That thing is fully loaded compared to the 95 Taurus Wagon I bought my son as his first car 9 years ago. It was a baby blue base model Taurus Wagon with manual windows no cruise control and a bench front seat. It was also a Fleet version used by the state of Florida and only had 31000 miles on it. It was also in extremely good condition so much so that I sold it for double what I paid for it for years earlier. The only option it had was the rear-facing third-row seat that had never been pulled up. I know that because it still had the plastic on the vinyl seats and it had the original Taurus floor mats that were still in their bags. Thankfully it was the second generation Taurus not the third generation. I work in the Auto industry and we used to nickname these third generation Taurus wagons Cosmic roaches
I found a mercury version wagon of this car a 2002 only 19k miles garaged it's hole life it's Iike i im buying it right off the assembly line I had a 1999 ford taurus not a wagon. That car lasted me 13 years it was my baby my ever day driver she sadly had too be put down last year but it was a hell of a car
I sold it a couple of years ago. Sold it to folks who were planning on keeping it for the long haul. It's always nice to make a car endure for those who value it.
@@42luke93 the one my family had had horrible speakers, and only it the back trunk door, yet the head unit did have a cassette deck (same vintage as the one featured in the video).
i wish mine was radio only, the one with cassette deck used to break all the time leaving you with a stuck cassette or a non working deck, mine got stuck and drained the battery dry all the time, it was a common failure and many people threw away perfectly working tauri because of the faulty cassette deck... also the door switches failed a lot and reported an open door to the bcm, the bcm will never go to sleep mode and ended up, guess what? draining the battery and if left unattended, the battery was permanently damaged, and people got fed up of buying new batteries all the time... as usual ford did nothing to fix these problems
What? Wow that’s nice! I like the older Taurus sedans a lot!
Yep, I still manage to sell one every year or so. It's always best to get one with the transmission overhauled because eventually it will need one.

Oh wow that’s nice the low mileage ones exist. Also by “overhall” do you mean there was a recall? Or just one with it rebuilt?
@@42luke93 rebuilt or replaced.
The wagons are the best

Yeah with a third row.
What a beautiful survivor.

Nice wagon. I'm looking for an 86 LX Taurus wagon in red with gray interior, but the gen 1s from the 80s are hard to find today.

Do the 2nd row seats fold flat?
Yes.
I never realized Taurus sedans of this generation were offered with no cassette player/cd player too.
@trucker life
Probably fleet ones. I suspect actual consumers got a cassette at least.

I owned and loved several Tauruses (Tauri?) from this generation. Great cars but check the water pump. Notorious for failure.
Ugly? Hell no. Nice body style...
