This was very interesting
Thanks man!
Question for you I have a 2002 Jeep TJ with 2.5 l manual 5-speed think this would work and build boost ?
What ratio between crank and supercharger pulley are you running? It "sounds" like it's close to 1:1.
How do you think it would go on a 1982 ra60 toyota celica with a 2L 21r-c engine?
You should run the two in parallel, aka side by side. Get a 2-in-1-out intercooler. That would double the boost they make, without overspinning them.
any thoughts on how well it would work on a 1.8 forte?
Thanks for all the great info still want to supercharge my b18c1 but don't know what route to go seeing how Jackson superchargers are so hard to find and I can't afford a pro charger just wonder what else I can do
Junkyard turbos
This supercharger is the perfect thing for a 1.0 liter nissan Micra
How do you think an amr 500 would do on a 2004 vw jetta 2.0L, only revs up to about 5500-6000 not looking for huge gains, just thinking it would be pretty neat!
I think the engine would still be too big to have any gains.
you know any superchargers that would be slightly bigger for B20 non vtec 7000rpm right now possibly 7500-8000krpm if i go with some cams
What do you need to install that is there a bracket you had made or anything I need to research like pulleys and belts etc?
Yes, lots of things. Check out the other videos in this series.
Thoughts on putting it on a 99' Subaru Impreza outback 2.2 ( I think). Do you think it would benefit putting one in? Or save up and do a turbo instead? Thanks and appreciate the video quality!
A 2.2 would require a amr1000 dont trust that this amr500 past 1.6 ir even 1.6 from what ive seen around
Damn I was thinking of using it on my integra ,hm but mine is a basic zc solo cam no v tech 1.6 I don't wanna turbo
Do you still have the Del-Sol?
What about installing in my VW Polo 1.4cc 75hp? I want some power without modifying too much. Will it work well?
Then you definitely didn't watch the series because this is alot of modifications
nice work! But i have a little question, i have an 1.8L engine max RPM is 6200, in that case do you think i can use the amr 500? How much PSI boost i can get from it?
You would need ~3 revolutions per engine crank from the sc to see gains. Calculate pulley size and redline and see if your injectors could keep up with the extra liter of air or so.
-short: google supercharger calculator
If you could find the pulleys to get a 1 to 2.63 drive ratio you should get full boost (15psi) across the rpm range. At 6200 the sc will be spinning at 16250 rpm and pretty much maxed out. At that point the only major issue is heat mitigation. Most people who don't have sucess with these have intake Temps in the 200+f range. Better have a good intercooler. If your car already has 150+hp you probably won't see gains because the efficiency is too high. If you dropped your max rpm to say 5k or 5500 you would be way more likely to be able to use this sc.
You had to remove either ps or ac for the supercharger right?
Justin Mammana yea, this car has both already removed.
how do you think this supercharger would do on a 95 ford escort 1.9L 4 cylinder redline at 7000rpm
Do not take a CVH engine above 6k. You're asking to spin bottom end bearings. You would be better off with a Mazda BP in the protege and escort gt if you want to go that high
Did you make boost
That's what I want to know, saw the clip but it said zero on the gauge
Thanks for doing this for us all hahaha, i think for similar price a Mercedes clk230 supercharger would probably make some boost atleast!!!!! maybe could try in future! they are a sealed 1 piece unit just need to mount.
There is another video showing real dyno results running this supercharger. The technician was showing real time gains of 60hp and 70ft lbs torque. Only after a minimal amount of tuning. Find that video and watch it.
Carnt find it, you mean it added 60hp?
Amazing build!! I was thinking to get one for my 1.2 ltr engine with 6500rpm redline you think it would get significant gains ??
Thanks bud, on a 1.2L it might be perfect. The lower rpm will really help. Just make sure you measure your pulleys and get close to the maximum supercharger rpm.
I have 1.2l max 6500rpm engine. Works fine with 1:2.7 ratio so I'm over reving it a bit. I have videos on my channel
Change make a smaller pulley
you think it would work ok on an integra 1.8?
Probably not. Vtec is very efficient at pulling air
I’d love to have the super. I have 1.8 non be a great add. Plse consider. I bought in 96 and still have it.
Kent Hartis Check out this video for details on the giveaway! ua-cam.com/video/EILV_89eHRU/v-deo.html
Please what and your pressure in psi?
fizz41100 - 0 psi
The max pulley ratio equation you have in the description make a lot of sense, .96l x2(four stroke engine!) Is basically 1.9l, so only a perfect efficiency would provide tiny boost, but don't forget charging the air increases the temperature of the air, which lowers the density, therefore negating any effective boost. Thanks for your work and the video, very enlightening!
