Less than half and inch of the stuff will stop a 12 ftlb 14.5 grain pellet no problem, at one inch you can literally hit the same spot 10 times in a row at point blank range and it wont blow through the back and catches absolutely all of the leftover lead which can be melted down into slingshot ammo or fishing weights (or more airgun ammo if you have the right equipment to make your own) it makes zero noise when hit also so if you have nosey neighbours who like to complain about the slightest thing/noise its an absolute must, yes it can cost a bit to have a lot of it bit for £20 ive made a 6 inch by 6 inch and 1 inch thick plate of the stuff and is my go to backstop. If you freeze the stuff the pellet wont even make it more than a couple milimeters through it, i even froze a pencil shaped piece and smacked it with a 500g hammer on an anvil and it didnt shatter, the stuff is remarkably good at stopping kenetic energy dead. Ive even used 1 inch wide broadheads on a wooden shaft arrow from a 40lb draw weight recurve bow and the tips barely poke out the other side, using field points it works even better at stopping them. Ive not tested it with any fac rated airguns or firearms so i cant speak on that though i would love to see someone shoot a .22lr at a 2 foot thick block of the stuff then pour plaster into whatever would channel would be created to see how deep and how much expansion it causes because it almost polishes .22 pellets with 11.5ft lb when it stops them and causes them to expand a bit due to how quickly it stops them
My freezer goes as low as -20 celcius for anyone curious and theres no cracking or any signs of stress. Using a 5.5 ftlb air pistol they only dent it and get caught by it at room temperature they make it aprox 2mm deep at point blank range. The Rifle brand has an extensive repertoire. STRs are the oldest, they were what I could use when I was growing up. I think they keep them out of nostalgia or for plinking into really bad guns.
Hi mate, thanks for joining us in the UK 😀 Which of the rifle brand pellets do you find the best quality? I don't think we have the full range available in the UK yet. What do they cost in Brazil? 😎
@@tillysgunstocks Rtx are the best. In .22 you can find a box with 250 units of 18,13 gr for 68 BRL (9,44 GBP). The equivalent 500 units box of JSB costs 140 BRL (19,43 GBP) for reference. Rifles are reasonable for us if price stays bellow JSBs costs.

@@tillysgunstocks I can go down to 10 grain and up to whatever you want , flat base only with the .177 die
I'm also Brazilian. These pellets group more than JSBs in some of my guns. The problem is that batch variation greatly influences constancy.
The Rifle brand has an extensive repertoire. STRs are the oldest, they were what I could use when I was growing up. I think they keep them out of nostalgia or for plinking into really bad guns.
Hi mate, thanks for joining us in the UK 😀
Which of the rifle brand pellets do you find the best quality? I don't think we have the full range available in the UK yet.
What do they cost in Brazil? 😎
@@tillysgunstocks Rtx are the best. In .22 you can find a box with 250 units of 18,13 gr for 68 BRL (9,44 GBP). The equivalent 500 units box of JSB costs 140 BRL (19,43 GBP) for reference. Rifles are reasonable for us if price stays bellow JSBs costs.
@@rafaelbuenomfc thanks for the Info mate. Quite a big price difference for the jsb then..
This tin of Rtx looks like it has some potential. If I get time I will clean them up and see if I can improve the performance.
We are quite lucky here though as we can get the h&n for around 10gbp for a tin. 😉
@@tillysgunstocks how much you pay in UK for Rifle pellets? I'm Brazil we haven't energy rules for airguns. So for everyday shooting, homemade slugs are more cost effectives. Some people develops good molds here.
Back in the day. All we had was the WASP PELLETS .177 CAL BRILLIANT. NEW STUFF REMINDED ME OF THE WASP😂🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉. 500 BLOCKS WER CHEAP 5.50.
