows. Dont lose your confidence. Everything takes baby steps. Would love to see a clean with me video!
Hi! I'm also British.I wish I had realised this before. I feel so behind the times as I've only just discovered all of the popular cleaning routines out there. It gives me comfort to know that all mums are struggling with the same things. Thanks!
Hello, Jodi. Its funny to hear someone else talk about their cleaning routines. I use to spend pretty much the whole weekend deep cleaning my apartments. I was a working mom of one child at the time and the weekends I had off. Well, not really off, lol I had done this for years and finally one year, after my divorce, I met someone who loved to go for rides, go tent camping, fishing so the weekends began to get filled with other stuff to do. And guess what? The apartment didn't fall apart if I didn't clean.lol fast forward, I have retired, and am remarried. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. The aches and pains that I thought was just my job at the time, or from getting older wasn't the cause. So my body finally said, "you need to slow it down". I now do my basics every morning, I am still on my job time waking up at 6:00 am. I make my bed, get dressed, have my coffee, do the dishes. If on some days I can't get that done, I always have tomorrow. Some days I have my regular energy and can do more like the deep cleaning. But it depends on what my body says now.and boy do I listen, lol it doesn't make us less a person if we arent in a state of exhaustion making sure our homes are spotless. When we meet our lord those at the funeral aren't going to say, " gee, I'm going to miss her house. It was so clean". They will be remembering the person you are, right? Keep up the great job and I will continue to watch each video. God Bless!!
I love you and your channel - your English accent cracked me up yes I'm English and I hoover with my Dyson - I think you need to double the time based on the fact that houses are way bigger in the states 😁
So true Jodi. My home is the cleanest it has ever been and I feel like I don’t do much cleaning at all. It took our family a few months to get to this point and a lot of hard work in getting good daily habits but it was definitely worth it. I essentially clean a clean house every week but that’s why it doesn’t take long at all. Great job..looks like a good system too. X
Hi Jodi, you did a fantastic job as always, keep up the great work, once you’ve found a system that works just customise it for you, most houses in England are tiny compared to yours in the states, we very rarely have utility rooms (laundry rooms) our washing machines are normally in the kitchen, and yes every vacuum is a hoover even if it says differently on the machine itself 😂Love your energy and you lovely lady ❤️
I think this is a really important point. We have 4 bathrooms and it would take me at least 15 min just to do a quick counter wipe down on all of them on a good day!
I've been following this method for 4 years . You get quicker . I always stick to 30 with level 2 other I resent it . And you're back there next week so 😊
I clean when it needs it but I've found that I clean the best when I'm mad. That's when I'm able to get rid of stuff, throw junk away and deep clean. My problem is I have OCD and when my kids are kids and are messy, I take it as they are making more work for me. They are just thinking, I'll do it later and has nothing to do with me. I get mad and clean, no one wants to help cuz I'm angry then I'm overwhelmed. It's def easier to clean if you stay on top of it. I'm starting to realize that I won't have a CLEAN house until all 3 kids move out 😂😂
Oh my gosh! I thought I was the only one that went through my house cleaning and pitching like a tornado when I'm mad. That's it!! My home needs someone to really tick me off 🤣 so I can get it done!!
Kramer T-shirt for the win! OMG! I am familiar with this system and I think it works well. Please remember that homes in the UK are most likely smaller than your home. It is almost unheard of for a European home to include 4 beds/3 baths and big rooms. No need to put pressure on yourself regarding the time it takes you to complete your daily tasks. It's quite possible the Organized Mum might be able to clean much quicker but that is ok. You are doing great and your home looks better and better! 😀
@@ninadukette3340 I have to admit I watch a lot of American UA-camrs and I am horrified by the amount of stuff that fills their homes ….basements that are bigger than my house ( not joking ) and attics , sheds ,garages and then as you point out storage units . In the uk obviously we also worship at the alter of consumerism and my mother is a hoarder … I am extremely happy that I found minimalism as the way forward for me . Jodie is however doing great and I actually think she is doing very well at simplifying her home 🏠
I found if I use a tray of some form in the bathroom to put all of the items on that it makes keeping the bathrooms a lot cleaner. It also makes cleaning the bathrooms a lot quicker. You can click pick the whole tray up to clean the bathroom counter off. It also allows my kid to be able to clean up after himself because he knows all his items go back on his tray. I hope that helps.
Thanks for the reminder that a little bit every day adds up! I needed to be reminded that I can clean a little section if I don't have time to do the whole area and the house is better off for it.
