Thanks for this Fin, I’m 52 now, but in my teens I grew up in Ivybridge, it took 15mins to get from my house to the Moorgate, I used to go up on my own and with friends, and 10 Tors with the school. It’s a special place, and helped with my mental health too. It’s hard to describe, but there is an energy and a sense of peace that I’ve not experienced anywhere else. Very best to you, and wishing you all the success with your endeavours.
Hi Richard, apologies for the slow reply, life's been in the way (Typical) Thankyou for the kind words, there is definitely a special energy and sense of peace up on the moors, it's my favourite place to explore. I bet you had some amazing adventures with your friends, i wish i could get mine out with me haha. Again, thankyou for the kind words, hopefully more to come on here!
Great video, and a big welcome to UA-cam, Fin! Pictures are a great way of saving and sharing the memories, but the video format captures the essence and tells the story about the pictures. Looking forward to see more of yours!☺🏕
Interesting video. I’ve only really been into hiking for about 8 months I just seemed the next logical step was to wild camp. So far only done two both with my dog unfortunately the wife isn’t interested except in a few of the hikes. I picked up The OEX Phoxx 2 v 2 I absolutely love it, I’m a total novice regarding tents but it’s a doddle to set up. I feel I’ve been very lucky with all the gear I’ve picked up so all works perfectly. I’m hoping to get down to Dartmoor over the next few weeks for a few days legit wild camping with my ever faithful dog I live in Kent which is far more populated than most of Devon so stealth is definitely name of the game in my neck of the woods pun intended. The Phoxx to is perfect as it’s low profile helps with the stealthiness Keep up the channel,
The Phoxx has been amazing for me over the past few years, the stealth element is fantastic for the price and quality, i've recently picked up a new tent but kept the Phoxx for those stealthier camps away from Dartmoor. Hopefully i'll be uploading lots more in different areas of the country, thankyou for the kind words.
Hello Fin, stumbled across your video, and I'm glad that I did. Dartmoor is the place to escape to, stunning scenery and an atmosphere that can only benefit anyone who loves solitude. It's probably my favourite place to spend time by myself in. Your honesty was brilliant, and hopefully it will inspire others to do the same as you. Keep doing what you're doing and continue experiencing the peace and solitude, and you will create something that is original and unique, and at the same time give you so much strength and well being. Take care! Simon., Somerset
Hi Simon, thank you for the kind words, I hope I can continue to be as authentic as possible with these videos as I love to show the reality of my experiences when out in nature. Dartmoor is an incredible place and is perfect for those solo adventures so I can definitely agree with you there. Wish you the best! Fin
Great tent budget tent the phoxx, I have the phoxx 1 and had to upgrade quickly because I felt like I was in a coffin I bought it his as a cheap one before I got into the hobby 😂 but can imagine the 2 is slightly more roomier, great video Fin keep up the good work🤙🏼
I love the Phoxx tents, very solid for the price, and i can agree with you on the space of the 1 man 😂 The 2 is perfect, especially with a bigger pack on, I'll hopefully show more of it off in the next video, thankyou!
Hey buddy, just decided to catch up on some wildcamping vids & came across your channel. Cracking spot & I admired the honesty when you were chatting 👍.No shame in saying hey "Lifes tough" at the minute, but as you said, being outdoors under canvas is natures therapy & washed down with a DMF is pure joy. I will drop you a DM on your 📸as I would love to join you all for an adventure sometime. I split my time between Devon & mostly South Wales so I'm lucky with the Brecons a mere 45 mins away.
Gotta be honest about life sometimes, not always sunshine and rainbows but that's something I wouldn't want to hide from viewers, everyone's human! The outdoors has definitely helped me tons in recent times and I'm always up for meeting new people for adventures so definitely drop me a DM!
great stuff, seen a few videos from up that way, it is such a great, wild looking landscape. Nice looking set up too! Good luck with your adventures and your channel, I know how much effort you must be putting in, subscribed 🇬🇧🇦🇺✌🏻
Such a solid little tent, especially for how well it holds up in poor weather and the price, but i do sometimes wish i had more headroom when being confined to it during the rain. But thats the trade-off with how useful it is! Thanks for the support!
Just stumbled across your UA-cam video and recently started wild camping on Dartmoor. Are you able to tell me where you went please and where the nearest car park etc would be. I appreciate you may not want to comment on that publicly so as not to over-run the place, but could you give Me an idea? Many thanks! ⛺️
Hi Nicola! This was at along the east river dart, the coordinates exactly are: 50.6159437, -3.9249341 I was dropped off at the Postbridge visitor centre but I believe there is some local parking nearby, worth having a google just to be sure! There's a public footpath that starts from the visitor centre, dead easy to follow
Great vid, jsut subbed. Love the phoxx 2, I was going to ugprade but i decided to get the expedition tarp for it and it's really transformed it, gives me a nice outdoor space in the rain to sit.

In my 10 tors days we used to do postbridge to sittaford in an hour. Don't think i'd be up to that right now.
