Hi guys, great vlog, absolutely loved the look of Orkney and Hoy. That memorial was beautiful and the old man of Hoy was incredible. Such gorgeous scenery and what an awesome park up on Hoy, all that and a rainbow at the end!! Fantastic 😍 thanks for sharing lots of love Julia and Gary ❤️
Oh we totally loved it. There's so much history and so much sadness too. We loved Hoy the walk to the Old Man Of Hoy was amazing! We will definitely return. Thanks for watching and commenting we truly appreciate your support ❤️
Very nice! We enjoyed. Glad you finally found some nice weather. Have a great weekend. Great tour and interesting to hear the history, wonderful memorial. 👍🏻
We can't recommend it enough even with the bad weather. We love history and yes it was nice to visit the memorial. Thank you for watching and commenting we truly appreciate it and you too have a great weekend 😀
Hi Anna, Steve and Isla No idea how we missed this one Another fabulous video St Magnus Cathedral absolutely stunning We went in the Orkney Brewery and got some beers to take back for my dad (Morgs is coeliac so is gluten free and can only drink gluten free beer) We never made it to the memorial for The Royal Oak wish we had it looks very moving. Hoy looks very impressive we need to visit there. Hope you've had a fabulous weekend ❤
@morgsjoboo2247 Hi all, yes The memorial was really moving! Orkney is just lovely we will definitely go back. Yes had 3 relaxing days on a awesome campsite now heading to Dover. Thanks for watching and commenting we really appreciate it ❤️ Have a fabulous week xxx
Nice tour of this area despite the initial weather. Good info on booking the ferry too - we had to do the same recently in Alaska. How long was that ride ? love the areas you guys explore, one day we hope to go too. travel safe!
@bobanddangsjourney thank you. The weather didn't spoil it, really we try not to let it. Ferry to Hoy was half an hour, then 45 minutes to get to the park up was so worth it. We have so much more to explore up there, too. Hope you make it one day Thank you for watching and commenting we truly appreciate it 🙏 Stay safe and safe travels ❤️
Great vlog guys hoy looks amazing you really are writing out itinerary for Orkney and Shetland 😂😂. We would have headed in land as well Sharon really hates strong winds she always thinks we will blow away 😂😂 ❤❤
@rufflyadventuring3579 cheers lovely we can't wait to return. You will love it. Hoy was amazing but so was everywhere else ha ha. You couldn't really see the Van rocking but it really was!! The wind was so strong. Cheers for watching we really appreciate your comments xxx
Ha ha - we might not have a toilet in our tiny micro-camper but we've overnighted in some pretty strong winds, especially on the Wild Atlantic Way in Ireland. Millionaire's one, Gater's nil 😅😅😅. Warm wishes my friends from Millionaire Paul 😀
We go to visit a building whether a church or manor and then find the story behind its existence. Incredible history in every stone. I can only imagine the buffeting the camper must endure in those storms. Gorgeous views....@16:38 and more like @17:12 wow. Stunning sunrise. Love the rainbows...! Great record again of your week. 👌🇳🇱🙋♀🥝
@IamaDutch-Kiwi aww we love history it takes you so back and I always imagine what it would have been like back in the day. Thanks for watching and commenting we truly appreciate your support xx
Great vlog, guys. Hoy looks impressive. The cathedral had an interesting history too it too. The photographer in me wants to know what model of Nikon Steve is shooting with. Will you be including more photos in future videos?

@gatersontour I have a D3300 which is pretty much the same camera. Even though they're pretty old in camera terms, you can get some fantastic shots with them, certainly good enough for prints for the hou...oh hang on 😀
@@gatersontour yes your right it's definitely on the list to do. We're planing a winter road trip so ferrys permitting we might see if we can get there ..
@avancalleddignity aww fabulous. The ferry's are amazing they said the ferry's still run and the sea seems to be calmer too!! We would definitely go up there for winter. Think it's outer favourite place now.... Unst and Yell are amazing too and the people really welcome you.... Everyone waves!! Lol xxx

Oh yes! I had a few of those Orkney Brewery beers. They used to sell their beers at a beer shop near Bergen. Sadly, the shop closed down last year. But it was real quality ale, from Orkney. Very tasty 😊
