@@ma001eb If colourism exists in Jamaica and the other Caribbean countries on the wide scale that some say that it does and which claim I do not necessarily support, at least as it relates to Jamaica, one must then ask who the main perpetrators of this practice are. Although most black people are intelligent and have enough pride and self- love ad self -respect to appreciate the beauty of their own complexion and that of their black-skinned fellow men, other backward and mentally enslaved black people are among the worst pr actitioners +-+of-black colourism. These colourist black people are the ones that are most seen overtly or covertly discriminating against other black people,
These are the out of many families which were not slavers wealth transfer to family members generation
The pictures of the Issa’s, Orane etc is wrong put the right picture.
Like anywhere else, the Jamaican population needs to become informed consumers: who are they buying from, and how are these companies they support reinvesting into their community or country? What opportunities are they creating for future generations instead of focusing on brand and price.
Some of these companies are publicly traded. We all can have a piece of the pie by purchasing shares in the market. You don't have to be rich. Some stock prices are the cost of a meal.
Of course they keep it in THEIR FAMILIES these families seems like they originated from elsewhere except Jamaica all but one…..🤔
Everyone in Jamaica came from somewhere else. We are all immigrants, either from Africa, Asia or EUrope. I am not sure of the point you are trying to make. Explain please.
@@16blank45not true, could u look into it deeper
Our motto is, Out of Manny one people.
But in this case out of Manny Money 💰 few family 🎉
Qqqqqqqqqq😊
Hes trying to say everybody whos listed is not black, they are white@16blank45
Is anyone surprised. Jamaica used to be a British colony.
No jamicans were the old British before draconian rules wich are still them pipe down
I don't know if you have already, but if not, could you do one of these for Trinidad and Tobago, Haiti, and Guyana, please?
The Mayberrys? YP Seaton? Sagicor? JN Group? VM Group? JMMB? Where do these fit in?
It’s a family video…nt necessarily companies/businesses
FAMILY, those are not family owned, neither by 1 person plus jmmb doesnt generate that much consistently to be on the list. They are just popular with ads.
I was thinking the same
Good info. Good perspective.
Business underscores growth & development Profitable ventures are a natural progression!!
Are billionaires yet Jamaican people suffer like slaves
Well thier not the government so why should they bare the weight of the nation yes they can help and they so but stop acting as if just because their billionaires they should solve a countries problem no they don't have to cause there's the government for that.
Mahfood .. fam 40B Bro is those figure right .. 40 B .. and we don't have proper play stadium and playing field ..
Why so? Can you start being the solution to the changes you want to see happen.
Any place that has billionaires has poverty around, few control the wealth while the majority has little.
There money in Swiss Banks@@ballakick9080
They create lasting positive changes in jamaican society? Well they are the only ones given opportunities and kickbacks plus many racism
Yes indeed!! Britain is still control Jamaica.
Most blacks choose to invest elsewhere as they see Jamaica as a time bomb because of the leaderships
What about the Gore family? Bicknell, Kerr-Jarret? Hart? Hendrickson?
didnt you watch the video?
@@CarnelChin-e3g skimmed it.
We have to unite and take back out riches
... GEEZ ... ITS DEN-NOES AND GEDDEZ !!!
The hairstyles of the women give me chills 🥶. It's like multiple clones of the same woman. It screams "****"
INACCURATE - LOTS OF MISINFORMATION HERE. Orane Family for instance does not own GraceKennedy. The name is Kennedy. So lots of inaccuracies.
I love my country jamaica ❤
This is embarrassing, not gonna lie, Jamaicans need to step up in business like they do athletically.
Fr
And so much people suffering like that
What a disgusting thing- don’t accept any charity from them it’s a insult
It might be that the music entertainment economy is taking more seriously than the other sectors of business in Jamaica. This is probably the difference.
For all the slow people on here,Jamaica is majority black with other nationalities
ace groups. These people build Jamaica economy.
These individuals are an inspiration to all hardworking Jamaican and a sense of pride to all. It’s shows to the world that Jamaican can hold their own in the financial system.
I am proud of these Jamaican who have achieved so much financially and otherwise. Let’s not included race or the color of one’s skin in this monumental achievement that these Jamaican has made. We are one Jamaican black white or brown… I am sure there are numerous black Jamaica who are achieving and growing rapidly and will soon join these famous Jamaican.
These leading families employ thousands of people and have helped to place Jamaica on the world map and bring investment to Jamaica. They are not parasites.
Slavery and plantation system did the same thing.
@@renogamble743What are you doing to provide employment for Jamaicans? Until you are doing what they are doing, your opinion doesn't count.
Super plus been closed over a decade and a half now....
All those decades of making sure only a few families are able to invest and grow in Jamaica and all some of these families can show for it is a couple hundred millions?
Supm not adding up here.
I just take it with a grain of salt, we know those family make money in Ja else they would be in business up to this day the some name and info might be off, like Wisynco Group annual revenue at 40B that might be off ..
