1g owner here. Mine is in mint condition, only 58.000 miles and almost completely stock. Currently looking to find a few more original parts and then just keep it as clean and as stock as possible.
That's unusual to find a car sitting for that long that will start. I would still clean out the gas tank. The last car I bought that had bad gas glued the intake valves in place and bent all the pushrods. Looks like a fun project. Do it right and get some autocrossing time in that car!
A 90's classic, I hardly ever see these things.

I just saved a red 91 talon tsi. Been sitting 15-20 years. It was doing the same idle fluctuating as yours when I got it running. Doing all of the maintenance to it now and trying to fix the idle. I can't wait to watch your whole series with this car!

+Jesus Labrada It is scientifically impossible to hate something with pop up headlights. Know what else has pop up headlights? Old lambos. I'm not saying this is a Lamborghini but also I'm not NOT saying it.

Awesome video editing and good footage! Starts up and drives like a true Japanese car. Who can abandon such a cool car like this? I hope you got it for a steal sitting in that condition! If you want, check out mine it basically received the exact opposite treatment of this one. But it's cool because both are stock AWD models.

Seems to be a very lucky find most of these cars (gst/gsx) goes for thousands(4000+ in decent condition)
+DSM Devin well for one this one has been left alone for about a decade and I'm STILL trying to work out what all is wrong with it. Still freaking love the thing though lol
Shooting Cars I love mine too haha I traded my 420a 2g (with a rod knock,the new owner knows) for my 1g dsm haha it needs work cosmetically but I can't wait to see more videos about this car in the future, gonna be tuning in ;) and be doing my own videos eventually

I bought my Eclipse 1g ten years ago for 1500 bucks and until now I have spent for adjustments about 14 thousands bucks.😂

+Sons of Abearchy It's more of a running joke. These cars were actually built in Normal, Illinois so they're about as ricer-y as apple pie. I call my truck "Run GMC" so it fits with the 90's hip hop nomenclature 😂

Shooting Cars well i built it for an all around car really.
No offense to fans of old flip up headlights cars, but they're visually just too generic and they all look quite similiar. Now don't get me wrong, one of my favourite cars are from that era, but hey, this is just my opinion.
Eh, to each their own 🤷🏻♂️ I had a 1gb (with fixed headlights) in high school and always wanted one with flip ups (plus mine was a 1.8 so I’ve always lusted after a GSX) when this one popped up (lol) it checked all my boxes which is why I’m getting it back on the road.
Also, 10 internet points for not being like “FLIP UPS ARE STUPID” lol
