    - People probably never pick this up on the first go, but Shale practically drops a big hint on what kind of gifts they would appreciate from the conversation you had with them in the camp earlier
    - to be honest, it's better not to take the deal with "Sophia", as I've seen numerous folk experience a bug that occurs that causes things to not advance properly.
    - the Warden commander set is pretty decent as it not only provides reduction to costs for talents and spells, but also provides some bonus stats and a Regen factor that could benefit sustained talents that gradually drain stamina or mana. Personally however, I gave the warden commander set to Alistair as the set can't be imported into Awakening due to a bug, and there's a much better weapon and armor set to be had for arcane warriors in Ostagar
    - You should pick up everything inside soldiers peak before leaving. If you return after leaving the tower, you will not be able to claim any of the loot you left behind that could be sold for some extra cash. There's also a hidden cache you should check out; the details should be open in your quest log from collecting all the historia of Soldier's Peak

The potion you found adds another set of skills that are unique to your class, theme'd around the darkspawn blood that you have in your body. I don't remember if it is tied to the History of Soldier's Peak side quest, but there is a hidden chest to discover in the peak. I think it is in that room where you fought all the demons towards the end.

You never have to make deals with demon's in DAO -unless you are playing a character that wants to. The game always has another way.

Liera, before you go to Orzammar - go back to the forest. You must collect the armor usw. Orzammar is huge and difficult. I hobe the comet will fall very soon, ha! Now you have the best trader in the game in front of this castle. Important. Don´t forget the drakescales for the blacksmith in Denerim. Great new part. LG

I love this DLC and the lore it provides. I also play as a warrior most of the time so the Warden Commander set is one of my favorites especially sense it can teir up if sold and rebought from a merchant or stored in the party chest then saving and reloading.
If u persuade successfully then u can get Sophia to both tell Levi what he wants to know and close the Veil. U can still kill her after returning from the tower if u so choose.
The human noble origin for DAO actually has a personal connection to this DLC if u choose the right dialogue options with Avernus, u get a bit more lore about the character and their family.
I usually allow Avernus to live and continue his research ethically as well, it's interesting to see if his research will yeld results in a future title.
    Great video as always.

Only 30 years. Hmnnn, makes every day more precious. Everyone you love. Every breath and every little thing, never take care of. Much to do and nothing new. In real life, you can become a " grey warden ". You will never fight a dragon but ....

