The answer to all of these 'How Good Is...' questions is easy: how well can they OTK? Can Malchezaar OTK? Unless you manage to get 4 King Krushes with 7 Emperor reductions, then no. Therefore, unless you manage to get 4 King Krushes with 7 Emperor reductions, then Malchezaar is bad.

For me where I don't have every card in the game Prince Malchezaar works awesome. I put him into Reno Monkey mage and warrior decks and I get cards like Skeleton Knight or Gruul who won most games for me. I have about 65% win rate

I actually just hit rank 15 with my mage deck for the first time thanks to malche, Got pretty lucky with legendaries, but, considering I am a player with few cards and almost no legendaries (also, cannot easily compete with all the 100% constructed decks), that actually made me pretty happy :3

Is that even true though? Given that it's worse than a regular 5/6 and given that people without legendaries generally can't make decent control/ fatigue decks it doesn't really do much for them. If Blizz wanted to make things better for people without legendaries they'd make it less of an atrocious grind getting them.

I've found this card to be quite good in my self-made mid-range Paladin deck because I have no legendaries in that deck without him. I find that I almost always get legendaries I can find a use for from him.
Of course, I top out at rank 16, so take that how you will.

Prince is amazing if you pick him early because he guarantees late game and you can focus on picking quality cards in the draft over filling your curve.
He got me 9-3 and 7-3 Rogue runs a few weeks ago. Rogue is great with him if you get backstabs, and eviscerates.

I think Prince Malchezaar works alright in Reno decks. While its nice that it adds 5 legendaries, the problem with most decks is that the card disrupts the overall purpose of most of the decks, rather than improving it. Because rather than drawing a card you need, there is a given chance that you are going to draw a random legendary, which can be either good or bad. So far, I have been pretty lucky with Malchezaar.
I deeply admire your ability to speak for 6 1/2 minutes without stuttering too much or digressing but holy shit 6 1/2 minutes.

I play it in my resurection deck and it works ! You can draw legendaries that match against your opponent deck and resurect it many times
What malchezar does is allow you to play a card advantage oriented game, without fearing fatigue. So in control vs control you insta win with a malchezaar. The thing is not ''less fatigue damage'' its literaly playing more cards than your opponent. You can have 5 cards vs your opponents 2, and still be even in cards in deck. While only doing 1 for 1 trades and removal.
In one arena run I got Loatheb and Malchezaar. So 7 legendaries in total.
That was my first 0-3 run in over a year...

I think that play where he traded with the 7/7 instead of dropping the Illusionist and using his weapon was a misplay. He already had played the 7/7, so he kinda tested for a single-target removal, but not AOE. Even if it wasn't for the fact that fire elemental screwed him in that situation... but considering that it is basically the flame-strike of shamans in terms of strong plays you need to play around, even the fire elemental is noteworthy here.

From what I've experienced, this card can be good if you get the legendaries that you deemed to be too slow to originally put into your deck when you match up against control matchups.
I like the random factor. I have other cards like emperor thaurissan and it plays into some high mana legendaries I can pull out

Wanna talk about a first? I drafted prince malchazaar a while ago, so excited. First game was against another rogue with malchazaar I honestly thought it was just a glitch
And yet i ran an arena run with Mage where i drafted TWO Malchezaar and went 12-1. They were the key card to 3 of my wins.
Everytime my opponent in arena has Malchezaar i thank them for the free win. I face Malchezaar during every arena run these days and never have i lost against someone with him. Thanks guys and keep picking Malchezaar whenever youre playing in EU.
Eh, i've had average but decent success incorporating him into Monkey / Control Warrior. That might seem a bit redundant but considering my collection is still lacking key legendaries for that archetype like alexstraza, thalnos and ysera even after years of grinding since the closed beta, he's helped me quite a bit by delaying fatigue and giving me an initial offering of legendaries to work with (even if i end up just converting them into other legendaries via the monkey)
and while yes, he may slow down my monkey overall, the anti-fatigue advantage is just massive. being 5 cards ahead of your opponent in such a heavy control deck is an incredible advantage.
I play a Prince malc, Cthun, Nzoth, Reno paladin deck and its fun as hell, I'm looking into making a version with dragon synergy as well.
Was only able to draft him twice, in which he did help in arena fatigue games and the occasional game-winning legendaries. Fun card though.
Prince Malchezaar is the best card rng save for me i played some frekich fun to play warior deck with prince malcheazaar and reno in rank 10 and my oppenent was mill rogue it was frustrating but the prince give me my salvation Death wing i didnt have in the deck but because the prince gifted me DW i won the game i must say it can deliver if you are lucky that is
I've had a good bit of success with it in a dragon paladin deck, I don't have all of the legendary dragons, and considering how many legendary cards are dragons or have dragon synergies I can reliably get around at least two cards that i can use, even use Nozdormu as just another dragon card in my hand also it tends to add a lot of powerful cards to my late game, while I have gotten Millhouse Manastorm, Lorewalker Cho, and Majordomo, I have also gotten Cairne Bloodhoof, Ragnaros The Firelord, Ysera, and N'Zoth. While I do have some of those they are not in that deck because on their own they are not worth that last card slot, but Prince Malchezaar is a chance at several of them. So as long as you have enough card draw you can easily just ignore the bad legendaries and use the good ones.
I see this as an amazing card for what its worth, it gives you more cards that are legendaries and it doesn't matter what you get becasue 90% of legendaries I get are extremely useful, if you have a deck that's pretty good, its like adding icing to the cake imo.