This looks great ! You are ahead of the game because the bedrooms are going to be nice and clean with new paint. LOVED THE VIDEO OH WHAT A GREAT HUSBAND you have 🥰😍 so nice he does sweeping and landrary. You are very blessed see you next time
This is the first of your videos I've seen and its great to see such a normal person with a normal life!! I'm in my 20s with no kids but I live with my fiance and we're always struggling with how to clean and stay organized (especially with ADHD lol). I'm definitely going to try this, it already looks like a very realistic way to stay clean!! Love it
Love your giggles are what you are finding. Love it, made my morning! My husband and I like to play guess the expiration date when we find something that's like way past expired.
WOW, this is how I clean. I didn't know there was a method for it, lol. My kids are grown so I don't need to worry about that part. I do live in Michigan also so, the only deep clean I do is the outside of my windows and the window tracks. I also realized that the less inventory I have the less I have to clean 😁 love your videos
I totally agree with this method. Each and every day I do the 'usual' cleaning and then try to do an 'extra' chore. This keeps things operating well in our home. I chucked about the 'hoovering' the carpets as we say 'vacuuming'... I love English accents too!! Keeping up a home IS work...but like you I also love my home and feel happy when things are neat and tidy. Great Video!
Hi Jodi, Lannah here! I'm wanting a home to easily clean or keep clean. I'm still in the messy middle of decluttering and minimalizing things I don't need or use anymore. I do some secret slob and a bit of fly lady and now a tad of organized mum! Thank you for being vulnerable to share the journey! I love your laugh and appreciate your positivity.
Thank you for your honesty and spunk. I have looked at various home cleaning systems when I was in my late 60’s & still working full time anywhere from 8-12 hrs per day. I finally retired in 2019 but life changes on a daily basis for you so cleaning must be flexible for your individual needs. I have taken many ideas from these systems plus advice from users on You Tube. I do daily tasks, deep clean once per month then maintenance clean. I do like her idea of Friday cleaning. I cannot say I do it weekly but I try. I have daily tasks suited to my lifestyle. Finally after cleaning my house for years (now I’m 70 yrs old) I have a clean home & get compliments from friends and family!!! Those remarks make happy & gives me a sense of accomplishment.
Jodi, I'm so "stinkin" proud of you!! I love that you are so self aware and work hard to better yourself. You've done an amazing job at decluttering and now tackling the cleaning of your home. I can't wait to see your progress! I love cleaning channels, I hate to clean but honestly feel motivated by them, so definitely show more of these videos too. I really admire how you can identify an area in your life to work on and just go after it! You've got me excited to go clean my nasty baseboards lol
I do like watching the secret slob, and how she tweaked the flylady system to suit her. You should do the same for this system. Looks like you've already started to tweak it to suit your needs. Very interesting.
What a cute dog! We have family come by about once a week and I’m always in a mad dash to get the house clean. On the surface my house is pretty clean, but I feel like I hardly ever get to deep cleaning. I think starting a system would help me a lot! 😊 Great video!
OMG I relate so much to all of this. We lost our dog less than a year ago, I only clean when something looks dirty, and I also discovered T.O.M.M. through That Awkward Mom on UA-cam and thought I might actually be able to do this! I love that she (Gemma Bray on UA-cam) values having the weekends off and encourages tweaking things for your unique life and dwelling. For example, I can just clean my floors during the Level 2 room cleaning or the Friday Focus because we no longer have a pet and I don't have any small children anymore. Here's how I've broken down the daily bathroom chores (yes, I like using alliteration to help me remember): Monday - Mirror, window (since the same product is used, I just clean the window at the same time as the mirror and remove it from the Friday Focus list), counter and sink Tuesday - Tub and/or shower (I choose a different wall each week but the tub/shower base gets a quick scrub every time now) Wednesday - Wash & Wipe (do the bathroom linens such as towels, bath mats, and fabric shower curtain liner as the laundry task for that day + disinfect door handles and switches) Thursday - The Throne (a.k.a. toilet) Friday - Floor (I just go over it quickly on my hands and knees with a wet wipe because a deep clean is done during a Friday Focus) On a side note, I think that dusting the walls, light fixtures, and any surfaces like shelves and cabinet tops should be added to the Friday Focus list before washing the floor because there's so much toilet paper dust as well as skin cells and other dust that gets everywhere. Otherwise, you can just add things like that and wiping down things like drawers and cabinets whenever you sense a dirt alert.
Fly lady was the first system I tried. I use some of her methods now, but find I've also watched others and taken things from them as well. Decluttering is what I really need to step up on. Never seems to end. 😥
After I vacuum, I dump the contents under a bush in the yard. Birds peck through it for soft things to feather their nests. I also do the same with dryer lint and the hair from my husband's head after giving him a haircut. On nice days, the hair-cutting session takes place in the yard. It's kinda cool watching the birds as they fly away with the strands of hair.
Jodi I LOVED this video. I used Fly Lady starting out but now I do my own thing. The system really taught me to THINK about cleaning and the tasks in a different way.