Ooh, I love the face you make there. That was a subject available to discuss since the beginning of the game. But there were sooo many flames and it was sooo hot that you never really thought about asking. What can we say? Love turns people blind, that's a well documented fact! XD
Grey Wardens always end up the same after roughly 30 years. Well, it's not the entire truth (but Alistair doesn't know the entire truth, Duncan did, the top brass at Weisshaupt Fortress certainly do as well, but they probably prefer to not say anything because the truth is even more disturbing and would render recruiting nearly impossible). If you want the whole truth about the thirty years and how a Grey Warden ends you'll have to read "The Calling". But one way or the other, 30 years and it's the end of the line...
There are other fun surprises that neither you nor Alistair know at that point because Duncan didn't have the time to tell you before dying. So hold on to your knickers because you're not done yet with Grey Wardens secrets. Soldier's Peak barely scratched the surface. Must be killing you, right? :D
    >3:45
That's an excellent question. But I suppose, if he becomes King, it would be the plan, more or less. Alistair is a new Grey Warden, with the 30 years ahead of him. Grey Wardens are not sterile so there you go :D That would certainly be expected of him anyway. And Arl Eamon could do the heir's training, Alistair wouldn't even be needed for that part.
    >4:31
See that's where Alistair is erring. He doesn't care about wondering "why?". I mean, anybody can kill darkspawn, Alistair's own father Maric wasn't a Grey Warden and he killed darkspawn by the dozen himself, most people in your party are not Grey Wardens and they kill darkspawn too. And anybody can kill an Archdemon, after all its just a very big, and scary, darkspawn lizard. If you can kill a High Dragon (you still have to get on that BTW :D ) an Archdemon is just a step above. So as it often is the case, the "why" is the important bit there. If stopping the Blight is just about killing the Archdemon, why nobody can stop a Blight except Grey Wardens? More secrets. :)
    >4:50
I don't think I can agree with Alistair myself. Between dying anonymously in the bowels of the Deep Roads or battling on the surface trying to stop a Blight... I really think the second option is better. At least Duncan died trying to achieve something, not just to "end himself". So yes indeed, it was worthy of him. I don't even know why Alistair suggests it wasn't.
    >9:08
Gossip time! :D While the men are out of ear range, of course... We never get to share that fun! It's sad! Because as amazing as it may seem, men don't have that kind of fun themselves. We don't go gossiping between ourselves about our partners sexual prowess. We never reveal anything substantial about the women we love, even between friends. At least none of the men I've known did, I certainly never did. Don't get me wrong, we talk a lot about "stuff" but the women we love... that's off limits. Women on the other hand seem to share an awful lot of intimate details... :D
    >11:33
Yes and no. For a start, Qunari don't have parents (well, they do have biological parents but the family concept as we know it is foreign to them). They're "bred" (for lack of a better term) and instructed for a purpose since their youngest age. Other people decide for them what they are going to do; they are free to choose within the role chosen for them but not to deviate from that role. Which explains Sten point of view about people wanting to change their lot in life, because nobody told him at some point "what do you want to do with your life?". It was all decided for him as it is decided for all Qunari. That doesn't mean there's no resistance to that kind of life. Some Qunari become Tal-Vashoth (which more or less translates as "traitor") refusing the Qun and its way of life. But that's a story for another time...
I suggest on a future playthrough that you take Sten with you more often to have some deep conversation with him. But you certainly wouldn't like what the Qunari do with their mages :) If you think of the Circle as a prison... it could be wayyy worse. And still, Sten knows you're a mage but treat you normally which is rather open minded of him considering the culture he grew up in.
    >12:37
And that is the only parallel that can be drawn between Qunari and Ferelden mages. You can be happy with what you are and how you live or you can't and even try to escape your situation, becoming Tal-Vashoth or apostate and being hunted because of that.
    >23:34
No. there's only one encounter or none at all. The one you just had was part of Wynne story or it's likely there wouldn't have been any otherwise. For some reason going from anywhere to Soldier's Peak never seem to trigger a random encounter.
    >28:42
Coincidentally, "arbalète" is the current French word for it and you had the right pronunciation too, so I got you! :D "Arbalest" is the old English derived from the old French "arbaleste". Crossbow is the accepted modern term but it shouldn't be used in a medieval RPG. So the mistake is on Bioware, not you! :D
    >29:17
Well, as a warrior, Alistair would certainly be happier with an "arbalest" rather than a bow. :) Crossbows rely on strength, bows on dexterity.
    >58:57
So my personal read here is that Sophia not only despised being a Grey Warden but just wanted to use the warden forces from the Peak to lead a rebellion for her own selfish revenge. She was the reason why the Grey Wardens were banned from Ferelden. Only Maric saw fit to return them to their position in Ferelden about two decades before the events of DAO. It's understood that Grey Wardens do what they need to fight darkspawn or a Blight but they have to remain neutral in all other affairs, especially politics, and especially between Blights. A rebellion against the ruler of a country is a big no-no. I'd say that Sophia broke the Warden's rules but she probably never cared about them in the first place.
    >1:05:12
"The dude's crazy" doesn't mean he didn't actually discover something useful :)
    >1:08:23
Well, technically he is a Grey Warden too so that makes three of you in the room :D And it's only inside Ferelden. There are thousands more Grey Wardens outside of the country, including all those waiting in Orlais to enter Ferelden to fight the Blight but blocked by Loghain at the border because of course Loghain doesn't want more Grey Wardens in Ferelden; you two alone are already a headache for him. So no, it's not just Alistair and you and I think Avernus was thinking about the Grey Wardens as a whole when he said that.
    >1:10:04
Because he couldn't do it alone. The ritual leaves him vulnerable and the demons would have killed him before he could complete it. With you to fight the demons during the ritual, it becomes possible.
Oh, and you forgot that someone looked for answers about his grandmother; kinda the whole reason why you are there after all :D Maybe it was worth asking Avernus, as he was there and knew Sophia...
    >1:15:47
If you're thinking about the halla quest, it requires survival level 2. So he cannot do it anyway with just one point.
    >1:16:27
Nope, 34 for Marjolaine's bow. So close and yet so far! :) Leliana can still use it if she has equipment adding at least one point to her dexterity though, which she certainly has by now.
So I feel compelled to warn you right now before it is actually too late. When you leave the Peak the castle interior becomes inaccessible. After that you only get access to the courtyard (with new surprises -- when you return later) but not to the interior itself. Which means, you won't be able to finish the ancient history quest and of course, you won't have access to Avernus' blood power vial anymore (if you want to use or break it). So you might want to do those two things before leaving the area.
I'm curious to see what you'll do next... Another stroll in the forest or a dive under the stone? We'll see :) Dwarves are a fun bunch but on the other hand you might want to smell the roses before heading toward the Deep Roads full of darkspawn and... stuff 😁
See you next time -- well I'll see you but you won't see me, of course 🤣

Sophia was forced into being a Warden yes but she excelled in the role and rose quickly to Warden Commander. The Ferelden Nobles came to her begging to overthrow Arland as he was a Despotic Tyrant, she didn't need much convincing as she grew up with him and was an heir to the Throne. It just backfired badly
