MHR Sunbreak: Chain Crit Charge Blade is Actually OP

- CB gains +5 atk and ele on initial hit then +15 to both after 5 consecutive hits for a total of +20 atk and +20 element, so Chain Crit is insanely strong for fast elemental weapons, almost a must have. With CB, Spinning slash immediately procs the full +20 atk and +20 ele after just 1 swing. Enjoy this showcase on Gore Magala!

I love seeing this. After getting Air Dash/Ready Stance, I realized pretty quick that spinning axe hae a ton of options. Its kinda nuts
it took me a good couple of hours to realize I could hold to spin the axe with air dash when it was active

If i had a nickel everytime a game had the Magalas and Charge Blade was considered OP. I would have 2 nickels, which isn't alot but it's weird it happened twice

@@zothrexblitz4576 it has a new silkbind guard stance which can be canceled at any time into different actions. Which is how they're doing ED2 into ED2. Baaicaly: ED2, guard cancel with the silkbind, ED2

spoiler free answer: chain crit was on the Kushala weapon as a ramp-up in high rank. it is now in the system that follows up on the ramp-up mechanic, which is not bound to weapons as strictly
@@zeldafan7712 Thanks, did not know. I really dug the ramp up skills despite the method to earn them. A lot of neat skills rather than just something boring like Health augs.
Repeat Offender buffs affinity with successive hits, while Chain Crit buffs attack and element. Not sure why Capcom called this skill Chain Crit when it has nothing to do with critical hits
@@garrus5486 it’s because the skill repeat offender needed points from chain crit to activate and because it’s astalos’s skill

@@StarpunkPrime looks like a new silkbind move that gives access to a counter while in axe mode, but the counter does not need to be triggered to be able to go into elemtal 2 immediately after, so you can use elemental 2 -> axe silkbind counter -> elemental 2 -> repeat until no more wirebugs. The downside is it consumes 1 wirebug each time and you don't recover phials as quickly as you would with the standard x-a-x-a combo, but for builds that don't rely on phial damage but on crits it looks really strong.
That css+ss combo. Ss is the one that people don't appreciate about when they 1st see it.
@@robinvanrenselaar7142 it's called ready stance, it's a super fast counter, doesn't have passive guard up like counter peak performance but it can be used to animation cancel to keep attacking like what's shown in this video.
It's basically what's making CB kinda nuts in sunbreak

Yeah the new decos are more focused on synergies and utilities than on raw damage, which is great for build diversity, and having a rapid hitting buzz saw naturally leans into elemental.
Yea, now that elemental cb is immensely Buffed, both chainsaw and saed (elemental) are now both very viable in their own rights. Which fixed the issue of cb during base rise

@@meekley6490 after elemental discharge 2 animation finishes, he just uses ready stance instantly and then in ready stance even if you dont counter anything you can still press A to do elemental discharge 2, skipping the X upwards swing attack

Wow, might be picking up CB again, was very disappointed with it in base game, but this looks pretty nutty. Now if only we could get big saed damage as well then I’d be sold.
Elemental CB does big numbers on some monsters. Saw a guy hit the crabs for over 300 per phial the other day.

For silkbinds at least they're using two of the new ones. New L2+ Triangle was the one that looked like an uppercut and when you see the Circle spam he weaves the new L2+Circle as a reset so he doesn't have to use a standard attack to get back to the Circle attack

Morph slash/ charging up your sword, you can’t transition to css through regular guard point it can only be done through counter peak or manual charging which was made better in sunbreak

I have a question, why do you always refill a vial? very good video btw 10/10.
it's the perk of spinning slash switch skill. if you hold down the attack button when damaging the monster, it will have the spinning animation and refill 1 vial at a time.

They're playing on pc so it might be a mod, not too sure though. I don't think master rank layered armor is out yet might be wrong though I haven't beaten sun break yet

*Me, who's still only MR 2* WTF AM I LOOKING AT, no sharpness loss, all crits and ridiculously fast guard cancels (haven't tried all the new chargeblade stuff yet but daaaaaamn)
as a novice charge blade user id like to know how to charge the shield and the skinny part
To make the shield icon turn purple (putting it into an amped state) you need to have phials ready, and then cancel your big slam (which you can get to easily with X+A at the same time) with R2. Once the shield is amped, you can hit R2 and A, and then keep holding A until the end of the shield retracts to do a condensed element slash and charge your sword, letting you do phial damage with sword strikes.
If you have condensed spinning slash, or whatever it’s called, you don’t need to charge the shield. You simply hit R2 and hold A, and when the shield starts spinning, let go. Once you’re in that state, you have to hold down the attack button to make your swings do several hits in one attack.

Air Dash replaces Morphing Advance you unlock it around MR4. Its sick.

The phials are not really from the ready stance, chainsaw in rise fills up phials slowly when the chainsaw grinds the monster
