I am from Egypt and have been following you for a long time but I do not know good products in Egypt because I have tried many and none of them benefited from my heavy curly hair. I hope you look and see the best products available in the Egyptian market and try it
I have used the Fiber, Defining Paste, Pomade, Forming Cream, Molding Clay. and the Grooming Cream. Here is my take: Before I start, I have to say I have thick hair and bit wavy that weighs down when it gets longer. Fiber: It’s not that hard to warm up so that is great. It made my hair look really dry, like it gave me negative shine. The texture you get is alright. The hold is not that great if you have long hair. If you hace short hair this might be good for you Paste: Kinda hard to apply and the hold was not that great. I dont remember much of it, didnt use it that much so it was meh. Pomade: It smells good imo. Really easy to warm up and apply. But the hold is bad. It says it’s a medium but I would say it’s a low medium. It weighs my hair down when it’s not even that long. The shine is great though. This pomade is not good if you want a classic pomade look. Forming Cream: The consistency of this cream is weird. Like he said: it’s tacky. Now the hold is a true medium but it was weird, it made my hair look really wavy, more than usual. It highlights those waves. The natural shine is nice though. It’s not that great but it’s not bad but because it made my hair look really wavy I didn’t like it. Molding Clay: Oh boy, where do I start. This is the worst product I have ever used. The smell is bad imo but not strong so you can’t really smell it once you apply it, that’s the only good thing. It is so greasy it’s disgusting. It gives a medium shine but not the nice shine, what he said about the shine is true. The hold is def not high hold. It’s a light medium maybe true medium. It weighs my hair down, it is so heavy. Washability is horrible, even after using shampoo I still had the feeling that I had some in my hair still. Application is okay and it’s not that hard to warm up but since it’s so greasy it feels diagusting. only use it when I get a hair is short like after I get a haircut, I only use it for a week. It’s okay when I use it when my hair is short. Grooming Cream. This may be their best product along with the Fiber. It smells great, it’s super easy to apply and warm up. The shine it’s great and it lasts for a really long time. The only thing I don’t like is that it doesn’t give any volume. This product is great for a slick back haircut like a 60’s haircut or something like that. I only bought it cause it was the only one of the main 6 that I haven’t tried. Rating: Fiber: 7/10 Pomade: 5/10 Defining Paste: ? Forming Cream: 5.5/10 Molding Clay: 3/10 Grooming Cream: 7/10 Final Verdict. AMERICAN CREW products are not the best, some are trash, some are okay, some like the Fiber and Grooming Cream are actually solid. I don’t think spending $14-$16 on these is worth it.
American Crew used to be my go to hair product before I discovered BluMaan products. I used to use American Crew forming cream (pre-styler) and pomade for my hair with both jars lasting about a month. Now I use Original (pre-styler) and Cavalier heavy clay to style my hair with both jars lasting a little over two months since I don't have to use as much each time I style my hair. In my area American Crew 3 oz jars costs about $18 and BluMaan 2.5 oz jars costs about $4.50 more with shipping. So every two months I spend $45 with BluMaan compared to $72 with American Crew which is a savings of $27. I just wanted to let everyone know how much I enjoy your products. Also my hair looks better now than ever before thanks to your how to videos and styling tips for thick hair. Keep up the good work and I'm looking forward to more great content.
The clay is awful. I couldn’t even run my fingers through my hair without a giant resistance from the product. It actually hurt my scalp trying to do that. Immediately washed it out and glad it wasn’t something I bought but got it put in my hair by my barber
I've found that American Crew Forming Cream works pretty well as a pre-styler, especially for how cheap you can get it. Putting the product in wet and blowdrying it also reduces the stickiness and shine of the product by a lot.
I have used many hair care products over the years and American Crew Forming ($17-) works best for my hair! It holds well and makes my hair soft. Love it
have you thought about getting a P.O Box? :) Would like to send you the hair wax i've been using for over 10 years :p would be cool to see you use the prodcuts people might send you. i won't send shit i promise :)
I like American Crew Molding Clay and I’ll explain why. American Crew has to (or should) differentiate their products so if their Clay had a matte finish, what would differentiate it from their Fiber? American Crew Molding Clay is a great product for short hair when you need higher hold (about 1-3 inches or so) but still want a shine. If you used American Crew Pomade or Grooming Cream (their other products with a shine) on shorter hair of that length, you would not get a good hold from the Pomade and not a good texture from the Grooming Cream. The Molding Clay does not feel as greasy on short hair and provides a hold where you can “spike” hair and it would hold. When hair gets longer and you still want a shine, the Pomade (light hold for a more relaxed style) or Grooming Cream (high hold for a slick look) have much better textures for longer hair. The products just depend on your needs.