@brettellis1837 more of a young buck myself but i remember using wasps and ended up using some calipers on them and a lot of them were .225 in size even though they were meant to be .22 🤣 (wish i had some i used to use to weigh them but alas they have been all used up) to be fair they did the job and put food on the table so i cant really complain, they did the job, i guess ylthe oversize of them ensured they had adequate seal against the rifling though would have been at a cost of fps and ftlb of energy (hence why slugs dont work in sub 12ftlb due to the increase of friction on the rifling causing a massive drop off to fps and overall kenetic energy)
Compared to what we have today theres a night and day difference
have you tried the jts .177 pellets yet? theyre not bad in my katrans
Not yet mate, I didn't know they were out yet in .177
I'll have a look for some 😉
@@tillysgunstocks i only found them at krale theres an 8.7gr and 10.4gr not too bad for a tenner nice and clean as well. got some of the different snowpeaks as well and theyre good for 3.50-4.50 a tin ideal for plinking
Brazilian eh?? yep some of those cheap pellets look as though the skirts were shaved.
You beat me to it, David.
Those landing strips are renowned for their straightness and precision.
@@SilasMoleCatcher Yes but they're awfully damp
😂😂😂😂 quality comment😊
if these are half as good & as affordable as the Apolo (yes one L) 33grn slugs I buy from IHunter for my FX FAC, that are made in Argentina, they will be good
Those samples look home made in a wooden hole from old fishing weights 😮
😂 you know what ,I reckon I could atleast match the build quality of them in my shed 🤔
@@tillysgunstocks Now there's an idea for an episode 😁
Top em.
Anyone else really hoping the shitty pellets turned out brilliant? Saying that, if they made them better, they could turn out quite decent.
I was hoping for a miracle... Tbh they actually grouped way better than I thought they would 🤔 kinda throws a spanner in the works for the microscopic tolerances we are usually after..
There are a better Brazilian brand which is called the FF Balistic Power and the FF Hellboy. They are more looking like the Skenko pellets. Try those.
I don't think we can get them in Europe mate. Are you in Brazil? I'd like to try as many different pellets as possible from all around the world 😉😉
Cheers!
what weight rtx?
Quoted weight of 8.33grain ... Definitely check out the second vid of these mate. They turned out really impressive 😉
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Hi fellas , just find the right pellet for ur barrel , and stick to that brand , swapping and changing makes no sense .... H&N every time for me ........for target work or Hunting ......
STR's look like the ones my granny used to make.... with her teeth...eugh
n1 bud
These pellets are very good. In fact, this was the brand used by the current WRABF Light Varmint world champion in competition. Other Olympic athletes also use pellets from this brand.
Who was the shooter using them? 😀
@@tillysgunstocksSilva Edgard Neto
Those pellets look like they have already been fired
The best ones are the ones with the flutes that look to be plaited around the waist🤔 I've never seen anything quite like it...
Bet they are leaving some shite in the barrel?
Interesting, but ashame that the presenter likes the sound of his own voice too much,
Tried themnin a few of my rifles..crap in all of them.....
What have you tried them in mate? Would be useful info for all of us..might save some of the crew on here a few quid 😉
@@tillysgunstocks ..daystate..crown...agt vulcan....s410...hw100....
The ones I have are stubby little things and aren't the best. Won't be getting any more
Do they look the same as the ones I've got here mate? Doesn't sound like it? 🤔
@@tillysgunstocks the ones I have are diabolo str
Those pellets look horrendous, it like they have taken pellets that have already been shot, gathered them up and sent them to you, 😂🤣😂
🤣😂 there's a few there that I'm particularly fond of. In the zoomed in pic there's a few that the flutes in the skirts are almost plaited together. They're like a magic eye picture.my eyes can't focus on them, just looks completely impossible a shape to make.
Realmente os str não prestam, qualidade muito ruim. Alguns modelos de pelets da marca rifle são de qualidade medianas, no .22 tem melhor qualidade. Chega agrupar bem em alguns rifles de ar.
Hi mate, are you in Brazil? If yes, thanks for joining us in the UK 😉
Is there any other versions? We have some slugs and the Str and Rtx .
Is there any other interesting pellets made in Brazil? I would like to try as many different ones as possible, from all around the world 😉😉
Cheers!
Sim!
The comedy Pellets must be Uniformly Deformed to get that tight.
I have a much cheaper rifle and I still get quarter sized groups at 30 yards using Crosman 7.4 grain Pointed.
Also nice consistent muzzle velocities, which I believe helps.
