I couldn't help but feel wounded when you mentioned LAUSD as evidence of mistakes schools are making with computers. I was really liking your talk until then. I am one of the fifty teachers on that team. We support 101 schools of the1100 in the LA district. What people read online about LAUSD;s iPad project less factual and more of what Papert might call backlash. In just a few hours when it is Saturday morning, I will be giving a workshop to 30 teachers who are coming to learn App Inventor and Code.org curriculum. Thousands of LA teachers are developing they abilities beyond the same old thing after school and every weekend this year and last. The 10,000 teachers we support are not all ready to do the 20+ things that can be done with the 1to1 computer classroom. Our team supports them and that change from wherever they are across the spectrum.
