I have searched way too much, to find the ACTUAL tabs to the song, and not some fingerstyle butchering the chords, or the simple arpegio on five chords... Thank you my friend! Must have taken you a long time!
Awesome. would love to see you play and tab 'i shall be released' from live at sin-e. Really difficult to sort out his embellishment and his techniques on that one but i'm sure you can do it having watched this!
@@alexreynolds1826 that's a great shout, I absolutely love all of the live at sin-é songs. I think Jeff's really underrated as a guitarist because everyone tends to be so focused on his voice!
I heard there was a secret chord That David played and it pleased the Lord But you don't really care for music, do you? Well it goes like this the fourth, the fifth The minor fall and the major lift The baffled king composing Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Well your faith was strong but you needed proof You saw her bathing on the roof Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew you She tied you to her kitchen chair She broke your throne and she cut your hair And from your lips, she drew the Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Baby, I've been here before I've seen this room and I've walked this floor You know, I used to live alone before, I knew you And I've seen your flag on the marble arch And Love is not a victory march It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Well, there was a time when you let me know What's really going on below But now you never show that to me, do you? But remember, when I moved in you And the holy dove was moving too And every breath, we drew was Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Maybe there's a God above But, all I've ever learned from love Was how to shoot somebody who outdrew you? And it's not a cry, that you hear at night It's not somebody, who's seen the light It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah ...
Nice tone on the tele! R u playing straight through the amp with a bit of reverb? or do u hav another effect? U definitely captured that rich tele tone. You could possibly free time it on the outro a tad bit not that what u played was bad. It was in time I free time it a bit & just think it adds some magic... It's amazing how long Jeff can sing a note effortlessly on the outro without having to take a breath.... Bucleys version is by far the best. Literally a composition very elegantly done
Thank you very much for the kind words! Jeff's guitar tone is quite straightforward, it's a telecaster straight into a Fender amp (preferably a Fender twin) and you then want to add a lot of plate reverb with quite a long decay. I agree the ending is definitely a free time kind of feel, I just had to programme in all the ridiculous time signature/tempo changes at the end so the music would scroll in time with what I'm playing 😂 yes you're right Jeff really could hold those long notes effortlessly!
I think you're right, the variations were instinctive/intuitive. Everyone always tends to focus on Jeff's vocal ability but I think he was a very underrated guitarist!
@@daveshannonguitaracademy Thank you so much for your answer! I was learning this song with a student today and couldn't figure out if there was a logic behind the variation. I ended up just giving my student some picking patterns and said that the best way was probably just to mix it up on instinct. Also, on bar 16, isn't it a b augmented chord? Like 2 on the A string, 1 on the D string and 0 on the g string?
Hi there! I'm currently in the process of building a platform where I'll make all of my tabs available to download (for free) so they'll all be in one place and (hopefully!) logically organised - please stay tuned 🙂
This is soooo good. Did you manually change tempos and time signatures 37 times for the tab at the end or did you somehow automate that? Either way, wow. Magic!
It would be cool if you did one for the live at sin-e performance and bearsville as well. Those have different intros which I think are superior to the album version👍
