I'm never not blown away by this video. I love this concert, it captures one of the world's greatest bands at the absolute peak of their abilities. It makes me literally proud when I watch people react to it lol.
This bassist is Jason Newsted, who replaced Cliff Burton after his death. This is his first tour with Metallica. He was a super fan of the band, and was very much loved and respected by the fans.
Battery means three things here. Battery is a source of energy, like playing a live show is. Battery is another word for assault, violent like a live show is. And lastly, Battery St is the area of San Francisco that Metallica lived and played in when they were younger, it was their home.

Btw did you know Dave mustaine the guitarist and singer for Megadeth was in Metallica? He was their lead guitarist and wrote a lot for their first record before getting fired.

Absolutely love the Master Of Puppets album. Every song on there is amazing. However, with this song opening the record, it rest of it was a let down compared to Battery

This song is why I started with the 2nd track on the album when beginning to drum.
What's even more impressive about this legendary performance is this was one of the last songs on an almost 2 hour set.
