Thats why its important to make sure your alarm system has a panic code. Most modern security companies offer this now. Its a code that you can give to people who hold you at gunpoint demanding to know the code to shut off the alarm. The code will appear to make the alarm disarm but it will actually still send a panic code to the alarm company who will then call the police

In case you can’t tell the difference between real and fake Tactical Officers here’s something to help: Fake Officers seem to be more aggressive in a non-hostile environment, real Tactical Officers aren’t trained to be aggressive in a non threatening environment and instead would simply negotiate with suspect(s). Their presence alone gives it away, their helmets aren’t even the right model and their combat vests don’t have any sign of equipment attached to them. Officers in the LAPD SWAT Team do not wear all black attires instead they wear navy blue with black helmets with no ski-masks or anything that covers their face. The fake Officers also have no sign that indicates they are apart of the LAPD, not only that but they have no radio communication devices present on their uniforms. No SWAT Team would ever use a pistol as their primary weapon, many use automatic weapons and other various long range weapons such as ARs or some short range such as a Pump-Action Shotgun.
I think they DO use the occasional gas mask or balaclava, but spot on. (Unless you are talking about the show’s design, in which your analysis is still correct)

This series is very fake. When the father raised the goal post, the realistic thing was that it would have been filled with bullets. And the same thing when the mother raised the knife, the swats would have emptied the magazines at the mother and shot the daughter in the crossfire. They were lucky they didn't have a dog, because otherwise the ATF would be there too.
Did they actually kill anyone? They waved guns around and made a bunch of threats, but the line you're talking about is between doing that and *actually firing those weapons*.

It's why you're supposed to try and talk with your kidnappers. Even if they make you shut up, having an actual interaction with you apparently does a lot.
