Thanks much for 100k subscribers.:) When I first started UA-cam channel, I didn’t expect that my channel grows so fast. I believe that it was possible with your support and comments. I really appreciate everything you’ve done. I prepared “Winter Wind” with gratitude. My right hand is still in bad condition. But, I gave it my all. For the time being, I will focus to play slow and beautiful pieces. (I think that I should go see a doctor) Typically, I can’t reply to all comments, but I read most of them. Please leave your comments. Thank you so much!

What kind of winter wind was Chopin experiencing? Dude must've gone through some heavy blizzards geez

Ian Kim lol I get it
well, the name wasn't given to the piece by chopin. chopin didn't name any of his etudes, but the names were decided upon by critics later. chopin believed that his music could speak for itself without titles. it's kind of helpful to have titles though, because "op. 25 no 11" doesn't have the same ring as "winter wind"
Honestly, gives it more of a story

beautiful performance as always, Kassia :)
U play all Etudes with a relaxed hand, so ur hands don’t hurt, or only a little from moving the arm. I know it cause I play these and the Czerny’s ones
It takes wrist flexibility to play these without pain. Good wrist flexibility is good for not getting sore forearms or carpal tunnel.

Recently, my friend and I found some people fooling around with a public piano and approached them. They asked us if we played. My friend turned to me asked me to play this piece. I sat down at the keyboard and started playing the slow beginning (which I messed up, adding to the illusion that I was a beginner). Everyone seemed politely disappointed. Then I got to the fast bit, and it sounded like everyone behind me had a very loud stroke and died!

I'm not a musician, but I feel so moved, it makes me want to start learning to play the piano. This study is one of the most beautiful thing of Chopin legacy, and the presented playing is the best of its performances. It is fast, light and soft. The pianist does not keep her fingers on the keys longer that it nessasary. The hands move on the board quickly and strike the keys strictly according to the temp. The bass sounds very clearly, it enhances the left hand's contribution to the melody. It's so cute, when the pianist plays some left hand notes with her bent forefinger, keeping another ones curled into a fist. Thank you much, Kassia, for this outstanding playing! Hope your right hand is OK now.

Oh wait thats like almost every chopin etude xD
Truue xD This being one of the most painful I'd imagine
@@averyty7885 this wasn't a painful étude to practice(speaking from personal experience). As long as you don't try to go too fast at the start and master the rotation technique at a slow speed, you wouldn't get hurt(as long as you don't practice it at tempo for like really, really long).
Heyyyyy everyone it was a joke btw!!! :D We're just saying it's a really hard etude.
(though I imagine the years of practice it would take to be able to play something like this would sometimes be painful)
@@averyty7885 Even Charles Rosen said this etude was painful to play at tempo, and I agree with him. Once that unmerciful chromaticism kicks in, it just burns, unless you have a completely relaxed technique which not many have.
@@dhruvsawant9234 For me, it's definitely painful to play. By the time I get to the one pause in the piece (in the middle), my hands are tired. No other fast piece exhausts my hands so much. I can play fast music all day without my hands getting tired except for this piece. It's not the downwards chromatic runs that do it, either. Some of those up-and-down runs are a pain and prime nail-snagging territory, too D;
Though I admit that when my hands are in good condition from having adequate time to practice regularly, it's not as hard as I first believed.

Asian teacher: Alright a warm up piece for today
@Not Raelyn wait no those are easier pieces, "do transcendental etude mazeppa or no dinner"
wow. I just came here, and im so impressed, you Kassia, are so talented person. Im not just being nice, but im in music school on 9 year, and i wish that one day i will play like you. I love ur tehnique, your elegant and love, that ure putting in your pieces. I was in schock, when i heard that etiude, and i love how u played that.
I‘m in awe Kassia! Congrats for reaching 100k, what a milestone! You play this piece with so much passion and energy. Have you ever played a Rachmaninoff etude? I‘d love to see you play one or more one day :) but please check your hand first, it would be really bad if you overwork yourself and can’t play for a while.
Hi, MrBromaba. Thank you for watching my performance. When I practiced this piece, I thought you because you played this piece before in your channel. Nowadays, did you quit you UA-cam channel? I just played a few Rach's pieces. I played etude 39-9 in master course. I think that piece is not popular. But, I will upload it in near future. What kind of etudes do you practice now?
@@Kassiapiano ohh I'd love to hear it! Please also upload less popular pieces you have already learned, the popular ones are just the tip of the iceberg. I didn't quit my channel but I started my studies at music college in October and I've been focusing on practice since then. Also I feel like I can't perform the classical repertoire properly on my digital piano, especially compared to how I play on the grand pianos of my college. Currently I'm still refining Op. 10/4 and I started Rachmaninoff Op. 39/1 two weeks ago. I'd also like to upload Hungarian Rhapsody 2 and Debussy's Reflets Dans l'Eau but it just isn't the same on my digital piano. I wish I had something like the silent grand piano you use for the recordings but I have no money or space for that :(
@@MagnusBaumgartl Hi, MrBromaba.:) I hope that your channel is active in near future. Recently, I played digital piano in piano store. I was surprised that there is no weight of keys in digital piano. I didn't play digital piano before. I thought, long time practicing with digital piano will make that fingering sensitivity and touching strength can be lost. Due to personal reasons, I should stay in USA. So, I bought Yamaha grand one to practice in USA. I didn't know that I will use it for UA-cam. I believe that you can get more great piano in the future. I know that you would be very busy in new semester. I hope that you will finish your repertoire well in this semester.
0:23 전혀 이런 미친템포가 나올줄은 상상도 못함ㄷㄷㄷㄷ
You're the best color piano player on youtube. You play more dynamically than the others. You deserve so much more subscribers.
I love the way this sounds exactly as a winter wind
I wonder what was going through Chopin’s mind while composing this...
probably NEEDS MORE CHROMATIC SCALES AND MORE FURIOUS HAND MOVEMENTS! NEEDS MORE COLDNESS THAN MY DEAD HEART!
poland, probably
He was probably cold
justin pilecki true...
He said "hmm what's the fastest way to kills someone's hand??"
She really plays this piece with passion and I love it
Cuando escucho esta pieza, se me viene a la mente el sur de mi país Argentina, como Tierra del Fuego o Santa Cruz cuando neva ...
Bellísimas interpretación Kassia !!!
Beautiful piece! It’s really fitting for the season. My hometown just got an early winter blizzard a few days ago.
Hi, Lucias!!:) Thank you for your support.💕 My hometown is really cold. It snowed a lot. So, I played two pieces for winter.
