Thank you for providing this information. Worked perfectly on a 2014 F150 STX using a BAFX Bluetooth ODBII scan tool ($22 vs $80 lowest dealer quote in the area).
Just so I am clear. The OBD scan tool will allow me to bypass going to dealer right? Can I enable the remote start and pair the key with my truck using just that?
My BCM line 726-19-01 Mine was set to 0048. I set it to 0148 which remote start works. I also set IPC module line 720-01-02 middle set to F0 in the center 2 digits (I don't have message center only info center in my truck so this may not even be necessary) The issue I am having now is that it functions to start, but not to stop. In other words with a running remote started engine, I hit the remote start button 1x and only get a confirmation flash, lock of the doors and maybe confirmation honk not sure but does NOT kill a running remote started engine. Since my last BCM digit was 8 should I change it to 7? or to 9 maybe? the second digit 0 is off 1 is on. not sure on the last digit though but mine apparently was 8 factory as I only remember changing 1 digit as per forscan spreadsheet instructions.
I realize this is a very old video you may no longer be following but worth a shot. I was able to install the factory remote antenna and program a new key to start and use buttons. My remote start works, but not correctly. I can start the truck hitting the button just once. It will lock and start. I don't have to hit lock and the start twice. Hitting the button again won't shut it off. Too many times my truck "pocket starts" being near it with the key in my pocket. My setting was 0047 and changed it to 0148. I tried going back to 0047 to try again. Even tried reprogramming the keys/fob again. No luck. any ideas?
@@TruckStuff1 Thanks for the reply. eBay key with ford logo. i'm sure it's not oem but supposedly has the right chip. There is a 1 year warranty on the key. I'll see what they have to say about replacing it.
Just an FYI I believe the menu is enabled with Instrument Cluster Module which should be the IPC Module on 11-14 F150's, that should be HS/CAN and you should be able to access without an MS/CAN capable adapter
Angel De La Cruz I changed mine in the IPC module 720-01-02 xxxx xF0x xxxx The X's do not change. F0 should give you basic remote start menus (climate heat/ac, front defrost, timeout, quiet start). F2 will give you remote start menu + rear defrost FE will give you remote start menus +rear defrost and heated/cooled seats Again you only have to change the middle bits nothing else. I have a 11 F150 XLT. Make sure and back up your settings before you do it and all of this information, I have found on F150 forums. If you have issues I suggest checking out F150 forums for help. I was nervous when I did mine but it worked out just fine I have basic remote start menu in the instrument panel.
I tried it and it worked amazing after I found out my laptop did not have Bluetooth I found one that did and now I have remote start. I was able to get it to show up in my cluster and even turn off the hyper flash for the LEDs I just installed and now I have to go in and remove the resistors. Probably the best $10 I spent on my truck so far.
So my 2013 came with it installed already. Problem is it was “ accidentally “ run over. Bought a new fauve but dealer wants $100+ to activate the new one on a truck that has the system installed. Is that my only choice? Anyone??
Everything is good minus the way you ran the cable. The side curtain airbags run around the door opening there and you need to make sure the cable isn't run over the top of them. If you just tucked the wire into the gap between the A pillar trim and the headliner, you've just wrapped the cable around the side curtain airbag, which could end up being a bad time. Instead, route it the same way and slide it between the airbag and the metal roof up top into the cavity between the roof and the headliner. I know this is an old video, but wanted to drop this comment as it could end up bad for anyone routing the cable the way you did in your video.
if you have 2 working keys, put one in, cylce to on and wait for beeps to stop. put 2nd in and cycle to on and wait for beeps to stop. put in new key and the door locks with cycle. do the same for anyother key.

I am entirely to cheap to do that as a first option. You might try getting a programming cable (make sure it works with Forscan), downloading Forscan, and buying some aftermarket key fobs. That's basically what this aftermarket remote start kit does.

Did you enable the gauge cluster info as well?

By any chance do you know the exact parameters for the remote start to show on the cluster? Or do you know where could I find them?

That's very strange. I don't think it's the truck, maybe the key. Is it the factory key or aftermarket?

JustinWhitmore thanks, I was able to fix it
dang man no more 7.3. did you get tired of cold starts and the noise.im gonna ride mine till it stops thanks for the videos
Can the remote start be enabled with the forscan moble app
No. The mobile forscan versions are "read only".
Can Forscan be used to enable remote start on the 2012 F-250 also?
Did you need the extended license in order to activate it?
Yes the extended license is free for two months.
I believe the extended license is only for PATs programming, if my memory is corret
I have a key start 2013 f150 would this work?
@@TruckStuff1 how will I know if it has remote starting capabilities
@@TruckStuff1 ok thanks
Can I do it with the basic obd2 scanner you listed in the description?

Nice video ,where did purchase the antenna

You need the remote start key
Can I use it on my 2019 XL stx?
Yes.
Did you sell your F250?

Thanks for the comment. You make a good point. It's obvious in person but definitely worth clarification
After market is quicker.
Why would you put a obd2 scanner that doesn’t even work with a computer. Wasting people’s time
It does work with computers.
Horrible instructions.
U failed to mention how to program new keys that come in the kit