Since this card came out I had only a few arena runs in which I didn`t encounter it. And 90 % I just go full aggro and win. At first it was horror to see it but now its rather relief. :D
Well, I like to play a thief rogue in constructed and have besides VanCleef, Sylvanas and N-Zoth no other legendaries in my deck. As a body Malchazaar is okay and because I have not many legendaries, he gave me very often quite helpfull legendaries. As long it isn't majordomo, Milhouse or cho... it helps. Sure, on legend rank it is different but is quite satisfying to drop a Rag, followed by Anub and finally N'zoth ( which happend impressively often tbh
I run this on my ramp Druid and 90% of the time it gives me good cards and helps me against fatigue.
I think Malchezaar is like Acidic Swamp Ooze in that people hold special cards in their hand waiting for the bonus effect when it would be correct to tempo them out. I'm always shocked Ooze is rated as low as it is, and I think that's part of the reason.

I am playing some kind of dragonpriest, I play just for fun. With Malchezaar and the different "stealing/copying from enemy deck or class/pick a dragon" mechanics it's great fun and never the same like that boring stuff all those agros are playing. It actually works pretty good a lot of times and I get a shitload of cards (I can get more than 42 for sure), add the emperor, enough draw,... And my opponent can never really know what will come next. Not a deck to hit legendary, not my intention anyway, just having fun.
Malchezaar would be a lot better if it were a battlecry and not a "beginning of the match" effect. Think about it: you wait until you are close to fatigue to drop a decent 5-drop and your deck partially refills... That way he'd be savage and very playable because you can delay his effect until you have the tools you need.

You can have smaller mana legendaries in an aggro deck play malchezar and have like one late game and expect malchexaar to fill you with some late game legendary, it may work cos ur not planning to play till u reavh that stage anyway, but then again drawing the wrong cards in an aggro deck does ruin tempo
I think you need to draft differently when you get Prince Malchezaar, more early game, less late game. Moreover, it should be more powerful in some classes than others.
I feel like it would be quite a bit better if it's effect was a battlecry. That way you could control when you want it and IF you even want it. You can play it late game and hope for some power cards rather than just starting right off the bat with 5 extra cards in your deck fucking up the consistency.
If you have a control mage deck with malchezaar in arena it is awesome. I even threw a game at 11 wins just so i could get some extra lols from another game
I think they can easily fix this card by changing it's effect to battlecry discover a legendary.
Out of context, but i have been trying to play a discard deck, and it's way to inconsistent. They should do the same to the discard mechanic, and instead of random; They allow you to choose which card to discard instead.

This is the most fun card I've ever used (Renolock deck). If it doesn't win me the game, it's because I misplayed. I understand that you can't get Legend with it, but OMG the scenarios it creats :O
I really like the card, im and old player with only Naxx and Blackrock, nothing more, after weeks i got 2800 gold and buyed the adventure. I put it in my Priest Deck in wich i draw a lot, extra cards are very good in my deck

its cause a good number of legendaries are terrible in arena even though there are ones in which can be game winning (cho, millhouse, mukla, hemet, nate, nate again and a few others)
Justin Baker You listed a handfull of Legendaries, what about the mass of crazy Legendaries whose powerlevels excel other arena cards by a lot? You are WAY more likely to get good ones instead of Legendaries that absolutely suck... Think about it, you get random cards anyway, if you get 5 extra Legendaries that probably isn't too bad
ThanExeToDivine not exactly, the lets say paladin for example, their good legendaries include tirion and edric, while the 1/7 guy is okay, and for the neutal we have troggzor and dr.boom, whats more if you put the 5 legendaries inconsistency goes up since you wont be able to draw into the cards you know are good whats more considering you have to go at 12 games in which you have to win except for 2 the chances of you drawing into the terrible legendary increases, and the good legendaries are actually a lot less than the bad ones

Malchezaar is olny good if you are WINNING already. When you need Heals or board clears, he's effect is actually negative to your deck. Like drawing Shifter Zerus on turn 10.
