  • so far two of my viewers have asked what scope they should use on a break barrel / springer pellet gun. since this is a Hot topic I will show a video as to what Scopes I have used on both my rifles. the Winchester 77xs. and the model 34 RWS / Diana. those scopes include the Winchester scope that I got on the Winchester 77xs, the RWS scope that came with the RWS Model 34, Cvlife's scope, and a UTG / Bugbuster scope. We will go over topics such as the difference in recoil between the guns, how to deal with this recoil, different things to look for in a scope. specifically the break barrel has recoil like a crossbow that being double recoil. if you want more information on this quickest way to get it is to look it up but you can also comment and ask for me to make a video on it.
prices may shift. it's a normal occurrence on Amazon.

You have the recoil backwards. The spring (bow string) pushes the gun forward first. Firearms push the gun back into your shoulder. Most scopes aren't designed for severe forward recoil. That's why spring guns can break even expensive ones.

There are no scopes out there that are rated for springers & I wish people would stop saying there are. Shockproof is what you're looking for with an etched glassed reticle. Shockproof should mean just that. Double recoil on these small pellets guns, I just can't see how that can compare to a scope mounted on a 300 Savage 30.06 or 308 those rifles kick especial the Savage it's like a mule. Even if the recoil is kicking backward it's 1000x's harder then a pellet gun hence more violent then double recoil.

@@TheCleaner6969 Nice essay. All scopes are fragile, Dum Dum. That's why most guns come with iron sights.
Springers produce the same reverse recoil that crossbows do. Have you ever heard a crossbow user claim that they don't make scopes for crossbows?

@@TheCleaner6969 The only difference between putting an appropriate scope on a crossbow and putting that same scope on a springer is that the scope that gets put on the springer is going to have way more shots run through it because of the cheapness of the ammo
You don't have to keep your expensive scope attached to your springer when you're just plinking hundreds of rounds at soda cans. That would be 'tarded.

@@similaritiesendhere The only iron sights I like are on my AK only cause it ruins the look of the rifle to me, other than that I much rather a scope. As my eyes age I need a scope & see no point in buying to leave it off & sit around no matter if it's a $40 or $1700 scope. I bought it to use not sit. Plus it looks better to me. I'm not shooting at 10 to 15 yards like most.

I've had experience with the broken scope and with shearing off of improperly designed scope mount screws. It is truly amazing how much shock is put into the scope, mount and rings of a high powered springer. If you have a springer do yourself a favor and buy a scope and mount (and decent rings) designed for a springer and you'll be fine. A normal rifle scope will work for an amount of time on a springer but nobody can say how long of a time that will be.

I bought my Mrs a Gamo Barricade for plinking. That came with a Gamo scope and it was absolute dog shit, I zero'd it in and a couple shots later it lost the zero again, not just by a little bit, it was inches out at 30 yards. Ended up throwing it in the bin and put an old Hawke HD Sport I'd just upgraded from, I'd never trust a Gamo scope again and that was brand new.

It has to do with the Internal spring. Different styles of guns without the spring don't have the same problem.

i’d never buy a utg. even touching the eye piece, magnificent, or parallax will change the point of impact(POI). i would recommend any hawke scope. if your using a magnum springer get the hawke airmax. for pcp get the vantage which is their cheaper option. mild recoil springs the vantage will hold

Haven't experienced that problem with the eye piece, or parallax, but I do tend to favor a specific magnification, so that could explain why. Thank you for suggesting other scopes. I plan on looking into them

Million percent disagree with your commentator. I own many different brands of scopes for my air rifles. Hawke scopes are pretty nice, but a bit pricey fot their features. All my break barrels are running utg bug busters or true hunters. I have a a issue with 1 of my bug busters but with a lifetime warranty, leapers replaced it with no questions asked. UTG scopes are very reliable in my opinion.

No, 1-10 pump pcp. The pressurized container is in the stock. I had it since I was 12. Shoots .177 cal. pellets. it's a Winchester 77xs. Thinking about it, as long as you understand it is a pellet gun you are right. They just have the same way of propelling the pellet forward, so I call it the same thing, even if it obtains air from a different source.
