Sorry for the thumbs down. I couldn't finish watching as the background music, which sounded foreground to me, didn't allow me to hear and truly capture what information was being provided. Plus the information was being given extremely fast...I had to go to other videos

Me too! I gave up halfway through.
Producers like this don't realise that loud "background" music makes it MUCH more difficult for 2 groups of people (a) those with any hearing impairment or hearing-aid users, and (b) people older than about 70 years (that's me). People who are younger and normally hearing have little problem. (I'm an audiologist, retired: professionally, the signal/noise ratio here is MUCH too high, only younger ears can pick this signal out of the noise.).
So the background music is really discriminating against these groups, about 20% of potential listeners.

The Imitation of Christ seems to me very much like some of the writings of Epictetus. Both works offer solace and comfort, if I can't sleep at night, because of their base in careful reasoning or argument. They are therapeutic the way cognitive therapy is if a person feels disordered or overtired. Both seem anchored in faith, if not the same faith, but also in a practical understanding of human nature, the natural world and human nature. They are two of my favorite works to read at night.
