  • David and Suzanne want to sell their nine-acre property in Bardon Mill, Northumberland, to start a full-time equestrian centre on a larger farm. But despite shaving £50,000 off the price, they’ve had just five viewings in a year, and not a single offer. While the idyllic setting features four stalls, spectacular views, and a picturesque village nearby, the three-bedroom home’s soulless, charm-free interiors are a major turnoff complete with peeling wallpaper, purposeless rooms, and dated, mismatched furniture.
Enter real estate experts John Rennie and Sofie Allsopp. They vow to boost the home’s prospects. And while John beefs up the marketing effort and encourages better communication with the agent, Sofie brings in lots of light and charm with a contemporary design plan that yields impressive results. Will their efforts attract a horse-loving family to Bardon Mill?

Another remarkable transformation! I was wondering what the kitchen looked like, though.

Two things I can never understand 1 why can’t the owners see what’s needed, and 2 don’t buyers have any imagination at all ?

Good job on the spare room, but painting a wall red, especially in a study where you need harmony and focus, is a terrible idea

I always enjoy seeing Sophie. The man who ordinarily does the repairs was especially needed here. The exterior of the house looks very dilapidated and could use some serious refinishing. In the after photos, several electrical chords were showing inside the house and it would look so much better if they were hidden or tacked to the walls near the carpet.

Don't these homes have bathrooms and kitchens? Okay you could at least show them maybe not redo them but at least show them.

I am same way :) I love outdoors far more than indoors :) For a some time, I lived in a dismal house surrounded by fantastic garden :))) I realized the error of my ways and fixed the house, too :)

There doesn't appear to be a front door anywhere. The entry door looks like a back door and the steps up and landing are foreboding and scary without a rail. Also, looks like there is no level ground on the 9 acres anywhere. They did a good job on the interior; successful transformation.

That lounge looked like a Really boring pub before!! It was lovely to see the difference in the couple, the before despondent and actual enthusiasm afterwards. Yes, that was Northern rural enthusiasm 😂 The rooms looked so much better now too. It's always going to be a niche market for property like that but could have been targeted at a much larger market especially with the train station, great for commuters too.

That man does not add 1 thing to this show! She was great doing it by herself.

Another Sophie irregular. On most other shows gif there's red walls she paints over them, here she painted red. ???? She was thinking of pink wall? Absolutely crazy.

It makes me wonder that the little girls didn’t say “And I can keep a pony right here at home!” I would think only horsey people would be interested in such a property. I know I would love it!

For this program, it seems like the owners know what to do to get it marketable, but hold off on a few rooms to be used in an episode. It’s a good exchange, if the refurbishing is free for the sellers.

They live close to the Hadrian Wall. I always loved that movie King Arthur with Clive Owen. It was set in the Roman Fort Wall time.
