Finding free cold beer in a remote mountain hut after a day of trekking, set in beautiful surroundings. I mean… that’s the definition of perfection
I couldn't agree more 👏🏻👏🏻
Whoever left that beer there for people like you to find after a hard day has done more to boost hiking tourism than a whole series of ads!
This is the Alta Via 1 route. I walked this last year from Cortina to Belluno. These are old, well trodden paths by hikers worldwide. Mostly everyone stays in Refugio’s. This is a tough hike and you need to be physically fit. You also need to be able to navigate either GPS or map and compass as there are many paths criss crossing. Take the wrong path and you could end up on a Via Ferrata (plenty of examples on UA-cam) for which you need to be properly equipped with harness / safety gear. The Alta Via is the most beautiful hike I have ever done. Truly stunning and Liam captures it perfectly- well done and thanks for bringing back some great memories.
If I would like to do a 3-4 days hike of the via 1 what would you advise?
I’m so sorry Mark - my original reply doesn’t seem to have got through ! I booked through ‘Alpine Exploratory’. I told them the dates and they put together a hiking itinerary based on refugio availability, provided instructions and excellent (Tobacco) maps. One of the best refugios is called Nuvolau (google it) - spectacular location - recommend you specify as a must - only a days hike from Cortina. Don’t underestimate fitness requirements - you’ll see plenty of folks with joint problems on the Alta Via trail looking for an escape. Do it ! You’ll remember it all of your life.
Another good walk Liam pal, Dolomites are superb.
Does anyone agree liams videos should be an hour long though? 😊
Keep them coming , love the content 🙌🏻
I kinda like two 30 minute ones, feels like more then one 1 hour video... i know what makes no sense
@@eoinmadden7134 its hardly inane commentary….I think he has a good blend with no daft music or 5 minute promotions…..he’s got it spot on in my opinion !
Totally agreed!
@@Malforian it makes sense and I know what you mean. But then I vote for two 1 hour videos)) or for two 45 minutes ones at least😊
Thirty minutes is perfect for me. I feel like an hour could sometimes be too overwhelming to start watching.
To think Hannibal crossed these mountains with elephants is incredible!
Oh 😮 I’ve got to read about that!
Can you post a rough route of what you taken? Or points you passed? Cheers
This is the most beautiful video to date Liam. Your photographic skills and video editing have come on so much. You trule deserve all the success you are having. Thank you for sharing your journey with us all.
I didn’t realise the Italian Dolomites were so grandiose. It was lovely to see you enjoying yourself so much. The views were amazing and you were so lucky with the weather. Thank you. Take care, be safe. ❤ Dorset, UK
Some background/planning videos of these walks would be really interesting and helpful for those considering planning the same or similar walks. Really enjoying this series 👍
I feel refreshed after that delightful half hour in the mountains and it's such a heartwarming pleasure to see someone so happy in such beautiful surroundings.PS. I agree with others who ask for more detail about your route - on all of your future journeys.
Thank you for taking us along! The views were absolutely stunning!
Thanks for the extra climb to look at the orange flowers...I love flowers and creatures, so it's a treat when you do the close-ups to let us share the nature. Spot on!
Fantastic mate 🙏🏼 And as a fellow hiker and wildcamper i gotta say your adventures leave me completely inspired. So great to see someone love nature the way it should be loved 🙌🏼 ❤
Yay second part. Thanks for taking us with you on another adventure Liam, love your content.
That Beer was such an emotional response...
Thank you for such videos it makes the adventure more accessible for others to attempt..
Great times.
Yo, Liam, awesome video, parts one and two! I enjoyed seeing the return of tooth brushing scenes, food preparation and calf inspections, all vintage stuff your long-time subscribers have come to expect. I see in the comments that quite a few of us have enjoyed your recent use of maps to show us your daily progress. I had no idea where you were hiking! Your interactions with wild life are always quite amusing - cows, dogs, donkeys, stroking snakes, butterflies, spiders - you're such a gem! 💙 from Cape Town
One does not simply walk into Mordor... Liam Brown says "Hold my beer"
You could probably have a 24 part series in The Dolomites, Italian, German, Ladein, so many different languages in these mountains, different dialects and different people. My 2nd home.
