- Can two pensioners climb the Meibion Owen Cairn? We give it our best effort before heading into Newport on the search for breakfast. No luck there so it was lunch at the Cat Rock cafe instead - mmm dirty fries!
It turned into a glorious afternoon so after walking the length of Newport Beach we drove down onto the sands to relax in the sun.
That evening we drive up into the Preseli Hills and find a beautiful viewpoint to watch the sunset and enjoy our dinner.

Can't imagine the warm weather in December, lovely to see you walking together on the beautiful beach, holding hands on the chair facing the bay for the magnificent sunset.
You said something after picking up the dvd that struck home for me. Before my wife passed away from cancer she always used to say that everything has a silver lining. We ve got 2 bamboo sticks in the van that we found in France, wouldn't go for a walk/little climb without them now, it like having 3 legs like a milking stool, I feel much more stable. Walking sticks are a great idea.! 🚶♀️🚶♂️🌷
I go on no walk without my hand hewn maple walking stick. I know it has saved me more than once. 😊

Yes didn't put yourself at risk climbing up too high
Worst thing you want is a broken ankle or leg then your need some one to come and rescue you or need an air ambulance
Think you know your own limits and you made the right decision

Good advice Fraser, it is easy to forget to just enjoy the moment.
Ahh my favourite place in all the world! We found Newport when I was an archaeology student as there is plenty of prehistoric stuff nearby. We would spend all the summer there in our caravan on Dinas Island (with me commuting to Swansea to work every few days). You visited all our best places and even the viewpoint where we would eat fish and chips and watch the sunset! In high summer, on a clear evening, you can watch the sun set over Ireland and as it dips down over the horizon you can see the Irish mountains backlit. We really enjoyed this one, fab film!

You didn’t need to get any higher on the climb, the later view with your Drone footage shows all, not worth risking life when you actually have it covered in a much safer way. That’s using technology smartly! You do manage to find some very interesting places, again thank you for sharing your lives with us.

Was down in wales a month ago at Laugharne Dylan Thomas Country . Travelled to Tenby and Pembroke. Never been to all those interesting places you have been..Needto go backin Summer and visit Pembrokeshire fully.
Natural selection includes taking the path of least resistance, like walking around a pile of rocks versus going over them to see or get to the other side. Be safe. Thanks for sharing. And yes, the sheep blinked.

Took my car down pendine sands once , as I was driving off the beach there was a guy panicking as he had locked his keys in the car . luckily in the 70ts you could open a car with a pull ring off a coke can 😂great video well done both good luck 👍

Something similar with rock formations and summits and pointing out landmarks etc. Anyway, you are a lovely couple. Thanks for sharing!
Foresty forest is a great channel. There is no way I would be doing the climbs that he does. Quite jealous of his van layout though and we would love a ninja foodie but we don’t have the room or the power. 👍
