The first few interactions genuinely triggered me. I could feel myself becoming enraged at the lack of accountability and ignorance displayed. Then I realized that getting triggered to strongly dislike the people who think like this has cost me loads of precious energy and attention- especially with what's happened over the past 2-3 years. I feel the need to fix this immediately with more meditation to learn to observe more and react less, as well as by taking more action and engaging in more conversation with people I disagree with

There's something that you left out here, that Owen repeats in almost every video now. The quote from the bible:
"And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? [4] Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?"
You're seeing the mote in their eye and getting angry when you should be angry about the beam in yours. And just meditating isn't going to do away with your beam.

    • @simplicitas5113

@@bocelottI disagree with your judgement. The quote is deeper than that. More accurately it's about how we are blind to our own flaws. He doesn't know what his weakness is because he needs someone else to point it out. However meditation can definitely also achieve this if you look deep inside yourself.

Not to cast any judgment and also taking into account the majority of those people were lowkey high or drunk but did you guys notice that very few actually said what beliefs are in their OWN CURRENT experience in that moment but started talking about either their IDEALIST beliefs that arent present in their current reality or some beliefs OTHER people have which are also not present in their current reality. So it clicked that even observing your both productive and counterpoductive beliefs requires an amount of self-awareness and mindfulness that is not the baseline of everyone.

    GREAT BELIEFS: 14:20
1 you are cause rather than effect of your emotions
2 you are cause and not effect of outer results (agency)
3 belief in abundance of resources, not scarcity
4 feeds release muscles vs. control muscles (inspiration vs. desperation)
5 aligned to authentic core and highest potential version of self
6 sparks the power of self-fulfilling prophecy (positive RAS)
7 sparks the power of higher paradigm thinking (similar to #3, #6)
8 sparts the power of imagination and out-of-box thinking
9 sparks power of RAS ability to see opportunity (same as #6)
10 we choose our journey; we are overcomers and are not victims

Julien did a segment like this last year where he asked people if self-acceptance or self-improvement is the way.
These are fxcking dope, very useful, and super insightful.
The mind virus rears it's ugly head quite a bit. You can see that the average person just regurgitates the things they THINK they're supposed to be concerned with, most of which are not their real limiting beliefs.
Anyway, I'm only a little over 20 min in, but this is great, brother. I believe this content is gonna have a massive positive impact on the world.

Be at the cause not at the effect. (That one gets deeper every year it's crazy)
Agency- you're in control of every aspect of your life (opposite of disempowerment)
    Abundance (unlimited money and people)
Release muscles - tension is the enemy
Feeds your higherself- if it don't feed it , leave it.
Believe there is an opportunity- see what you believe (ras)
Higher paradigm thinking- (seeing bigger picture, navigate accordingly)
Powerful imagination- finding solutions, finding the opportunity
If what you believe is stopping you from seeing opportunity, get rid of it.
I choose what comes to me. And to overcome it for my own growth. Push it to the limit homie .
Be a tank- literally transform into a tank and shoot ammunition from your nose. (Very big deal)
    Gratitude gratitude gratitude.

    8. Being evil is just cooler
    9. Trust is a weakness

Therapist here. I wanna say something about the conflict between self-love and self-improvement that is been talked about here. MY answer is, that there does not have to a conflict about that. The solution is to love yourself unconditionally but also because of that take good care of yourself, to not let yourself get carried away, to work on yourself where it can help you succeed better in life. It might be helpful to see oneself as made up of different personality parts inside of you, where you take the position of a loving but caring higher self that manages all the other parts. All parts are equally loved and welcome but at the same time there needs to be boundaries, control and guidance so the entire internal family can have a great life.

    • @phoenixjones7191

@@phoenixjones7191 There are a few therapy schools that see the personality as made up of several partially distinct inner parts. Ideally you have empathy and can connect to where they’re at. If you can’t, you’re going to have trouble connecting with people like Owen does

At the end of this video I was asked to list my top 20 beliefs I believe half the beliefs I have are negative and push me away from my goals and the other half are positive and push me towards my goals I think this video is about making people realize they have both however Owen only gives his positive beliefs I wonder if he has any negative beliefs that hold him back
01 I used to have a good life and now I have a bad life (negative)
02 Freedom is the most important value and its worth sacrificing for (positive)
03 I was born in a first world country and now live in a second world country (negative)
04 never complain it wont help you instead spend that time thinking of ways you can change your life (positive)
05 god is real but I hate god and am angry at him for putting me on this planet (negative)
06 to get want you want in life you must deserve what you want you deserve the life you have (positive)
07 the world is over populated most of our problems will go away if 6 billion people were killed off this is the reason life is so hard for many (negative)
08 instead of feeling sorry for yourself always ask what else (positive)
09 1945 to 2019 if you did the right thing you can go far in life 2020 and onwards improving your life is almost impossible (negative)
10 do the hard things in life it will be harder down the road if you put it of and say maybe some day (positive)
11 90% of people are brainwashed and beyond help they are un able to think for themselves NPC this makes me feel isolated from society (negative)
12 people often regret the things they could of done don't let fear stop you from achieving your goals (positive)
13 The Illuminati controls all the governments around the world and based on your internet activity your life has already been decided beyond your control (negative)
14 have a back up plan incase things don't go your way hope for the best prepare for the worst (positive)
15 rich people are greedy psychopaths act like them in order to achieve success life is a 0 sum game for you to win others need to lose (negative)
16 always keep your living space clean even when you are homeless a clean space helps you keep a clean mind (positive)
17 instead of focusing on the billions of people who have less then you focus on the billions of people who have more then you and get angry about it (negative)
18 be honest with yourself and others never lie to people and don't lie to yourself (positive)
19 instead of fixing your financial problems use weed and porn to cope with the pain because its just to hard to fix it this time (negative)
20 never compromise your beliefs to please others but be open to changing your beliefs if there are better beliefs you agree with (positive)

first half was rough at times to get through. Luckily you interviewed those cool black dudes, even the guy that believed in flat earth was more sane and cohesive. Legendary stuff though still. The struggle was valuable. Incredible actually

52:45 is so sad. This poor girl feels she can't speak because she's a white girl and she truly believes that. That liberal arts college taught her a lot.

Wow! Such an amazing message. I love your ability to articulate deep, spiritual idioms, but within an ordinary human context. I think it is a very interesting niche. It's like Nietzschean Spirituality. Thank you for everything you do! - David