Hey Liam, in my 60's now but you remind me of me when I was your age. Love your vlogs. Make the most of your health and live a wonderful life. Thanks for the memories...
What an amazing achievement Liam - congratulations. I think these two vlogs have been your best yet, and you really enjoyed the challenge which was super to see. Absolutely incredible scenery! I’ll probably have to wait until I come back in another lifetime to give the Dolomites a shot - don’t think I would have the stamina and level of fitness at the moment. So where to now? How do you top this one?
Truly magic, beautiful beyond words, you've only gone and done it again. Well done Liam, this was absolutely brilliant.
Staggeringly beautiful. Those were some trails (goat paths?) you were circumnavigating. We love your appreciation of nature and the simple things, and admire your fitness!
i'LL keep it brief because thats taken my breath away, but that's got to be the most spectacularly scenic walk we've been on Liam, thanks a lot mate. I really enjoyed that one. Where we going next?
Glad you finally came to Italy Liam, the Alps are the OP mountains. I was sure you would like them, with such jaw dropping views, idyllic scenery and steep inclines.
Good times.
I'm sat in a tent at hornsea in our 2nd day of non stop rain 😅 those lush valleys of warmth and sunshine are a welcome sight. 👍🏻
I wish you'd give us some info on your full plan while you were there. Flights, cost, accommodation, where you were ect but great mini series 👍🏻 looked amazing! And finding those beers 👌
This is hands down the most stunning scenery you've shared with us so far! I've got to go! Thanks!
Another fab adventure Liam. Your joy is infectious thank you! You can't beat Italian mountains 👌
Liam, another great set of videos, the quality of your camerawork makes it feel as if I am there on the walk with you. Brilliant mate. Dave
Love these videos so much! Inspiring me to do my own solo hiking trips
Great video Liam! What views and a stunning part of the world to hike 👌🏻
That place is insane, it doesn’t look real , it’s like a film set . It’s beautiful ❤
I think this was the most beautiful place you've walked in so far. And that pasta and apple pie looked cracking! It occurred to me that you must see some amazing night skies...would be great off you could drop in some shots of the stars in your vids.
Perfect way to relax, spend half an hour with Liam
Loved this 2 part series! This is my fave walking channel on yt. Can't wait for my holiday in Switzerland in September. Mountain air is the best!
Hey Liam, I highly recommend you getting something like a lightweight aluminium bottle. But don’t reuse those plastic bottles for if those bottles get exposed to heat or sunlight, a chemical reaction appears. I don’t really know it in detail, but I know that’s is unhealthy. I’d say look it up :) Love your vids and don’t want to let it come to an end.. ;)
These views though! Liking this video doesn’t seem enough for how breathtaking they are. I feel my soul connecting to them.
Liam, how can U only have 162K subscibers with this level of top quality content? way to go man, keep up the excellent work 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Yes! Been waiting for this! 👍
Amazing scenery liam, and what a fantastic adventure!
Your editing is top notch,im so jealous! 👍
Superb part 2, once again you've shown us how beautiful different parts of the world are. Extra, you've done it.
I like your videos so much! And in this one the landscape, trails, cows and huts are exactly the same as when I was in the Swiss Alps northeast of Geneva last summer. Great memories as I’m sure you have too.
Beautifully captured video. At 28:00 , I stopped and walked around this village on my dolomite road trip experience on the 29th of July 2023. Carried on north/north-west to Moena another beautiful Italian mountain village. Already excited to return to Italy after watching your videos
Anyone else immediately look at going there? What a fab video Liam. You looked so in your happy zone.
Incredible achievement. Thoroughly enjoyed following along on this adventure. Stunning 😍
I've been eagerly waiting for part 2 Liam..and this didn't disappoint.
