I miss the 80s.. everything had a theme song back then
Yeah
Commercials were so creative. Those jingles and sayings stuck in your mind. "Energize Me!" "Live it to the limit in Wrangler" "Pizza Hut Pizza to Go!"
16:35 - A mere six months later, The Karate Kid would come out, and Elizabeth Shue wouldn't be known as the "Burger King girl" anymore.
I hope she makes at least a cameo appearance in Cobra Kai season 3. She is still gorgeous.
1:18 - Given that this was December 83, and the home video game crash was into full swing, people probably didn't have to pay very much for all those games Santa's holding here.
I really don't know what I'd do without this whole UA-cam channel.
This is 37 years now
So much nostalgia..
"If I got a sore throat I got it from you!!" lol
Saturday & Sunday Evening movies were EVERYTHING!!! Yall just dont know. Those 3 regular channels were all we had.
They just had better movies then
Before gift cards there was gift certificates
I saw Santa double.... dipping on.... batter-ies! Must get pretty sweet kickbacks that way!
Also that's some funky news music they got on WTHR!
Who tf really wants batteries for Christmas
Wow ! Commercials from my home town.
6:16 that's the most creative commercial for jeans I've ever seen.
I’m so excited to see commercials from my adopted hometown! 😊 15:28: I-465 may be blocked for several hours 😂. Some things never change.
I’m trying to get some of that 80s Christmas magic; it sure doesn’t feel like 🎄 right now. Hoping for an epic, out-of-the park Christmas next year.
These are so awesome. Please keep posting them.
👍
I was unaware that Mickey’s Christmas Carol was first shown in theaters; I remember watching it on TV in the early 90s. it was one of my favorites. It looks like it was packaged together with the Rescuers?
Yes, it premiered as a theatrical short that played before "The Rescuers". The first time it aired on TV was a year later in 1984.
@Hope Grimsley it was a practice of Walt Disney to re-release their animated movies every 7 years or so until they began to release them in earnest on video. I did see that particular re-release and then again in theatres in the late 80's with a group of 10 other men who just got off of work that afternoon...
I think that's Michael Bell narrating the Chuckwagon ad.
Man I miss McNuggets like that lol
Yeah, those McNuggets were way better and remember when the apple pie was fried and the filling was lava hot? Mmmm...
WTHR 1983 Christmas in Naptown!!!!
I live in Indianapolis (transplant Hoosier) and this is the first time I’ve heard Indy referred to as Naptown. The more you know!
@@hopegrimsley3427 it’s an old term used in the ‘60’s thru the ‘80’s. (Indy had a rock station in the ‘70s called WNAP). It has changed so much for the better since 2000!
@@kentuckianaboy hoping for a 2021 Carb Day! My favorite Indianapolis annual event.
Lol this is crazy. I was randomly watching and was like you got to be kidding me! Lol i was a kid going yo Eastgate mall. Finish line outlet, burlington, sports card place. Omg
@@hopegrimsley3427 nap is in india(nap)olis also the radio station.
snuggly softness feelsgood
18:08- when Snuggle Bear was unleashed on an unsuspecting world.
My Grammy said that bear reminded her of ME
NBC Movie Of The Week Intro- Impressive Animation On That Intro, Especially For Its Time.
Chuck Wagon Dog Food- Apparently, When Dogs Eat This Food, They Hallucinate By Seeing Tiny Chuck Wagons In Their Houses And Chase Them.
Q*bert- The Q*bert Heads On The Family At The End Of The Commercial Are Terrifying.
Duracell- Given How Many Electronic Toys He Has To Power, I Would Say Santa Uses Both Both Duracell And Energizer Batteries.
I Have QBert for ColecoVision
10:40 My nightmare fuel for tonight:
That whole Q-Bert commercial was frightening; like something out of the Twilight Zone.
@@hopegrimsley3427 It was designed to be, the narrator was impersonating Rod Serling.
@@80sCommercialVault and I believe it was referring to the season 5 episode called The Masks -- at the end the family's faces become permanently shaped like the grotesque masks they were convinced to wear.
Way creepier than the Call Santa commercial from the previous video (my opinion)
Wow, I think that was Lela Rochon in the KFC commercial as a worker.
16:36 Wow, Elizabeth Shue. Such a cutie.
Eastgate and Cub Foods wow. The whole Eastside is like a war zone now. And WZPL!
NBC Movie Of The Week -wish that the broadcast networks would start doing these again..nowadays it seems like Lifetime,Hallmark Channel and all the streaming services have this market cornered
Ambiance Night Musk-PUT IT ONNN..
Sucrets-that was cold, blaming her for his sore throat
The Yellow Rose-"I shouldve brought a bulletproof vest.." he thought while running towards a guy with a shotgun
Newscenter 13-Cameron Harper before he transferred to here in Phoenix for a time
Q*bert-mistiming the jumps onto the disk also had me going @+*%!
Diff'rent Strokes-they didnt learn their lesson from when they were hostages in the bank robbery
Manimal-being thrown into a table, that would be the point that triggers the transformation
Knight Rider-would help to wear seatbelts whenever the turbo boost is activated
Friday Night Videos-still have that episode on tape
Can someone tell me if that is Bob Gregory on the salvation army commercial?
Was that Drew Barrymore in the Hallmark commercial?
IMO no. This would have been over a year after "E.T."
No it wasn't.
