What’s interesting is that most of these people were part of the commentary community before doing this shit like Burdie, The duck, and Slash were part of channels called Tagswag, Engween, and Pointless

I admit my older content is nothing I'm exactly proud of, but I feel that goes for most creators. To this day I'm trying to create better, more original content every day.
I've talked to many of these guys before and I can confirm a lot of these dudes are in it for a quick bag not gonna give any names, but we know the people.

personally I liked those game reviews, and even though it was repetitive, it was enjoyable and entertaining.

I used to watch these guys (in particularly Burdie and The Duck) and the appeal is like you said the relatability aspect, and I think the repetitiveness adds to it a bit due to me being someone with an unhealthy obsession with routine and repetition, but quickly noticed the issues you pointed out. To add credibility to all these channels knowing each other Burdie and The Duck are brothers according to them.

honestly watched these videos when I just started vaping, but they really fell off when I was hitting the weed. thankfully I have been 1 month clean so they can kick rocks
im an ex smoker at 15 and making it look fun and simple as a simple stickman animation is just targeting kids (i do actually watch ninye and i find him entertaining) but ive been through the drug phase and wish i never did so these videos feel like they are going to fuel the next generation of smokers

man I like watching the smoking stickmen from time to time not because I actually trust them in giving good life advice (they're the last people I'd go to for that stuff) or because they keep it "real" but because the content is just what I need to unwind after a long day, y'know
its funny to watch and that's all most youtube viewers want at the end of the day: not something deep or thought provoking, just something funny that they can enjoy
of course there's a market for things that actually invoke thoughts, its just not as big as the market for comedic, light-hearted videos

Watched these vids in the middle of 8th grade while I was going through personal things and the way they promoted smoking/drinking as a quirky awesome thing really made my temptations grow as a 14 year old but never tried any of it only strong thoughts. I soon became addicted to watching all of the videos by all the clones (mostly Buride/Duck) even though I knew they kinda sucked and I really hate that I did it made me view things so negatively for almost a year.

I’m honestly glad that this video has come out because I was almost gonna fall into the trap but than your video comes out and I begin feeling like that these channels favor slang and slander over talent and research and I’m so sick of content that instead of talking about the flaws on gen Z in a reasonable and mature manner these channels and a lot of the gameplay commentary channels that were blowing up in 2020, 2021 believe that low hanging fruit and stereotypes are the best way to go

I'm happy someone finally covered these eye-catching youtube channels. I first stumbled upon ChainsFR through youtube recommending it to me, I watched one video, didn't think of it too much until I checked his channel, after inspecting video after video I noticed that every video covers a same topic over and over again, the comments weren't much better too, hopefully, these eye-catching channels would change (or worse, fall off), thank you Sournale for covering such topic, I appreciate it very much!

The rabbit hole actually goes a little deeper, as I know the Birdie guy has a second channel called TagSwag where he does story times with gameplay in the background like it’s 2016, think Luna or Scrubby, but somehow this genre has persisted as there is tons of these gameplay story time channels that still have a cult following. Odd.
And the duck is some fuck up named engween and they are “brothers”. They sound the same but believe me they 100% are brothers

unironically one of the best videos on youtube probably, im so happy at least ONE person is speaking out against this garbage, its beyond refreshing and gives me hope for humanity and the skit at the end was genius, its all capitalizing on just one idea of stereotypes and spamming videos about it and getting cheap and easy money, and youtube actually promotes these kinds of channels which is even worse,
Context: Burdie and The Duck are brothers. The Duck has another channel called Engween (or something like that I don't remember right now) which is his main. The Duck was a character he made as a way to expose how PNGtubers are repetitive. Pretty ironic in my opinion.