That beer was a dream of a find! Loved this video Liam, looked like you got the challenge you were after. Look forward to the next! - Devon, UK
Thank you for capturing this moment for us Liam, It was truly magnificent
Liam , out of all the places you've been/hiked) experienced, where was / is your favourite place?
The criteria are , unspoilt beauty /wilderness , the people , ease of navigation , best food and best walking weather.
It’s breathtaking to watch this journey, somewhere I’d love to be. Love seeing you do this hike! Living vicariously here.
Watched a fair number of your adventures now but this has to be numero uno. The Dolomites are absolutely spectacular and the scenery totally stunning. Definately on my bucket list to visit. Thank you Liam.
Loved the first and second part, the scenery is epic and I could never climb that high so it's wonderful to tag along through your wonderful videos. Can I ask how you keep your phone and drone charged all the way through your journeys as my phone dies on a full day of walking? Many thanks for taking us along for the ride. Your a lucky guy. 😊
Heck of a film, Liam! Both Part 1 and 2. I can feel the energy and excitement of this trip emanating from you. Cheers!
Bro you inspire me to go into nature and start wild camping. Love
Absolutely stunning, one of the most beautiful places I've seen you walk.
Great video Liam. I love Italy. The food is amazing. Even in the cheaper restaurants you get such fabulous food.

Looks incredible and I'm planning my own trip until you show the spiders and hornets 😂 thank you for sharing your adventures.
Having skied this area years ago I really enjoyed travelling through it again with you on your walk.
Great series Liam, absolutely loved these 2 episodes, excellent use of the ski lift.
This was lovely to watch! I never miss a video tbh Liam, I’m very jealous, it’s great to experience this through you and in such a casual entertaining way ☺️
He's like some kind of Zen Buddhist Walker that likes a beer lol. Definitely different from the usual UK 8 months of winter and then a non-summer. He does make me feel that I have wasted a lot of my life not doing such as he just did. His camera is also amazing at showing how beautiful it all is. What a guy and long may he keep showing us his wonderful travels. Simply some of the best vids on YT.
Awesome scenery and editing Liam - love all your adventures. Such a beautiful area of the planet. I have to go myself one day. Thanks again! 😊
Place looks so amazing and it's fantastic to see it make you so happy.
Thanks for sharing this amazing scenery with us, Liam.

What an amazing and beautiful area!
Liam! Your simple delight in the moments of nature always make me chuckle and smile. Your calm enthusiasm is contagious. I know those feelings well, and you are fantastic at sharing them. Thanks for all the peace you've brought me in your videos over the past few years. One day I hope to be enjoying a cold beer in a small mountain town and see you walk up. If that ever happens, your beer is on me. Carry on, friend, and keep enjoying all the beauty out there.

This trip blew me away. 🔥
Amazing! Thanks! Wonderful country
Liam you are a joyful human being with a huge appreciation for the simple things ❤️
Another great adventure Liam, thanks for the video.👍😎
Hot pine. One of my favourite smells ever. We were in the Dolomites a few weeks ago. Stunning!Thank you for this video.
Very nice again Liam. I was there around the same time, but further west.
Whenever I come across a Bivaco in the Alpine world I can't help thinking if it was in the UK, it'd be trashed. Humble or sophisticated, they all have to be maintained and supplied by Clubs, groups or individuals and as such, the culture if you use them, is to leave them better than you found them and try to leave some food or drink for the next visitor. The currently derelict building at 23.47 for example, seems going by the lettering painted on it, to belong to a division of the Italian Alpine Club. C.A.I. Stuck for funds at present it would seem.
You missed a scented delight with the pink flower, Dianthus, at 23.42. it smells absolutely beautiful and fills the surrounding air. Although you didn't comment on that one, I'm sure you enjoyed its perfume.
Definitely putting this on my bucket list for hiking adventures!
I always find your content so relaxing and calming, thanks for your content!