Hi Jodi, “why are you cleaning a clean house?!”😉💗 you are doing great! I love how REAL you are, it’s so refreshing!!Makes me want to deep clean every room in my house. Keep up the good work!
I'm currently on day 3 of trying the organized mum method and I am loving it so far. I have 4 kids age 1-12 and this really feels like such a good fit. Loved the video
love this idea of only a set allotment of time, today after watching your decluttering videos I decided to try and get half of a very deep and long closet decluttered. Living in the same place for thirty years sure does bring out a lot of memories and we live near the Canadian border in Northern New York that I needed blankets and pillows for my entire block. Then the issue came we live in a super rural area - more cows than people on where to donate all these blankets and pillows before my husband wanted to store them in another bedroom, like that would solve this over cluttered home of ours. My eldest daughter suggested the animal shelter so I called and they would take the blankets but not the pillows so those are going to the dump but we headed to the animal shelter and dropped those off, the most gratifying feeling of making my home a little less cluttered. thanks for the inspiration.
Hi there sweetie pie hope you are well just take one day at time Good luck with your new cleaning routine I do the Fly Lady system its great I didn't know this called I just learnt from my Mum how she cleaned I love Steph from the secret slob and Awkward Mom Ariel love from Eugenie your friend xxx from Australia 💜🌟🏡
My mum-in-law is English and my husband lived in England a few years as a child. He still has an English accent at times. We’re quite a pair with my southern accent and his English. We like to watch the Great English bake off and they call cookies biscuits. I’m still learning after 8 years.
Hi Jodi. Did anyone ever tell you in the billions of comments That you can clean your Window screens with your steam thing instead of washing it? Just blow the dirt from inside to the outside and they you just have to wipe down the frame with a cloth. Great tip for everyone with hay fever as well because you don‘t have to Touch the pollens… I really love That you are so brave to Share the dort in your House. It helps so much! Just discovered your channel a few days ago. Especially because you talk all the Time and don‘t use the annoying music. Thank you so much for Sharing your Journey!
In the first three minutes, your description of your cleaning or lack thereof fit me to a T!!! I cant wait to see the end of the video and how it works out
This is my first time watching your videos, and you’re so relatable! I too struggle with decluttering and cleaning. I saw this method on another video and immediately jumped on it, because it seems super simple for me. I started giving it a try last week. I agree with you on the whole “start right away not next week” thing. That’s what I did. I started this on a Tuesday too. Also, from reading the info on their website, it says you can customize the lists to your home, so it’s perfect for me. I get overwhelmed with cleaning, and this gets me started with a little at a time. For the first time in my life I was able to wash, dry, and fold laundry. If I wait a whole week to do laundry, by the time I get to the folding, I just don’t want to do it. It stays on my couch until the next load. 😂 it’s hard to stick to just 15 and 30 minutes tho.
Hi Jodi, English lady here 🤣. I use an app on my phone for housekeeping chores that uses a traffic light system. (Green for clean, through yellow, orange to red for yuk level). I have a daily list of quick but necessary tasks and then weekly/bi weekly jobs split by room. Also have a longer term/spring cleaning type list for jobs that need doing once or twice a year. I am very much a list ticking type of girl and it works well for me. Ps my house is also a cluttered mess but definitely making progress and I loved watching you clean your “clean” house.
Hello from New Zealand! Just started the organised mum method this week and so far it’s working well! I have a robotic vacuum in the lounges so it does my main areas everyday (cheat lol)
❤ this Jody! Cleaning is so emotional for me, guilt, anger, joy, but never ever been organized. I’m going to go with your inspiration and give it a start. Thanks so much for this channel, really enjoying it.
Smaller bits soon add up to big wins. When a child learns to read, little success breeds success and learning to clean house is the same. You got this!!
Hi Jodie I’ve been following you for a while, I’m English and live in England and to hear you do our accent cracked me up I laughed so much , I don’t think I ever realised how we must sound to people who aren’t from England. I do love my Dyson and hovering to get them lines :-) I’m loving all your cleaning and decluttering videos because you are so honest!
Hi Jodi, I clean every Monday, but my son is grown, I don’t have any pets or small kiddos around, I also work part time , but my OCD requires it. 😂, honestly ppl are either super organized or they are not, everybody has their strengths, I wouldn’t beat yourself up, do what works for you. 😊
Such a good video, very inspiring. And madam, you have the best laugh! I've subscribed so looking forward to being entertained and inspired lots! Love from Wales
I 100 percent agree with you I like reliastic videos like yours that are a mess Videos watching someone cleaning a clean house we all know that is not how life is I love messier and dirty the better Makes the before and after so exciting and interesting to watch Plus gives me motivation that all things are possible Thank you Jodi for being real
I love that you use the old school type of washer with the agigator. I have one as well and they seem to be so much more sturdy than the front loaders that so many people have.
