- For the first time in six months, the City of Denver swept a large encampment without providing direct housing options to those impacted.
If so much of our resources weren't spent on illegal immigrants, maybe we could help our own people more.
Where they helping before
@@Jericho3030150 Yes, Welfare, Food stamps, food banks, etc. But there could be more, veteran's benefits, etc if we didn't give it away. I'm all for immigration, have an adopted child who we did the process for when we got her. But that's LEGAL immigration, with all the steps and responsibilities. She is an adult citizen and taxpayer now, and "giving back," contributing (a lot, in fact). Very different from *illegal* immigration.

A truly compassionate government would never have let this issue happen. Nor tolerate or enable this situation. Nor would they create out of thin air "sanctuary cities" without popular concensus. But here we are.
I cannot agree enough with you. Sactuary cities, increased homelessness, increased crime, higher housing prices... all a consequence of who is in office... this state needs to wake up and vote in legislators and governors who promote Colorado to excellence, not mediocrity and depravity
A lot of these people posses and use drugs, which means there is a "house" they should be "offered".
These people who complain about the homeless being in the neighborhood need to team up with the homeless and go up against the government to get this nightmare fixed.

The more we give the more they will take. These homeless advocate groups need to stop asking and asking for help they are attracting free loaders from all over the country.

I am a Denver native...I live far, far away from the down town area for good reason...Going
back to the seventies, eighties, nineties and early 2000 dowm town was a nice place to be.
I have not been there for a long time and I don't see myself going there any time soon .......
