I was actually wondering about this with regards to 1st Ed Jungle. I noticed a few cards on eBay (including a few I bought recently) that weren’t aligned.
I thought so too. I have cards ORIGINAL FROM THE PACK AND 1999 that I opened almost 25 years ago and their alignment is a bit off. I guess Walmart scammed me 20+ years ago.

Awesome video, truly appreciate the info! Im curious about how this applies to other 1st edition sets tho. I noticed some Jungle and Fossil on eBay isn’t quite aligned this closely!
Shadowless is the way. Being able to spot it due to positioning and some minor errors is good for now, but what when they can consistently position the stamp correctly and make minor changes to the stamps which is wrong at present?
I literally went back and checked all my PSA 1st edition base cards after watching this video... I only knew to spot the obvious fakes like the stamp that was placed way off from the corner
Rattle's been on top of this for quite some time. He is always helping his peeps in discord spot them and has shown examples like you did here on multiple occasions. Glad you guys are helping educate people on these fakes. It's a shame so many shadowless cards were ruined to make this counterfeit trash.
I ran to my first edition binder again. First time after rattle now this. Getting worried that in time it’ll be almost indistinguishable. Even people who handle first edition cards can be fooled with a few of these.
How is it possible that the T always lines up with the border? Are the 2 aspects applied at the same time in the printing process? Seems strange that the 1st edition stamp is NEVER misaligned slightly?
I agree with this. As someone who works in printing, the only way this is possible is if the first edition stamp is printed at the same time as the rest of the card, meaning it must be part of the same file as everything else. Which we know isn't the case because shadowless were printed first then first ed stamps were applied to a proportion of these shadowless afterwards. This is why we get different variants of first ed stamps like ghost stamps or 3D stamps while the rest of the card text remains unchanged. So since we know stamps are applied after the shadowless cards are printed, it is entirely possible for the card sheets to be shifted slightly on the table making for subtle imperfect alignment. Another reason I think this is possible is I recently bought a bunch if first ed cards from a card shop and the first ed stamps looked indistinguishable from normal stamps you would expect to see on commons and uncommon, (no thin stamps or messed up fonts) however, on some of the cards, the stamps were unfact ever so slightly misaligned from the picture corner.
