a. Israeli PM Yitzhak Shamir visits Washington D.C.
b. Syrian President Hafez al-Assad makes public appearance after absence (He had suffered a heart attack earlier that month that was complicated by diabetes. There was a succession crisis that involved his brother attempting to take power following his hospitalization. Assad eventually recovered and remained in power until his death in 2000. His youngest son, Bashir al-Assad assumed power and is the current ruler of Syria)
c. Hundreds of thousands march in the Philippines to mark birthday of slain opposition leader Benigno Aquino (He had been assassinated earlier that August following his return to the Philippines after living in the US to receive bypass surgery. His death sealed public opposition to the regime of Ferdinand Marcos, which he had been a vocal critic of. In 1986 his widow Corazon Aquino ran for President and won, becoming the first female president of that country and ending the 20 year-long Marcos regime)

That Coke commercial was very wholesome and heartwarming.
Hope everyone is staying safe and able to be with family, thanks for all the great content Commercial Vault!! This is one of my most favorite channels.
15:31 - I remember as a kid thinking those phones with the huge buttons being popular. I wanted one myself...
Me too!
Love that Ford truck commercial brings back memories
5:11 you know I always pronounced it kris-tal like the champagne. it never occurred to me to pronounce it the way he does 😂
That was a cool teaser for Christine. I only watched the last 10 to 20 minutes of that movie as a kid because I was waiting for another movie or show to come on. I have read the novel earlier this year and thought it was a great book.
Stripes is so good! Iv got all the funko pops. Ah the memories!
everything was better. and people were friendly
Love the technical difficulty, not going to lie!
We used to have a Krystal here but it closed years ago, but the Tuesday Morning is still open.
Once again it's always nice to see the end credits!
Honda Accord LX Sedan ad done by the Legendary Burgess Meredith - the famous Penguin on the 60's Batman show and has appeared in several Twilight Zone episodes. Also has done ads for Florida OJ, and Rayovac battery. His voice is Uncanny and genuine!
"Should jogging be banned?" wait, what?
We had a Tuesday Morning on Shelburne Road for years that closed last year. The owner of the chain thought that most folks were positive/in a better mood on Tuesdays which is where the name came from. They were sort of like Goodwill stores.
That's some impressive graphics on the Closed Captioning Bumper for its time.
I have a feeling that the Mother in the Campbell Chicken Noodle Soup Commercial was just playing dumb with the daughter, already knowing she wants the soup.
I have heard of that Tuesday Morning chain of stores before. From what I remember, it was a discount store, selling a variety of merchandise at low prices.
I shopped in a Fishers, IN Tuesday Morning location last year. It appears that, per their website, this is one of the stores that has closed. To be fair, the discount store space does have a lot of competition between Big Lots, Dollar Tree, TJ Maxx/Home Goods, and Five Below, and that was even pre-pandemic.
@@hopegrimsley3427 there used to be some Tuesday Mornings in SoCal a couple years ago. Not sure if they are still around. Agreed that it must be a difficult market with so much competition.
great recordings m8
also did magnavox make the "Magnavox and Ralph" commercial as a reference to the Magnavox Odyssey and Ralph H. Baer?
it could be possible becuase the name was a tribute to the original Magnavox Odyessey, already released 11 years prior or could be a coincidence, although with relations naming a commercial character "Ralph" in a Magnavox ad seems a bit obviously a nod
Seems like a stretch to me. Ralph is a common enough name for it to just be a coincidence.
@@80sCommercialVault you got a point
Hair cuts changed a lot
"Should jogging be banned?"
80s click bait! XD
Yeah.....the letter "c" on the news brief is somewhat controversial even to this day. A handful of people prefer Martial Law than having too much democracy.
I wonder if the RC Cola in my country is related to this RC Cola. But I was introduced to the brand in 2010 or 2013
Jean Nate-Movie director in response:"Lady, are you insane???"
Magnavox-..and Ralph,a new comedy coming to ABC
The Rodney Dangerfield Special-ithis was a good special..r.i.p Rodney and Andy K
Dig Dug-always wondered what a modern 3D remake for Playstation 5/Xbox Series X/Switch would look like
Teledyne Water Pik-yeah that last part was definitely unscripted
Thats Incredible-Man creates..the first clone
Christine-loved that "..or is it..?" final shot.. "I hate rock & roll." (Car bumper bends ever so slowly...)
Dynasty-"..and now i'm going to kill him."
Hotel-if this were in the present times,he wouldve uploaded those photos to the internet
Hart To Hart-crossbow guy needed aim assist
WNGE News Update-that look on her face"I didnt do it,i swear!"
Stripes end credits-re:that GMA promo..Travolta and Newton-John were promoting their movie "Two Of A Kind"..which turned out to be not so good
