  • Heyy :) Today I'll be explaining why I use protein and how it helps strengthen and maintain my fine porous hair. My techniques aren't any different from my regular wash days, it's only a switch to products that have protein. I've only been using hydrating/moisturizing and all-purpose products lately that I've neglected my hair from the thing it loves dearly- protein. I forgot how much my hair loves protein, it felt so amazing after this wash, and it looks so healthy right now I'm in awe. It's so shiny! ALSO, I'm so used to washing my hair when it's coiled, but since it was slightly stretched from the braids it's so flufffyyy! I can't get over how it looks in this video. So so pretty!
    Another thing, I tried reducing the amount of water running this wash day and it wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be. I think I'll be doing that more often, thanks for the call in.

    I really appreciate your videos. I've always felt my hair was dull and dry. No matter what I did, it seemed to be a temporary fix.
    I recently cut it (and gave myself heat damage 🥴) so I'm working on getting to know my hair better. These videos are super informative and easy to follow 🙌🏾

    Firstly can I say you are so cute, absolutely beautiful. I have fine hair too I always comb through thoroughly before water touches so that it does matt when its in a weakened state. I oil my hair, comb through, dampen it, bond treatment, shampoo, then deep condition. After heat protectant, hair serum and blow dry. My hair has maintained so much length its amazing.

    I love how you explained the importance of a protein treatment especially as a high porosity girl! I think that’s my current problem now- protein deficiency. I have type 4 hair but all 3 curl patterns. My hair is extremely thick and dense but absorbs moisture so quickly. Your video helped to put some things into perspective for me thank you!!!

    If you use aphogee, use the 2 min recomsturctor and you should be fine.
    Not the 2 step which is for color damage or heat damaged hair. That one can give protein overload for people without those issues.

    • @Cindy99765
      @Cindy99765 4 місяці тому +2

      @@glencoco4444 It helps to spray your hair lightly with water, then apply leave in conditioner. Let that absorb for a minute before using an oil to seal in the moisture, and then put your hair in braids or twists. Every couple of days, spray gently with water and use oil on the braids, but don't use too much of either.

      From what I know:
      She washes her hair every 5 days due to a sensitive scalp.
      She only detangles on said wash days.
      After defining on wash day she only fluffs her flattened hair to style
      hope this helps!😊

    I wish there were a natural alternative to shampoos and conditioners. Us naturals are very dependent on these chemical laden products. It's hard to see shampoo as anything other than a foamy sudsy product a key signifer of chemicals.
    I definitely believe that with our hair being as fragile as it is that there is some other alternative to just chemicals that leave the hair so dry, frizzy and change its colour.
    .

    • @thefayallure
      @thefayallure 10 місяців тому +14

      Everything is technically a “chemical” , it may be a scary word but nothing to be afraid of.. chemists create products that are proven to be safe on our strands, it’s best to educate yourself on certain ingredients so you can cater to your specific hair needs but shampoo is fine love, scientists aren’t the bad guys the overall beauty industry can be though

    • @yarsudani
      @yarsudani  10 місяців тому +18

      There definitely are natural alternatives in many plants and foods, people all across the world have been using them for centuries and still do today. But I don't really agree with this statement. Nothing is wrong with most shampoos and conditioners, they won't give you dry hair if you're using the right ones (moisturizing/hydrating/allpurpose) but when it comes to protein it's a hair strengthening treatment that's not meant to be used all the time and that's why I mentioned that it's important to limit your usage. I don't think natural hair is fragile, I think fine hair is fragile, and that's across all hair types (1A-4C) If I had coarse or medium hair I wouldn't deal with any fragility. And the word "chemicals" is demonized but even water is a chemical. Haircare products are formulated for our hair to be able to absorb it and receive the benefits. For example, I could do the popular DIY hair mask where people mix eggs, mayo, oil, etc in a bowl and apply it directly to their hair... or I could just buy a hair mask that is formulated with the protein ingredients so my hair can benefit the most. I don't think DIYs are bad but I don't think formulated things are inherently damaging for natural hair. The only instance is see people struggling with dryness from shampoos is when they're using the wrong ones too often, like clarifying or strengthening ones. Those are meant to be used once in a while. I don't expect you to change your mind after all I've said I'm just sharing my thoughts.

      newsflash bestie everything is made of chemicals 😍😍 and nobody is saying you must use shampoos and conditioners!! if you don’t want to then don’t but it is actually key to healthy hair. like,, scientifically