My daughter has a front load and does not like it. I bought my top load less than 2 years ago and when I need a new one I’ll probably get another top load❤️
I love this system,it helps having a small home in England lol less to clean! But it's a good system ,once your in the swing of it it definitely helps keep on top of everything. The bathroom gemma says do one thing each day clean loo one day floors next day...
Hi Jodi! I have 2of those fans that run year round because my house has poor air circulation. I clean mine 4x per year and they look like that everytime. I put the removable fan guard in the tub, spray with bathroom cleaner & let it sit while I do something else. In 5 minutes I come back & rinse it off, then I use a toothbrush for any stubborn spots in between the grid parts. Finally flip over and repeat for the inside. Then let drain for about 20 minutes in winter, 10 in summer and dry off the rest. I do the same for our 3 box fans. ( Each box fan gets both sides removed, so that's 1 box fan that day.) But not all in the same day. Cut doggy you were dogsitting with, temporarily. It's way easier to have a checklist and a set amount of time to clean. There WILL be times when none of it gets done....and that's OKAY because that's what life is, adjusting, doing and taking breaks, and tweaking things to work better.
I'm disabled, so I just do things as I have energy & when I see they need it... Like microwave got dirty because my soup overflow- I clean it right away... I just do a bit of cleaning every day, mostly when I wait for the kettle to boil so I can make tea or coffee ... Since you have 4 people in your house and more than 1 bathroom, what if you relegated a few of those things to the girls? Maybe they can start doing their own laundry (I started doing mine & my brothers when I was 11)... And maybe they can do things like take out bathroom garbage, sink wiping and taking dirty towels to laundry area... By the way, your husband is definitely a keeper! He does most of the laundry AND vacuuming??!!!?? Wow! I am super impressed & jealous
Jennifer you are one of those people I’m in awe of. Doing things right as they need it and a little a day ❤️ Yes the whole family pitched in with chores.
Enjoyed this video. You really showed what the MUM method is really like. I like that you did things they were not on the list. And wrote it down. I think I am going to try it myself.
I have just recently discovered TOMM and I am keen to get started with it. With 3 small kids and my untidy nature, my house is very cluttered and the cleaning doesn't get done nearly as regularly as if should. So I need to de clutter and do the boot camp clean before I can even start with the daily stuff and that is not going to happen in December with all the Christmas stuff everywhere, so early January will be all about getting rid and getting cleaned.
Yes! More videos of this cleaning system please! Another system that I have on my phone (and I don't use much yet) is called Motivated Moms. She also has some daily tasks plus deeper cleaning ones listed daily. Just FYI (and if you compare the two, share that too please!)
Thanks for the great review. Fly lady stressed me out just watching other people talking about it. I work full time and it just seemed very “Stepford Wife” to me. I just started organized mum, but spent the last few days really working hard at getting a baseline clean in most of my rooms before I worry about the timer. To start, I made my own individualized lists for daily, weekly, and long-range plans. For example, I added cleaning pet feeding area, watering the plants and the one takeaway from Flylady, swish and swipe. And since I have no kids, I changed the order/type of rooms. Lastly, I added daily laundry tasks just to make it a bit more mindless, sheets on Monday, towels on Tuesday, etc. So far it seems promising.
Great job….I’ve been trying to do that also …I do 15/20 minutes quick clean. And every day I do a room as long as I’m not babysitting the grandchildren 😊❤️
Awesome Jodie 😊 I just love your personality ❤️ Your remodeling looks great. And I'm sure you want to keep the new fresh feeling. It takes an average of 15/20 mins to clean the whole bathroom. Here's a tip when you sweep your floors bathroom etc. Sweep baseboards too. That way they don't build up 🥰
Oh Jodi, you are right on with your cleaning. Your the best!! I wish you all the best with cleaning an tidying your home. I'll be the first to say your cleaning a clean home. You go girl!!!!❤️
Hi Jodi! Thank you so much for all your videos! You said previously that you did not have the motivation to clean but what you lack in motivation, you surely are making up with your enthousiam! 🙂 I m French and lived 7 years in the UK. Now I work in Paris and most of my colleagues are Americans. So for me I learned the british way of speaking before learning the american way. I totally relates when you were talking about the differences in pronouciation. You made me laugh and I'm going to check out the Organized Mum Method videos. Thank you so much for inviting us into your home and keeping it real! You're doing a great job! Hang in there!
