Airlines operate very differently in relation to flight pay. In the uk you are payed from the minute you check in until the minute you check out. No downtime in between flights.
The UK has (for now, at least) decent employment rights.
Not all airlines you are paid from when you check in, some are from when the aircraft door is closed
But don't they pay less in UK?

I can’t believe some airlines don’t pay you for boarding and only when wheels unlock and then lock at the gate!
Luckily I get paid the second we report at the gate (at our report time).

you're lucky. canadian flight attendant here as well and we don't get paid for boarding.
What’s a shame as I see so many times flight attendants, helping people with their luggage they have to check the isles they have to help people with seatbelts. I do not understand why they do not get paid as soon as people start boarding at least

I feel awful that you’re mom is going through so much. My mobility issues are neurological & lack of mobility. Doctors are still getting me in more PT & more physical work. First they ran tests on a possible stroke I could’ve had, but that was negative. Also my epilepsy could’ve gotten worse. I go into the hospital for a while so tons of tests can be done. Hugs & prayers to you & your mom!!

Of the so called 3 day trips, I used to be happy with the fake three days trips. Flying the last flight on day two back home on the a "red eye" flights over night during early early early hours. After landing, I used to get home to my apartment at about 9 o'clock in the morning. And I would crash in my bed!!😅😅😅 And still in bed for the rest of the so called third day!! 😅😅 Oh boy!!😅

Mom passed with cancer at 47. Time will help heal the loss. And it’s ok to mourn whatever way you need to. We are all here for

Let the FSM know about the CLT shuttle, they are not supposed to fill up while a crew is onboard because you are legally in need of 8 hours behind close doors and if this was a RON and this happened y’all would be under crew rest delay. Ugh.

Im new to the channel and love the videos. My sister has been a FA with AA for almost 40 years. When I graduated college I thought I might try the airlines, so i applied at Northwest, Usairways and Delta. I was too tall for Delta but Usairways wanted a second interview and Northwest flew me to Minneapolis for a 2nd interview. I ended up not going to the Usairways 2nd interview and got a job offer from NW, which I ended up turning down, and im glad i did. Watching your vids made it clear to me that the world of travel was just not for me. It looks exhausting! I'm one who likes routine and an office to go to. I'm glad that your vids confirmed that 👍🏼
In my opinion, when you guys arrive on airport 🛫 property and suited up in uniforms, you should be considered to be "On Duty" and be paid as such, and not when just when working in flight ✈️ on the plane😢😮. I hope 🙏 that your Unions are successful in getting that changed; you all are overworked and under paid for what you have to deal with on flights ✈️ in today's society. Prayers 🙏for your Mom ❤! Was so surprised to learn recently that it is unpaid. In between flight time should also have some type of compensation.Be safe, healthy and happy.😇✈️

Nicely done ! I did that for a couple of years then ended up as a travel rep on the Greek Island of Crete ...similar stories on airport day start work at 4am for first arrivals then back to back coach trips until midnight...then up at 6am to drive to first hotel for one of five welcome meetings..absolutely wasted come Weds night !!. A lot of unpaid hours and goodwill ..its a hard job ...respect :-)

Bless you, I was a flight attendant with Continental before they merged with United. The entire not getting paid until the door closes/opens, the rude customers, the lonely time alone in the hotel, the other FA divas being dramatic and that Newark to Miami or Ft Lauderdale trip. FFS.
I’m glad I tried it out, did what I always wanted to and learned it sucks!

Wow!...you have Mia recovering and your Mom is having difficulties...you need to catch a break!! Hope they figure out what is going on with your Mom and she can be recovering soon too!! It makes no sense for FA's to be out sitting in an airport because that's where your airline has flown you and you are not being paid for having a "sit"...to me once you arrive on your plane per your reporting time you should be getting paid especially since you are required to be doing your safety checks, etc. Makes no sense to me...hope you have a good Union. Take care and have some good days off!!
