I would like to see a video on government income including allowances. The reason being that some leaders in the Caribbean allowances are much more than their salary. Factor rent, entertainment, and more which the country has to pay. This list could change if you factor all the government pays for their leaders including salaries.

  • @kissoonkissoon1355

Salaries of these leaders are the earned incomes. What is more frightening is their unearned incomes whose source is corruption which is evident in the leadership of these countries . I have no issues with these leaders' salaries but their unearned wealth is enormous and a major contribution to poverty in the Caribbean

Where is your evidence? It is up to nations to put measures in place to promote accountability and transparency. I would not argue that there is absolutely no corruption but truth be told the Caribbean does not have a big reputation for corruption like you seen in most African nations and others.

I wish Prime Minister Mia Motley were the highest paid political leader in the Caribbean region because she's a superb communicator on the International stage, especially in regard to climate change, and gun control. She talks about global dilemmas confronting us today and possibly solutions in the rehabilitation process. Furthermore, Prime Minister Motley is a world class political leader because whenever she speaks about global issues confronting us in the Most Develop Countries, the world pays attention.

You believe the PM should not be living in the mansion he now occupies with his family right? “Bad mind worse than obeah” why not state as well that his wife is also developer before she enter representational politics and being in such a position can cut cost in building that mansion but no, you want to assume that building such mansion could only financed by some corrupt practices. I think what shows the integrity of leaders is how they treat the poor and invest in their people and try to understand the difficulties of the disadvantaged, making sure that all have fair and just opportunities. I cannot justify the giant chasms between the average person's salaries to their leaders, when some people cannot even get basic services.

@@antonyanderson_5921 that is very true. My cousin worked at Schulberger Trinidad for a while before being posted to diff places throughout his career. One thing observed with oil nations, their governments always start with the best of intentions with words, but realistically there is ALWAYS corruption. He did say however that you see a very good standard of living amongst most of the people in Trinidad, but they are like spoilt kids. A Nigerian professor i know worked at one of the university there and he did say one of their problems is the gov't gives way too much...they need to control things...free university/half paid by gov't, their policy is they must also provide free health care to ppl in their region & primary education as well. They need to curb some of those things, that had got to hit your accounts. But there is little accountability where corruption is concerned especially in gov't run institutions.

It reveals the difference between 3rd world and the big boys.
Salaries in developed countries have risen too high and too fast.
Many technical and professional workers salaries in North America exceed what these leaders make.
However it's relevant to compare salaries to the countries average salaries.
Maybe the countries' GDP per capita may also be a relevant parameter for salary justifications?

Some people here are being ridiculous. Some of you are complaining because these people are getting more than the average citizen. Leading an entire nation is not an easy job. In fact, it's the most stressful job ever if done right. I do have a problem when the disparity is over 20 times more and so on nonetheless, especially for struggling countries. But, they do deserve a higher salary than the average person. How much higher is the question though, taking the GDP into consideration. And in comparison to some other professions, these salaries are nothing. Yes, there is corruption, but that's a totally different topic. Even your boss gets 5 times more pay than you do, yet you are upset that your Prime Minister or President is getting $1 more than you 😂

    • @Zechariah340
      @Zechariah340 Рік тому +2

      Are you really that dull?
The complaints are because these so called leaders, are hardly doing anything good for their country. I can't speak for the other countries, but I'll speak for my own, which is Suriname. According to this list Surinames president is paid the most. But he has hardly done anything good for this country. I'll admit we are in a deep financial crisis, but he's only made it worse in the 3 years that he's been in power. I won't go further into details.
You compared it to having a boss that earns more than you. If you're working at a company with horrible management would you still work there? Or would you leave and go to a better company.
I agree with you saying that running a country is hard work. But as far as I can tell, our president isn't putting in half the work he should!

He bragged about how much he made already and he's not into politics to scrape but that's further than the truth. Because it was very beneficial with the Finsac and financial meltdown that Jamaican suffered under the PNP administration of former Prime Minister PJ Patterson.

And what do you mean by nobody asked them to serve? Voting for someone is asking them to serve. What we need to do is to make our leaders more accountable. However, the job of itself is hard work.