Hello there Jodi, I've been meaning to say HI for a while now as your video popped up on UA-cam and I have been binge watching you for a week now , I love your content , very satisfying and motivational, and I'm loving the British accent as I'm from the UK myself. I always wipe down my cooker after every use as grease is a nasty thing to get rid of if its sitting there for too long , and jus clean as and when you can, or it can get overwhelming and then you fall behind , and I get my kids doing their own rooms etc , I have two girls 13 and 14, and 2 boys , 8 and 10. Keep up the great work, take care
Hi Jodi, I'm new to your channel. I've started watching your decluttering videos now. You've done an amazing job with the cleaning routine. But be aware in England we live in smaller homes, so the 15 minute quick clean I'd give yourself 30 minutes. Hopefully you'll transform your home too a clean one that will take no time at all to clean. Keep up the good work, loving your positive attitude and bright personality. xxx
Your home is looking wonderful you’ve come a long way from when I started watching your channel. My time of life is a wee bit different now only hubby & I so I close doors atm 😂. When (5) kids were home I did remained of home and they cleaned their rooms every week on a Saturday vacuuming & mop and threw their sheets into wash. Then once a month did room deep cleaning which evolved skirting boards, windows &sills, ceiling fan and cupboards mirrors doors. I started this as they turned around 7, I of coarse helped them till they were old enough to do. I must say only 1 a boy at 13 worked out (heard me repeatedly say) and asked if he started doing bits and pieces through the week come Saturday he could go off with his mates. 😂
Thank you Linda 🤗🤗 Funny his different all the children can be and what a smart boy that wanted to get it done early to spend his Saturday having fun 😍😍
I never really realized that I was doing things like an “organized mum”! This is basically what I do already, and if I don’t do it for a few days I always regret how much work there is. But usually it doesn’t take much time to do this quick stuff every day. I have the same areas that I focus on and I had no idea I was doing a system that someone else created. This cracks me up.🤣 definitely imperfect but also kind of awesome. ( Editing my comment because I wrote this when I had only seen the level one tasks. I’m really interested in her level two stuff. I usually resist any kind of system somebody else makes up, but I’m liking this and I like that you said we can tweak it to fit our own family.) One other thing that I’m doing there is a little whiteboard thing that I have for my kid comes home from Middle School. He has one small chore a day. I often have it be one tiny thing that I didn’t quite get to. Like sweep the kitchen floor, or do the dishes, or throw in a load of laundry. Are usually get home from work before he gets done with school, and I can do my little routine of cleaning and then leave one thing for him.
Christian you are already doing it 👏👏👏 That’s so fantastic! Yes I was honestly shocked at what a difference the quick imperfect cleaning and tidying made. And getting everyone involved it the best ❤️
I store several new trash can liners in the bottom of our small trash cans. I learned this tip from the hospital where I worked. After the environmental service workers removed the full trash bag, they would simply grab a new one from the bottom of the can and pull the top of that bag over the top rim of the can. This method not only saves me the extra step of retrieving a new bag from the place where I used to store them, but it also decreases the total amount of space needed for storing our supply of trash bags. Whenever I've pulled the last bag from the bottom of the trash can, I know to add it to my shopping list. Also, one way to save money on the cost of bags is to turn the bag inside out after you've transferred the contents into your larger kitchen or outdoor trash/garbage can. This, of course, doesn't work if the contents of the bag are gooey and/or just plain nasty. Most of the time, however, our bathroom trash can contains things like soap wrappers, empty toilet paper rolls, dried/used Lysol wipes/vinyl gloves, band-aid wrappers, empty toiletry bottles (like shampoo and conditioner), disposable razors and their packaging, cosmetics, medications, store tags from new clothing, and excess hair from our hairbrushes/combs. I don't consider any of those items as being nasty. So, I just dump the contents, turn the liner inside out, spray a little Lysol on it, and then place it back into the trash can. I know some people who don't even use plastic liners. Instead, they just wash and disinfect the interior of the can.
I am also not really the best at cleaning simply because I’m just not a “maintenance” person inherently. What I mean is, and I don’t know if there’s a psychological term for it or whatever, but I am more someone that does things where’s the definitive start and a definitive end. Like DIYing things, coupon hauls, etc, are all things that have a start and a finish and NO maintenance. We don’t upkeep our completed craft projects or completed baked cookies, etc. Theyre done and that’s it. But with cleaning, and I’ll go ahead and admit, beauty regimes for me as well, are things we have to always maintain. There is no definitive end to laundry, washing our hair, dusting, feeding a newborn every two hours (I don’t have kids yet). Hopefully I made sense. But still I hope to get better at the discipline of the fact that maintenance things still need to be done whether I like it or not
Princess totally makes sense! Your analogies are always the best!! Yes no definitive end to any cleaning and I’m one trying to wrap my brain around that.
Yes! I never thought of it that way. I guess that is why I work better with the timer system. Because it gives a beginning and end. The whole room is not finished but the ringing of the timer is the finish.