A fiber is meant to provide proteins so that your hair can grow and become stronger, while a clay is meant to provide texture (curls, waves, bushy, or straight), so adding shine is like making your hair wavy before splashing vaseline on it afterwards. It's also like making the perfect coffee before adding tons of water in it. In addition, Ben Arthur has short and fine hair and absolutely despised the molding clay. In any case, American Crew really isn't healthy or benificial in the long run
Fiber was terrible but i liked the pomade they have. Would i buy them again? For the price not really, unless i was on a trip and forgot to take some hair products and this was what they had I guess I'd go for the pomade.
I love these budget breakdown videos!! Please keep this a weekly thing!! Also, I know it might be a conflict of interest because you guys are both youtubers. But you should do a video about Pete&Pedro products!!
I'm really enjoying making them all. however i think once a week would be slightly too much. I'm aiming for 2 a month, if i make more than that the quality might decrease and that's not what i want
Personally, I have used American Crew's fiber, paste, Pomade and heavy hold pomade. I have never had a problem with them it to be fair my hair is very easy to work with.
You dodged a bullet with their pomade, it’s like using shortening to style your hair, no hold and tons of grease, honestly the only positive thing I can say about it is the scent is amazing and I love it, other than that it’s horrific
Male hairdresser here, never liked American Crew. Products are far too tacky to do anything with. Do Tigi Bed Head for Men next? Or try the Sebastian Matte Putty, Shine Crafter, Molding Mud, Craft Clay, Microweb Fiber, Eruptik, and Resintek?
Honestly, i only like AC because theyre just really convenient to acquire, i dont have to order online and wait for my "premium product", i can settle for a decent quality item at my local CVS or Target.
BluMaan ok please review tigi as it is easily available in india.....Nd one more thing that blumaan products are not available in india at real price.....
You should"ve tried American Crew's Defining Paste. That stuff is actually really good once you learn how to use it. Much better than any other American Crew Product.
I have been using American crew fiber as a prestyler and Suavecito firm hold as a post styler and sometimes if I want it to hold well I will use Harry’s holding spray
I currently use American Crew gel and pomade, and I feel like I should use something better, but I'm only 15 and I just got into trying out different products this year. I really like the cut I got recently: short but not shaved on the sides and probably around 2 inches on the top. I like when my hair is longer, but it's so kinky and unruly, and difficult to take care of. I've never straightened my hair before, but I'd love to try it out. I'd love to try out a quiff or a pomp once my hair is longer, but I don't quite know what length I should leave my hair at. Does anyone have a suggestion for a better product that I could use when I'm ready?
Johnson's baby powder will add texture and remove excess shine from your hair like that boost powder. I tried it decades ago and it worked like a charm. ;-)
emerican crew seems to me a company that gave up,weird though because their "thickening" shampoo literally grew back?fixed a thin spot i had that NEVER came back so i gave them a hero badge
Can u wash your hair before trying out products My hair is extremely flat and thick with no volume what so ever I hate my hair so much. And I got so angry on how it looked I shaved all my hair off and fell into depression on the way I looked..stupid really but my hair is the main thing that makes me look handsome really it’s changed the way I look drastically like omg
I love all of the Blumaan products. I use the original as a pre-styler every single day and usually the Cavalier clay as a post-styler. I use a lot of products that I rotate regularly depending on my hair length. Even though I love the products, I don't love the packaging. It's definitely cheap. My last order of the Hybrid and Original (received a week ago) were especially bad. You can have stickers as labels on plastic containers, that's fine. However, at least have them flush and clean with the surface and sides. It looks like a child put them on, they're all wrinkled and out of alignment and peeling off. They are not products I like having out on my shelf with all of the other ones. I would cut out the cardboard box and put money and effort on the jars and lids. Blumaan products are at a premium price point, and there are other products out there that cost less and come in premium jars. ie. Arcadian Clay ($4 less than Blumaan, and more product in the jar) Prelude, Damon Barber, High Rise. Even though Hans De Fuko products suck, they suck as a company, the packaging although not premium, feels and looks a lot better than Blumaan. I won't stop buying the products becuase they work for me but the packaging definitely needs a boost.
