I agree that Dire Wolf got themselves in a messy situation but imagine the uproar if they didn't attempt to make Uprising and Bloodline "compatible" with Imperium. Dune Imperium with Ix and Immortality is already a complete game (and gotten bloated). Bloodline is for Uprising; that's the intent of the design. Dire Wolf is just trying to appease the Imperium owners with "Frankenstein" options. Once I get Bloodline, my copy of Ix is going to my friend who already owns my copy of Imperium. Imperium owners should just stick with what they got and IX & Immortality. Or scrap it and move onto Uprising and add Bloodline for more stuff. In my mind, Imperium and Uprising are two different games and IMO, Uprising is better and will likely be even more so with Bloodline.
I think a bunch of fans of the game will enjoy having two different iterations of the game. Why pick one over the other when you can have both. Personally for me, I'll still enjoy playing base with Ix and Immortality sometimes and I'll have fun playing Uprising with Bloodlines. It's my favorite game so I'm in the more is better camp.
Dune Imperium and its expansions, including this one, are among the first victims in my personal shift in direction. There was a time when I would have snapped up Imperium and its expansions no questions asked. But, I already have too many games that I don't play as much as I like. And, I really really like the original Dune and its two expansions. And so, while it certainly may be a game I'd like a lot, I'm not marrying into the Dune Imperium cadet branch. I'm trying to add fewer games that I don't really really need in favor of devoting more time to what I have.
I just fully embrace my GAS and buy everything that has DUNE slapped on it. These games are gold. I’ll play more when I finish my 30+ unfinished pc games, when I master guitar playing, stop collection blu rays, finish painting all my minis, and graduated from Astrophysics. Oh I also work 9 to 5 and have a family to tend to. No stress, I’m only 52. Cheers.
@@lizflaherty1374 thanks! I guess I meant in a breeding program sort of way. At this point I figure all humans in the dune universe have some sort of manipulated genetics. But still, I’m not even certain on that so you’re probably right. Thanks for watching!
@@TheCardboardHerald a lot of the noble bloodlines are genetically manipulated yah, but probably not criminals on salusa secundus (unless there’s stuff in the prequel books, I only read a couple of those). i’m being pedantic tho, i just tend to impulsively correct stuff when it comes to dune lore. probably because i love the way the setting usurps the common expectations of the sci-fi genre.
I absolutely hate what Dire Wolf did with Uprising and now Bloodlines. I have DI with the first two expansions, and then once they released Uprising, saying the first two expansions could work with it, and then Bloodline and saying it can work with either, just turned me off from buying any more content. They need to get their crap together and decide what they really want their games to be, because this mix-and-match is not customer friendly, and does not make for better games. It should have been DI with two expansions, and then Uprising is a new version with it's own dedicated expansions.
I actually like the optionality, and still enjoy playing both games. Though I’ve only ever played uprising by itself, with no expansions, whereas I prefer the base with Ix plus immortality.
Played DI and loved it, played the first expansion and returned it on Steam immediately. I didn't see it as improving anything, the original game was basically already perfect for what it was.
@@Anyguy4321probably not the nicest comment but 100% agreed with the stranger. DI IX, is an undeniable improvement to almost every single part of base game. In fact, you could say the quality of the game doubles or even quadruples with the expansion

My solution: stick to D:I with Ix, and don't worry about being a completist.

Why do you go on buying every expansion they release ?
Because its there !!!!!!
Yeah they did a pretty horrible job with the way they expanded this game imo. For me, the original base game is the best balanced and best experience.

This is the best board game ever made, you can tell what you want, hate it or love it, best game ever made! 💪🏻🖕🏼
so so good
You should try Dune: Shadow Emissary. 😋
Background music is very distracting and annoying. It adds nothing but bad to an otherwise good video.

IX improved upon DI in almost every way so you have no idea what you're talking about which makes sense because you provided no real reasoning at all.
@@Anyguy4321lol you’re right about Ix but could say it in a much nicer way

How so? And how do you compare it to immortality?@@pabloandresarenas