Many of us has Jamaican do not have a good night dinner much a bed while the rich getting larger and Richer
@@JoanCampbell-d3h so is the rich stopping them from having good night sleep n bed ?
@@JoanCampbell-d3h So do something about it and stop whining. Work and invest some of your money.
Where's your 300mil USD?
These figures don’t wright sir these people way past this by far far far
no the country is poor the gdp would be higher
What about the Gore Family and Skeng Don?
It is sad someone investigates and obtains information via internet etcetera, without any idea of how wealth was created. I went to University in Canada with Mike Lee Chin, heard him referred to by the "n" word in Canada, knew him when we both had nothing and borrowed money in Canada to start a business which he grew into what it is. To hear judgemental comments implying gain from positions of slavery is abominable.
We're coming to take over 💖💛💚
But it is said that the Stewarts or not related to the stewarts motors owner.
You upset two things that are not correct Joseph matalan is richer than that but to any Jamaican that watch these kind of videos and think it is nice it is a disgrace I am not sure if we are luck in ambition but when I go across Jamaica I see these things and I'm not proud I am going to do something about it I'm giving myself 15 years I prophesy
Douglas Orane was head of Grace Kennedy but that organization is not owned solely by Orane and his family
Richard Stewart and Gordon Stewart have same last name but are not brothers and probably not closely related as Gordon Stewart' s father was a Cox and was adopted by someone with Stewart last name
Look absolutely brilliant. All these people provide services to the Jamaican people that they want. Except opportunity.
I would ask everyone to look at South Africa's attempt to de-colonialize there are economy and provide opportunity for their black citizens.
They have black board membership and support from the government yet they have struggled with creating black businesses, opportunities and jobs. They are trying to create a black stable middle class and have fallen short.
It turns out in the real world there are many structural, economic and legacy barriers that stop black economic progress.
I do know that the British Government had to build a prison in Jamaica, at British expense, to house all the Jamaican murderers, drug dealers, gang members etc deported from the UK criminal system back to their island paradise.......Otherwise Jamaica refused to have them back - such is the true face of Jamaican pride.
There are a few inaccuracies in your post, a lot of these people I know well, but I won’t point out the errors as some of these people would want to keep them in. Sorry.
Can you do trinidad and tobago 🇹🇹
What about the henriques family
How much per week the poor men and women take home to feed there families, the little man that keep the floor , kitchen, yard , windows, toilet , store rooms and landscaping ECT. How much per month they take home . Don't tell me $15 and or $20 thousand dollars.
What about that Holnes Family
I don't understand how these investors have helped the economy. Schools and healthcare looks no different to me. Some areas the roads are accidents waiting to happen, especially round by Junction, on the way to Kingston. Only one black man in the whole group?? In my opinion, these people created enough generational wealth to stay in control. If they were really a help to Jamaicans and Jamaica, the island would be more prosperous for everyone.
Not one black family in the line up. SMH. BACKSIDE.
How many families owned America
Bob Marley's father was a white business man who often befriended black jamaican women.
Only the Black messiah is going to give us back what was stolen
Those people complaining live in foreign lands. Why dont you return to do investment in the country and balance the wealth gap? Anyway, we are black people and our most productive tool is our mouths. We only chat. No action.
What about Shera
I don’t see any court Jesters on that list…what’s really good?🤷🏽♂️😂🤨
You miss out John Greaves in Tank Weld Ltd
More power to them but hear is the thing, I think they should reach out to guide some native black to reach to the top while helping in the development of the country. Also real impact is when workers are treated fairly.
exploytation at its finest, not one black jamaican billionaire?
@user-mx3hz7pr3s, instead of complaining, why don't you get up off your back side and start doing something to make the changes that you want to see happen.
Actually there was one. Maybe two if you count Lee Chin. But there was actually one black family.
My uncle a billionaire
@@LM-xn2ki You actually can't. You see tis as a coincidence. After hundreds of years not one black family. Am I to believe that we are that stupid and docile? With all that wealth on the island, it is actually one of the richest counties in the world that rival the U.S.A, per capita.
Lee-Chin is half black
Why didnt this narrators nention the bkack jami ans toi. This is onky half people
THESE FAMILIES HAVE OPERATED IN A WAY THAT KEEPS THEM AT THE TOP AND THE VAST MAJORITY OF JAMAICANS UNDER THEIR FEET. THE SLAVE SYSTEM IS STILL INTANT WITH THE SLAVE MASTERS AND THE SLAVES. SO SAD
Damn I forgot bout super plus
MY JAMAICAN PEOPLE THIS IS WHAT THEY THESE MFS DO.. STOP HURTING EACH OTHER AND RISE UP AND HELP EACH OTHER.
With all that said, let's not forget that Britain still controls Jamaica.
I Love it
Wherever there is no unity others usually enter the arena to control establishment not just Jamaica so many other places were resources are abundant and ignorance rules
That’s what it means to destabilize country. To create and maintain an environment where the people have no unity. This way you can enter the arena and control the establishment. This continues to be done all around the world.
The list is incorrect