American crew forming cream and defining paste are the 2 best ....fiber is good also ....forming cream is the top selling one on Amazon and one I use most....defining paste is great on long or short hair I think is better then fiber it's similar with a better scent and slightly lighter hold and easier to spread ...the only other one I'd buy on occasion would be heavy hold pomade if I wanted that big shine look...I've tried them all .. the clay, regular pomade, and grooming cream are the worst ones
I am from Egypt and have been following you for a long time but I do not know good products in Egypt because I have tried many and none of them benefited from my heavy curly hair. I hope you look and see the best products available in the Egyptian market and try it
Although I found many of their products to be quite disappointing, American Crews Liquid Wax is my current favourite hair product - Great for a casual all day look, and something I have not been able to reproduce with other products.
do a vid on shampoos that don't break the bank. Wife and myself have tried numerous shampoos with Argan oil and we both shed like crazy from that ingredient which is the only common ingredient. Non Argan and no problem
Next on Budget Breakdown- Cremo! Cremo started as a shaving product line selling shaving creams and what not, but now they have reached out to making products that help people with beards, like beard oils and scrubs and they've also just come out with hair products. I'd be interested to see what Joe and BluMaan think of these hair products that Cremo had just come out with.
American Crew Defining Paste is a lighter and more workable version of Fiber with a medium hold, more masculine scent, and less tacky feel. For me it rivals Bumble and Bumble Sumotech (though the B&B has a slightly better scent).
If you go to Dollar General they sell a product called Hats Off Hair Pomade, its comparable to American Crew and in my area is only $4, for some reason I cant find it online, only at Dollar generals
Hey...do import "urban gabru "zero to infinity water soluble clay" It's one of the cheapest and has got quite a popularity... Please do review. It costs around $5
i had to use crew for a week bc i ran out of my other stuff b4 my next hair cut appointment and it didnt hold my hair for shit and my hairs pretty short. it would go down about 3-5 hours into my day
I actually like the red top one. Haven’t found anything else that has both the hold mailability. Either has a nice feel and is mailable but hold is terrible or the hold is good but feels terrible in my hair and isn’t mailable
Bologna. I use American Crew Fiber and love it. Smells great, works better for my hair, and doesn't leave a nasty chemically smell on my hands or hair, washes out easily and I don't have to spend 10 minutes doing my hair ;) Oh and what kind of review doesn't really say WHY its "Not so good." Saying "There's better stuff out there" isn't really informative at all.
make sure to leave a comment on what the next budget breakdown series should be on!

American Crew Defining Paste is a lighter and more workable version of Fiber with a medium hold, more masculine scent, and less tacky feel. For me it rivals Bumble and Bumble Sumotech (though the B&B has a slightly better scent).
Is funny but the one you don't like is the one that caught my attention .... lol, am buying it for sure. Thanks for the review.
I was here at 1 view. Been a fan since you first started. Please keep up the quality content!!
Please do Axe/ Lynx next
And Layrite and Old Spice
have you seen our community tab poll?
The American crew one I have is forming cream buy I love fiber
I tried the Fiber once. The odour was very off-putting to me. The jar I tried was very chemical smelling. Instant migraine. Yeah, I binned that stuff
American Crew Should Improve or Make a 2.0 Version of their Products in my OPINION
I think i have American crew. I have short hair like sometimes short like crew cut
If you go to Dollar General they sell a product called Hats Off Hair Pomade, its comparable to American Crew and in my area is only $4, for some reason I cant find it online, only at Dollar generals
I use American Crew: Defining Paste, with Original as a pre-styler. What's your opinion on that one?
Lol molding clay goes for $18.99 where I live, what a rip off, it’s literally almost the same price as some actual quality products
Buy it off amazon I got 17 dollar product for 9
I like there Fiber and pomade (smell), review Axe yellow can
I don't get why everyone rips on American Crew. I've liked pretty much all of their products except the Clay.
The highlights are looking so good man ... keep it up 👏🏻
Brad Wilmot yah
thanks BATMAAANNNN
this was your best hairstyle imo
Hey...do import "urban gabru "zero to infinity water soluble clay" It's one of the cheapest and has got quite a popularity... Please do review. It costs around $5
i had to use crew for a week bc i ran out of my other stuff b4 my next hair cut appointment and it didnt hold my hair for shit and my hairs pretty short. it would go down about 3-5 hours into my day
Joe Is Bluemaan any good? Or Tiege Hanley?
Do you still require a better perception?
American crew is more for me a pre style when using think products like clays, but to expensive
I actually like the red top one. Haven’t found anything else that has both the hold mailability.
Either has a nice feel and is mailable but hold is terrible or the hold is good but feels terrible in my hair and isn’t mailable
What about the American Crew pomade?
You really missed the "defining paste" which is in my option very good. It works very good to bring a meessy short hair look alive.
Next thing you should try are Reuzel products or Kevin Murphy. They’re incredible products and I use both brands and interchange them pretty often.
Kevin Murphy is expensive
Next Time please Osis (everyday use) or Tigi Bedhead.
Bed head has two jar types. One is blue the other green...any chance you can review these?
Thank you for all your videos, very helpful to a guy who has thick, wavy hair.
You should definitely do Cremo products. Surprisingly good!
Bring these vids back
