I grab an angle finder, check what the machine is at, then try to get the bucket as close to the angle of the machine as possible so the pin goes in smooth. Sometimes I can push them in by hand. This one required a couple taps with the sledge.
Great Video A little trick to make life even easier fitting the bucket put you tipping link into the bucket first put a smaller bar through the the pin hole then pick the bucket up and dangle the bucket to fit the main pin crowd the bucket and then fit the tipping link pin? Cheers Steve over the pond
I came to see how the pin goes in. Just smack the pin I guess. I sheared a pin off I have the replacement pin and have it started on the one end and was going to bash it in and push the old pin out at the same time. I don’t have a hydraulic press so time for muscle.
Bra air over hydraulic foot pump and an eagle pro 30 ton hollow single acting ram. Have had this setup about 8 years and I haven’t had a bushing that I couldn’t pull within reason
Thanks for sharing, looks like you’ve refined your process to be efficient, I like that. It took you 2 hours it woulda taken me 2 days lol
Would have liked to see how you inserted the pins. On my backhoe it has been a problem taking a couple of days when working alone.

try using a straight torch head with a scarfing tip it works really well
I use a straight tip, just a 90* torch head. The gouging tip doesn’t work very well for me
Nice job
Explaining the entire process. Then filmed none of it.. genius
Check my main channel and I have a detailed video of it

What pump and jack are you using?

If you own an excavator, always have on hand a few cases of grease along with an electric grease gun. The machine and your wallet will thank you.
The real question is>>>WHAT IS GREASE? LOL