I keep sinks rinsed every time they are used. I’m always quickly wiping counters with just a wet rag sometimes baby wipes. I wipe spills as soon as they happen. I make sure showers are able to air dry to avoid mold/mildew growth. I do the load of laundry a day. Sweep or vacuum living room/kitchen every evening. Vacuuming the large surface area of your floors in the home as often as you can keeps dust at bay. (I hardly ever dust my house and it’s fine). Do dishes/clean kitchen throughout the day and before bed (key to this is having decluttered the dishes so they have to be done).
You're fun to listen to!!! I am trying this method as well(along with tweaks & additions). I did Flylady method for 13 years but I need to mix things up sometimes!
Last night, after I saw your video, my family and I rewatched the new version of DuckTales. They had this funny scene about how to pronounce garage between Uncle Scrooge and the boys 😆.
Never really thought about needing a cleaning routine as my house is pretty neat and organized until I realized this weekend that I spend several hours Saturday and Sunday cleaning. Then it hit me that maybe if I did some stuff during the week, I wouldn't have so much to do on the weekends!! I was going to start on Monday but put it off but I am going to try it today (Wednesday) and see what happens by the weekend. It will be nice to be able to just do a few tasks and then have the rest of the day to do whatever else I might want to do.
@@jodidunnmymessylife1847 After only the first day, I realized it's not going to work the way I want so instead I am planning on doing TOMM's Level 1 things but instead of doing the other daily tasks and Friday focus, I'm going to use The Secret Slob's Zone Cleaning printable. After the Level 1 tasks, I will pick some items off the printable to do as well. The TOMM printable just didn't work for my house.
Congratulation with you have come so far. Your rooms look so good now. I love both your decluuering and cleaning videos. :) Yes, I would LOVE to see more cleaning videos.
I love this video! I think I will give this system a try! I love watching cleaning videos, one of my favorite channels is Jamie's Journey. Thanks so much for sharing, Jodi. You are doing an amazing job. You should be so proud!!
Oh my GOSH! I NEH-VER! thought about a system BUT. I surely need one. I get lost in cleaning and it seems that is all I am doing so I do it grudgingly sometimes. Smh! Keep ‘em coming Boo!!
I have so much stuff to get rid, but I'm starting the cleaning routine too. I think it's going to work well especially once the clutter is gone. I have more rooms then are covered like our basement. I like your idea of adding weeks, but I might try adding 15-30 minutes to the Friday focus day. Good luck Jodi, I can't wait to see more videos!

Kat thank you for sharing that! Gives me hope ❤️❤️❤️
I'm starting to realize that I won't have a CLEAN house until all 3 kids move out 😂😂
Oh my gosh that is the truth about kids 😂😂
It’s way harder to keep a clean house with children 🤣
@@jodidunnmymessylife1847 - and with ADHD hubby
Change the WiFi password and whoever wants it has to complete designated tasks in order to get it 🤣
@@PrincessMultiracial that would work if my kids weren't the ones that have to set all of that stuff up!! 😂😂 Technology does NOT like me!!
Becky thank you so much for the encouragement ❤️❤️
I’m not familiar with UK homes so that definitely makes sense.
Yes absolutely right ! I am in the uk our average home is about 800 square feet and in the USA it’s about 2500 I think .😃
@@samwatts3378 Yes, bigger and we still need storage units. Sick.
Thanks for this tip - I will use that.
Thanks for the reminder that a little bit every day adds up! I needed to be reminded that I can clean a little section if I don't have time to do the whole area and the house is better off for it.
I think the way you adjusted your schedule and time the way you did is making the cleaning of your home easy for you. 👍🏾❤❤❤
❤️❤️❤️
Love it
Hi Katie 🤗🤗
So glad you enjoyed the video. Yes this system is helping me a ton!
Love your giggles are what you are finding. Love it, made my morning! My husband and I like to play guess the expiration date when we find something that's like way past expired.
I loved to watch this video. I could watch you every week working of your list 😅
Thank you ❤️❤️❤️
I am doing the organised mum method for years and absolutely love it ❤
WOW, this is how I clean.
Yes it’s such a peaceful feeling. Thank you Heather ❤️
Nice work in progress, totally fun and interesting to see a system put into practice and how you modify it.
Yes! More videos of this cleaning routine OR ANY ROUTINE U WANNA TRY!!!! ITS SUCH MOTIVATION!!!!💙💙💙💙 I love u Jodi!
Awe thank you Monique ❤️❤️❤️
It's good that you are trying. You are right, you have a beautiful home.
Brenda it is the best feeling getting compliments on your home ❤️❤️
Congratulations on your retirement 🤗
Jodi, I'm so "stinkin" proud of you!! I love that you are so self aware and work hard to better yourself. You've done an amazing job at decluttering and now tackling the cleaning of your home. I can't wait to see your progress! I love cleaning channels, I hate to clean but honestly feel motivated by them, so definitely show more of these videos too. I really admire how you can identify an area in your life to work on and just go after it! You've got me excited to go clean my nasty baseboards lol
Thank you so much Kimberly 🤗🤗🤗
I would love to see more!
