Prayers for our fellow Kentuckians. My employer got with us workers and seen they really needed cleaning supplies. I think our little plant of 25 sent 2500 worth of supplies. And I have liked the punch for Margaret's carry guns. Her hands can only handle the 22 cal pistols. But she hits well with them. Be safe and take care

Thank you Scott.Glad to hear that your employer stepped up! These folks are going to need help for a long time to come. The .22 magnum Federal Punch has won me over! It's pretty mean in .22lr as well!

Scott, for a low recoil round, have you tried the 380 ACP? I know some women who really like this round because it's so low recoil yet more powerful and reliable than a 22 rimfire round.

@@LA_Commander yes sir I tried her on 380acp. The pistol was the Bersa thunder. She loves how it felt in her hand, but the weak hands she couldn't work the slide at all. I am thinking on the MP 380 ez. I think she could work the slide ok and it's close to her MP 22 compact. Thanks for info👍👍

    • @LA_Commander
      @LA_Commander 2 роки тому +2

@@scottmorgan1016 Oh ok, yeah the MP 380 might be better. Getting her on a 380 would be a better option. However, a 22 is a LOT better than no gun at all. Take care.

I'm a former MP with the TN. State Guard. I was also the Chaplains Assistant. We deployed to the Waverly TN. Flood where I worked unloading trucks and distributing supplies to the survivors for 2 days, and assisted the Chaplain the other 2 days, ministering to survivors. We listened to their stories and I can tell you now, we both probably cried the most of those 2 days, and prayed the rest of the time. I wish I could have the opportunity to come to Ky. and try to help, but unlike the National Guard, the State Guard does not deploy out of state. I can't take off work without deployment orders. I'm sure praying for the folks there though.

Take the grip off the Ruger 3 inch and get the hogue tamer grip on the 2" lcr (it fits the 3inch model) and you have a smaller, handier, and concealable package... Big difference.

The .22magnum seems to benifit a lot with just a bit more barrel. I would say more of a difference than most calibers. Also both these rounds performed great. I would feel comfortable with either after these results.

WOW. I am looking at purchasing this same revolver, sort of scoffed at it until you said 175 ft lbs energy. For a .22 that's hot and goes from questionable to smack into 38 Special/.380 energy range, all while penetrating adequately. Very fast for a 3" barrel, so everything is tight in there, I think my 4.75" Heritage threw the Punch at like 1,150 FPS. I would say with the bullet penetration, expansion, velocity and all of that, everything is meeting the "just enough" standard and looks like a Goldilocks revolver.

Just a thought... You might want to backup/anchor the gel block to the bench.
The bullet energy can be focused on pure penetration vs moving the gel block back. It may help penetration numbers.
Like I said, it's just a thought. It may or may not make much measurable difference. But it would remove a hindrance to pure penetration numbers.
Thanks for all the great videos.

    Regarding velocities...
This isn't just about adding another inch of barrel. Across a lot of calibers, a Ruger revolver barrel will often "spit faster" than an S&W revolver barrel. It's been that way for years. It might take a 4" barrel for an S&W to catch up to this 3" barrel Ruger.
This test may also show what kind of velocity, penetration and expansion you might expect out of a 4" barrel NAA Minimaster or similar.

Buffalo a fellow never knows from one day to the next how any number of things can drastically change our lives from what we think is normal to bad to horrible situations. Always remember to think God Almighty for what we have and help others where we can .

If I had a firearm chambered in 22wmr those would be my choice for ammo. Awesome work.

I realize different day, different gel block, etc. can have a big effect on results, but go look at two other Buffalo's Outdoors vidios, "MIMI-MAG vs MAXI-MAG from a 3" barrel (BALLISTICS GEL)" and ".22 MAGNUM RIFLE VS REVOLVER IN BALLISTIC GEL (CLOSE RANGE)". It seems like MAXI-MAG 40 grain from the LCRx 3" out performs both of these 22wmr defense($$) rounds.

I need to get one of those LCRX 22mags today...hahaha...your having way to much fun...
I wish ruger would have made a 327 3" LCRX...357 is way to much for that little gun..38 is boring..😊.. a 9mm 3" could be cool also

How about a 4" barrel? I'm trying to decide whether to get a 4" or a 6" barrel. Thanks for the videos!
