Cliff will always be the best, but Jason was awesome! The reason he started playing with a pick is because when he was a teenager he played through multiple layers of skin on his fingers. That's metal as fuck!

Jason was the perfect replacement for Cliff. Bad ass bassist and backing vocals. Too bad James and Lars had to be controlling dicks. They finally realized this when Jason left. Robert is a bad ass bassist as well. Just not a good fit for Metallica in my opinion.
I agree, he was the "tightest" bassist they ever had. Cliff was a legend, but Jason should have been given much more respect than he got.

You should check out Metallica- Anesthesia Pulling Teeth it's a bass solo by Cliff Burton. You don't hear many of those.