You are an inspiration for sure!
Amy I know the mad dash all too well 😂😂😂
Hoping this will help me change that to just a slow quick dash 🥰
@@jodidunnmymessylife1847 There's an app for this
OMG I relate so much to all of this. Here's how I've broken down the daily bathroom chores (yes, I like using alliteration to help me remember):
Monday - Mirror, window (since the same product is used, I just clean the window at the same time as the mirror and remove it from the Friday Focus list), counter and sink
Tuesday - Tub and/or shower (I choose a different wall each week but the tub/shower base gets a quick scrub every time now)
Wednesday - Wash & Wipe (do the bathroom linens such as towels, bath mats, and fabric shower curtain liner as the laundry task for that day + disinfect door handles and switches)
Thursday - The Throne (a.k.a. toilet)
Friday - Floor (I just go over it quickly on my hands and knees with a wet wipe because a deep clean is done during a Friday Focus)
On a side note, I think that dusting the walls, light fixtures, and any surfaces like shelves and cabinet tops should be added to the Friday Focus list before washing the floor because there's so much toilet paper dust as well as skin cells and other dust that gets everywhere.
Loved this and your personality is amazing.
Jodi I LOVED this video. I used Fly Lady starting out but now I do my own thing. The system really taught me to THINK about cleaning and the tasks in a different way.
Debra that’s incredible!!! Great job friend ❤️❤️
Hi Jodi, “why are you cleaning a clean house?!”😉💗 you are doing great! I love how REAL you are, it’s so refreshing!!Makes me want to deep clean every room in my house. Keep up the good work!

Thank you!! I know I get that “bug” too. Let’s do it all. Then I come back to reality and so no Jodi - one day at time
I'm currently on day 3 of trying the organized mum method and I am loving it so far. I have 4 kids age 1-12 and this really feels like such a good fit. Loved the video
Awesome Katelyn ❤️❤️❤️
Is the organied mum on a website?
love this idea of only a set allotment of time, today after watching your decluttering videos I decided to try and get half of a very deep and long closet decluttered.
Love your joyful attitude!
Thank you Cindy ❤️
Hi there sweetie pie hope you are well just take one day at time Good luck with your new cleaning routine I do the Fly Lady system its great I didn't know this called I just learnt from my Mum how she cleaned I love Steph from the secret slob and Awkward Mom Ariel love from Eugenie your friend xxx from Australia 💜🌟🏡
Thank you so much Eugenie ❤️❤️
My mum-in-law is English and my husband lived in England a few years as a child. He still has an English accent at times. We’re quite a pair with my southern accent and his English. We like to watch the Great English bake off and they call cookies biscuits. I’m still learning after 8 years.
Oh my gosh Jan that’s so fun! It’s so funny how we all have our slang 😂
LMAO @ Omg, I'm on a roll. And your face when you dusted the bedroom mirror.... Love it!
I was in through shock. I could have sworn I cleaned it when I had my bedroom painted but apparently I missed it 😂😂😂
Hi Jodi. Did anyone ever tell you in the billions of comments That you can clean your Window screens with your steam thing instead of washing it? Just blow the dirt from inside to the outside and they you just have to wipe down the frame with a cloth. Great tip for everyone with hay fever as well because you don‘t have to Touch the pollens…
I really love That you are so brave to Share the dort in your House. It helps so much! Just discovered your channel a few days ago. Especially because you talk all the Time and don‘t use the annoying music. Thank you so much for Sharing your Journey!
Thank you so much A N 🤗
Great job! I'd love to see you do this type of video again. Love all your videos.
this gives me the drive to clean my own messy home ^^; thanks
I am just like you where I feel that I have to deep clean and can’t stop so I don’t start until it drives me crazy. Thank you for showing this to us.
Angi I’m glad this was helpful. If I can do something to narrow the 2 hour long deep cleaning sessions I’m doing it 😂
Hi Jodi, English lady here 🤣.
Love your videos! I really enjoy them!
Hi Chris 🤗
Thank you so much ❤️
Hello from New Zealand!
I’m so happy you are enjoying my videos Roxanne 🤗🤗
Yes I know the emotional side of cleaning and it’s never been good emotions for me 😂
I will say I am impressed with how well kept the rooms you have already done are. Nice work!
Cassidy I was shocked myself 😂
Smaller bits soon add up to big wins. When a child learns to read, little success breeds success and learning to clean house is the same. You got this!!
Thank you 🥰🥰
Hi Jodie I’ve been following you for a while, I’m English and live in England and to hear you do our accent cracked me up I laughed so much , I don’t think I ever realised how we must sound to people who aren’t from England. I do love my Dyson and hovering to get them lines :-) I’m loving all your cleaning and decluttering videos because you are so honest!
