Those commercials USED to be limited to long "infomercials" on weird channels that nobody usually watched. Now the pharmaceutical industry is trying to shove a lot of that junk into "regular" ads, on frequently watched shows/channels...like weight-loss ads that explicitly show the excessive body fat on certain test subjects (as a "before" pic). We usually have the TV on at dinner time (and eat in the living room watching it), and I'm like, I'm trying to EAT here, and you're showing me THIS?!?
I actually think those are commercials for lawyers! Life was nice before attorney ads. And why? Because Howard Metzenbaum had an attorney for a son in law! Does anyone else here remember back when it was illegals for attorneys to advertise?
In 2022, its My Pillow and fake fruit and veggie pills that cost a fortune. The review comments for all of these say they're complete garbage but the ads run every two minutes. Suckers must be born every minute.
Wow. I remember just about all these commercials. Don't really remember the Plymouth Duster and Chrysler Cordoba car commercials. Been a long time. I'm a 70's, 80's child. 💖💖💖
Creepy Crawlers brought back a lot of memories. Does anyone remember Incredible Edibles that came out shortly after? Pretty much like Creepy Crawlers, but you could eat them. Oh the tummy aches!! LOL
I remember adoring the Right Guard commercial with the trick medicine cabinet. I thought the Duster was a cool-looking car (but too young to get one!). My mom loved Morris. My next-door neighbor used Dippity-Do. Josephine's sink looks just like mine growing up! (And in addition to Creepy Crawlers and Incredible Edibles, does anyone else remember Fright Factory?)
Ah, those old commercials when i was growing up. Mr. Whipple, Josephine the plumber, Morris and 9 lives. And " he likes it! Hey, Mikey !" The good old days ! LOL
One of my favorite things about the car commercials back then versus now, no disclaimers at the bottom of the screen proclaiming "professional driver", "closed course" and "do not attempt".
Haha, we had a Plymouth Duster when I was a kid. I don't think it ever occurred to mom to drive it through the neighbors' corn fields, for which they are undoubtedly grateful.
Does anyone remember "You got your chocolate on my peanut butter" No you got your peanut butter on my chocolate" it was a Reasys peanut butter cup commercial, I think with Donny Most from Happy Day's.
Poor Charles Nelson Reilly....from the original Cornelius Hackl in the original 1964 Broadway production of "Hello, Dolly!" to pitching kids' crayons/markers dressed as a banana----and then, as a "regular" on daytime TV's "Match Game"---ah, the MAGIC of Hollywood!!!!!

I don’t remember Morris’ eyes being that squinty.....and I agree with a lot of you,,,,life was better back then. I remember meeting my friends at the park in the morning, played until lunchtime, and after lunch going back to the park, or to a friend’s house 3-4 blocks away. We didn’t have to worry about being attacked, etc.....we left the front door unlocked until after dinner and we lived in the city, not out in the suburbs. I feel bad for the kids these days. They can’t just go out and play, it isn’t safe.
@@robertvillarreal4525 it is a joke. I am saying he is old now and the TV is too loud due to that reason. Also grandpa is being used to describe his age, not the fact that he may be an actual grandpa. :)
American Tourister luggage commercial at 2:28 is awesome!!!! and its true the luggage that they made could take a beating we flew tons of times when i was a kid in the 60's and 70's with those bags
Dippity-doo? More like Dippity-Don't! ... Whatever happened to Morris the Cat? But what a treasure trove of memories of a simpler time. Good times! Thanks for this!
that commercial would never be acceptable by today's standards. They had the camera right on little girls butts. people would be making complaints about sexualizing children.
Mr. Whipple, Rosie, Clara Peller, etc..... I remember these commercials and the people that made them happen... They used to advertise so many toys and games back in those days.... Sure do miss it!
I still remember the smell. Those Creepy Crawler (or Vac-U-Form) griddles got blazing hot, and sometimes you'd grab the metal mold after you took it out, forgetting that was also still hot. First time I got burned, my parents just hollered at me to be more careful. LOL Back then sh*t happened and it was ok - people weren't expecting everything to be super-safe, not like today.

45 yrs later & I still think of that slogan every time I see Charmin..
Charmin today's commercials suck. Can't stand those bears.
The voices of Charles Nelson Riley and Paul Lind are unforgettable.
I don’t know why I’m here if I was born in 86. I simply like how cute these commercial are. It tells a story and their funny.
I was born in 2002 and I love them.

Such a treat to watch classic commercials that have nothing to do with prescription drugs, their cures and deadly side effects!

Couldn't agree more. I'm getting so tired of those ads, too.
Unfortunately short lived as in the 80's they did start showing up...
Back in the day when every commercial wasn't about car insurance and pills.
And lawyers.
I love all these classic commercials thank you so much for posting.
These commercials are funnier than today's sitcoms!
@Steve Silvas Charles Nelson Riley was great! Back then there were lots of commercials about mundane items like pens and frisbees.
All retro commercials are more entertaining.
I got creepy crawlers for Christmas the year those were introduced. I miss the 70s, such a much better time.
Who remembers Incredible Edibles? 😀

My day has been made, listening to Ricardo Montlebahn talk about Corinthian leather. :-D
Robert Guillaume in a Bounce commercial! Talk about paying the rent. Ooh, and “It’s not nice to fool Mother Nature!” What a classic tag line.
Yup. ☺ Seems a lot of actors/actresses got their start in tv commercials.
The idea to put something additional into the wash machine...

Is Chiffon margarine still around?
They needed par-kay the talking butter in it,alongside chiffon, both butters could be having a very interesting conversation.

You didn't have to refrigerate Margarine back then.

Yes...I also had creepy crawlers. That was my favorite gift for Christmas.
Can't forget about Shrinky Dinks either ❤.
These commercials really take me back ! Love them.
I loved my creepy crawler set back in the late 60s. I left spiders and lizards all over the house for mom to find while she was vacuuming. lol

I could ask for nothing beyond the quality of Cordoba's workmanship. The luxury of soft, Corinthian leather.
Mikey was the commercial that everyone imitated for years & years.