I wanted to put one on my 2013 Ford focus five speed do i need to tune the amr??? I need answers plz💯💯💯
I got 2012 se focus I was wondering if it would fit
@@isaaccade9136 i asked..it doesn’t fit because there’s no space in that area need a different motor to run it🤦🏾♂️just join mk3 ford focus mafia on FaceBook any and every question is answered there
honestly i think you should've scrapped the stock plastic flanges on the 500 and made your own the same size as the square ones on the casing for max airflow, would change restriction and possibly better airflow at higher rpm.
I'm trying this next, there will be videos on my channel
JoniK you have an email or Facebook? I have a 1.5ltr Hyundai Getz that I’m supercharging with the amr500. I can show you images. I’ve made flanges to suit and running a front mount cooler. I’ll also be running haltech 550.
@@danielzechariah7263 Yes Facebook Joni Kallioniemi
I feel like I've seen this car bro.r u in GA
Lino Acuna yessir
So for a d16y7 you would say i would see some gains
Alex1Down5Up you could man, but it’s really hard to say.
You need some kind of fuel control.even a drop in FMU wood greatly improve the result.
It has a Jason Waters Tuning ECU in it. An FMU would only help if it actually made any boost.
A eaton m45 is maxed around 210hp and is 0,75l per rev. This is 0,5l and cant spin faster. So its pretty much maxed at stock hp and that is if you spinn it att 17k rpm...
It’s to small to build boost
Fuel control is already there, most stock ecus can easily handle supercharging because it's engine speed dependant.
Supercharger for until 5k rpm then a turbo for 5k to 7,7k twin charge setup
You took the sticker off?
Yea, I had to, it’s not super anymore.
Well, I waaas thinking of putting an AMR500 on my Porsche 924 2.2L, but I can see that won't work... Guess I'll have to use two 😁
Richard Roper yes, it’s probably just too big of an engine for one.
I was thinking to do this supercharger on my hemi 5.7, do you think it will work?
Max rpm: 5500-6000
Ahmed Bin Sulaiman I’m sorry to say that it won’t work, it cannot supply the volume of air needed for a 5.7 V8. Maybe if you ran three 2.0L supperchargers
You would lose a lot of hp
Giveaway? Do I hear one? 😅😅😅😅😁😁😁😁 I’m with it 😂
ThaLifeOf Shabazz LOL, I may do something with it in the future.
Lol you had my attention at “supercharger”. 😂
I’m think I am going to do a giveaway of this supercharger. Details coming soon.
Ayeeeeee! Now we cooking with gas!
Hahaha
why no boost?
Can you email me a build spec sheet if I pay you for it. I wanna put this super charger on a b16A!!!
I heard this is too small for a b16
A few builds have used m62 eaton supercharger
It is from a mercedes slk 230
Imagine being so broke that you hit a del sol and think “I can’t afford to fix that!” And taking off in a panic.
Hahahaha
Guy probably didn't have a license or had warrants
Haha I’m thinking about doing this to my shit box Sentra 2.0 base . Automatic just to do it
Damn, sucks that dude did a hit and run on ya, that's crap.
There is a video of a guy with a 1.6L beetle getting 11.5 psi from this supercharger. You are doing something wrong.
Beetle engines are not efficient engines at all. They also don’t have any kind of VTEC. And 1.6L is smaller, and would therefore work better.
what i think you should of done is make a y connector so the supercharger will connect to one end and atmosphere and a filter on the other end and then both goes into the engine, i think the supercharger can`t deliver enough air for your engine. Just a thought
If you did that any boost would push out the filter.
@@kasuraga no it won`t, the the engine is a N/A so the engine will suck from that, and its a y connection, it will be easier for it to go into the engine than around an out he other side, twin turbo cars have y connection and that doesn`t happen
@@pk6336158 the supercharger has an intake side and compression side. you HAVE to run a continuous closed pipe from the compressor side of the super charger, to the throttle body. The intake of the supercharger gets a filter.
thats it. no y pipes anywhere
twin turbo cars dont have issues because you have TWO compressor sides pushing against each other so the only path is to the throttle body.
but you CAN Actually have them surge and one compressor will stall and flutter as boost gets forced out the turbos inlet
@@kasuraga Yes but the supercharger is restricting airflow when it can`t keep up with the engine demands even tho the supercharger got a air flow part, that`s why it feels faster with it off, and it depends on the angle of the y connector.
@@pk6336158 thats not how air works, im sorry, but if you have positive pressure inside a chamber it will always find the path of least resistance. ANY hole in the charge pipe would cause boost to leak out.
also, it doesnt seem like he EVER tuned it and just slapped it on, so the engine would be running pretty lean under boost. with tuning, if the supercharger was large enough, it would created more power, however, because its belt driven there would be parasitic losses on the low end of the curve
It's a restriction in the intake
We are giving this Supercharger away!!! Check out this video for details! ua-cam.com/video/EILV_89eHRU/v-deo.html