Amy you sound incredible to me 😍
I’ve already been told my impersonation of your accent is quite bad 😂😂
But I’m gonna keep trying
I live the longer videos. You did an amazing job!
I found it a nice easy system to follow and it works really well
Yes ❤️
Hi Jodi, I clean every Monday, but my son is grown, I don’t have any pets or small kiddos around, I also work part time , but my OCD requires it. 😂, honestly ppl are either super organized or they are not, everybody has their strengths, I wouldn’t beat yourself up, do what works for you. 😊
Kay you are so right. I’m good at lots of things. The cleaning thing I’ll figure out eventually 😂

Definitely want to see more !

Doing things right as they need it and a little a day ❤️
Yes the whole family pitched in with chores.
Enjoyed this video. You really showed what the MUM method is really like. I like that you did things they were not on the list. And wrote it down. I think I am going to try it myself.
Thank you Sherry 🤗
The timer really helped ❤️
Oh thanks for sharing. I’ve never heard of that one.
I absolutely love ur videos!😍😍
Love your video. I’m looking forward to more
Thank you Jacq 🤗
If my house could as clean as yours when you first started, I'll have made a big change! This was a great video.
I am right there w ya girl lol ! ALWAYSSS struggled to clean!

Thank you so much for inviting us into your home and keeping it real! You're doing a great job! Hang in there!

Oh my gosh that’s so funny. You got it from all the different angles.
Keep up the good work, loving your positive attitude and bright personality. xxx
Hi Simone 🤗
Thank you so much for sharing that ❤️❤️❤️
Your home is looking wonderful you’ve come a long way from when I started watching your channel. 😂
Thank you Linda 🤗🤗
Funny his different all the children can be and what a smart boy that wanted to get it done early to spend his Saturday having fun 😍😍
I usually resist any kind of system somebody else makes up, but I’m liking this and I like that you said we can tweak it to fit our own family.)
One other thing that I’m doing there is a little whiteboard thing that I have for my kid comes home from Middle School.
Christian you are already doing it 👏👏👏
That’s so fantastic! Yes I was honestly shocked at what a difference the quick imperfect cleaning and tidying made.
And getting everyone involved it the best ❤️
Girl, you're almost at 10,000 Subbies?!
Carolyn I can’t even believe it! So so excited 🥰🥰
Sounds like you have a great system that works for you April 👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️
I just love your channel. You are so funny. Great video.
Thank you so much Louise ❤️
Love this method! Yes Jodi give us more like this! Awesome job!
Thanks Debra ❤️
You're fun to listen to!!! I am trying this method as well(along with tweaks & additions). I did Flylady method for 13 years but I need to mix things up sometimes!
Hi Liss 🤗
Yes mixing it up is a must ❤️
Last night, after I saw your video, my family and I rewatched the new version of DuckTales.
Kelly yes! Cleaning all weekend is no fun. I hope it works better for you ❤️
@@jodidunnmymessylife1847 After only the first day, I realized it's not going to work the way I want so instead I am planning on doing TOMM's Level 1 things but instead of doing the other daily tasks and Friday focus, I'm going to use The Secret Slob's Zone Cleaning printable. After the Level 1 tasks, I will pick some items off the printable to do as well. The TOMM printable just didn't work for my house.
a dutch cleaning mum here have a nice day
You did great! It will go faster as you get used to it- these are my daily tasks too, and it’s a breeze
Thank you Nancy ❤️
That puppy is so adorable
She is so sweet Cindy ❤️
Congratulation with you have come so far. Your rooms look so good now. I love both your decluuering and cleaning videos. :) Yes, I would LOVE to see more cleaning videos.
Thank you so much Jeanette 🤗🤗
You're doing great, her system looks pretty easy to follow compared to others I've seen.
Shannon that’s what I thought too. And simple I can follow ❤️
I love this video! I think I will give this system a try! I love watching cleaning videos, one of my favorite channels is Jamie's Journey. Thanks so much for sharing, Jodi. You are doing an amazing job. You should be so proud!!
Julie I like Jamie’s channel too 🥰
She’s a cleaning machine
Oh my GOSH! I NEH-VER! thought about a system BUT. I surely need one. I get lost in cleaning and it seems that is all I am doing so I do it grudgingly sometimes. Smh! Keep ‘em coming Boo!!
Yes!! Exactly how I felt. This is helping a lot ❤️
Hi Judi love what you have done very interested in see more of the system good on you for trying
Thank you Linda ❤️
I have so much stuff to get rid, but I'm starting the cleaning routine too. I think it's going to work well especially once the clutter is gone. I have more rooms then are covered like our basement. I like your idea of adding weeks, but I might try adding 15-30 minutes to the Friday focus day. Good luck Jodi, I can't wait to see more videos!
