I've always found it difficult to immerse myself in streamed D&D, even though I try to. With that out of the way, you guys are incredible. Every player, as well as the Dungeon Master, is amazing to listen to. The tone and mood, which to me is extremely important for CoS, is equally amazing. You are all most certainly up there with the best the internet has to offer. I almost want to turn the lights out, light candles and enjoy your game over a mug of ale. And maybe I will. Fantastic stuff guys.
My feelings exactly. I think your decision not to show the faces of the players worked really well. Normally, DnD streams are at least 50% about the players, which for me breaks immersion. Your stream is almost all about the roleplaying. Even though I know the module well, I'm looking forward to the rest. Like everything it’s just practice. I DM for two parties. Group one is new to RP and I find I often have to nudge them into it. Group two has been RPing for years, and I find they role play and entertain themselves so effortlessly I occasionally have to cut in and interrupt them to advance the session, otherwise they’ll practically banter to each other for hours.
I have no idea what the players look like, but I think that is for the best - really helps with immersion. Great, simplified layout, and wonderful job with the voice acting and roleplaying!
Lilisson’s story is rife with symbolism and perhaps a little foreshadowing? The girl who committed murder because she could not accept her anatomical limits. (Symbolically of course) Just started watching, barely an hour into it. Hopefully my focus can stay fixed.
Just finished reading the book, so I wanted to see how a playthrough ran and this is one of the only "by the book" versions I could find. I have to say...it seems like the players were instructed to "bring a spooky story" for the intro session....a brilliant idea! I've always wanted to play an RP-heavy DnD game, but in my years I've never had a chance to find a group that was into RP. I must admit...I was rolling my eyes a little first and wanting to "just get on with it". That being said...even though I'm a CoS novice I can already see how this completely "changes the game" with this module. It is hard to tear myself away! Side note...I've always been a fan of characters...well, not "hiding" their classes. But not being summarized by their class. The whole "Hey, my name is Threemolo, and I'm a Cleric" always seems weird to me. I like how this group handled that. :-)
Tell me about it. Im having fun figuring out thier classes based on the features and skills they use. So far Coimhe barb, amity bard, Aerthrender ranger.
What I love about this so far is the story aspect. As a DM currently running CoS on Roll20, I feel there is a negative side to using the maps and tokens, etc. which I did not foresee. That negative side being bright colors often (which doesn't fit a CoS theme) and a board game-like feel that at times takes away from TOM story-ish gameplay. So I am really enjoying listening to this while I work. It's like listening to a radio theater story somewhat.
I have been meaning to getting around to listening to this while I am prepping for my own CoS games, and 5 minutes in and I am jealous already. This is going to be so good!
Just a little under an hour in, super excited to watch Dragna and the rest go through CoS RAW! All of the players are great, and Metrion so far is my favorite! Lovely voice
Love this, thank you. You all are fantastic! I just have to know, at 1:36:00 how much you struggled to NOT say "Old Svalich Road"? Can't say how many times I've stared at a map and blurted a name the players are not supposed to know! Not that it matters with a group of DMs, but still!

There's a lack of good D&D channels with subtitles PT-BR, and I for one know for a fact that many southern Brazilians absolutely adore gothic horror (World of Darkness is VERY popular here). Thank you for sharing your game with us! The characters' artworks are absolutely lovely. :) I'll be watching.

Just started listening, its exciting to hear this is going to be a by the book play, as a CoS Dm myself, the only thing I am not looking forward to are the book written endings for Ireena. Here for the ride regardless.
I love the descriptions but what really blows me away is all the artwork for the scenes that are not battlemaps. Where did you find so much cool stuff?
@atombrain111 yes, it is a trragedy, in a horrific campaign setting. That's the point, a dark, gritty, depressing world where ultimately all hope has been extinguished and the best you can do is stay alive. The players and I are having a blast running it as such; the way it is meant to be played.
Too much fluff. I really want to get into this, but so far it's been 55 minutes of characters talking around a campfire. Is this Curse of Strahd or campfire tales?
I find the casts inability to stick to a point of view unbearable. The swap between third person and talking about their player, to them talking as their player is nearly seamless. It can be the same person talking, “metrion does this… wow that’s a great introduction you had!”… same sequence of sentences, swapping between 3rd person and 1st person like it’s nothing. I slogged through nearly half of the first episode but I can’t continue, it’s unbearable and terribly incoherent

@@DragnaCarta Wow, impressive. Wish I had players like that! Might have helped that they knew the module and maybe had some idea what was coming that they could anti-metagame on. Thanks for the answer, weird i didn't get a notification from UA-cam about it.
Who is the artist? The chatacter art looks amazing and I'd love to follow them. sorry if it's mentioned in the video, I can't watch it atm cos I'm doing CoS right now and don't want spoilers ;-;;
Art is by @runesael, but I think they went private a while ago, see if you can find anything.
I’ve been looking for a Curse of Strahd campaign to follow and you all blew me out of the water with the quality. The characters are already amazing and I can’t wait to watch more!
None of us are professionals .
All proceed to introduce themselves as dungeons masters who have run and modified CoS lol
Why are there no captions.
I mean potatoes are pretty filling it I think full of a lot of protein and you’re gonna get some good good from the meat so meat and potatoes. Stew could be filling and energizing
Can’t wait to GM Strad for my group just got done with a 6 month campaign
I'm so happy that I found you guys! Thank you for this amazing journey, I love all of the characters and the DM is awesome! I'm so looking forward to your trip through Barovia!
Some of the Dms talk about their twists on the Strahd module (south of america etc.) - I would love to do a feudal Japan, ancient Australian etc. etc. version of Barovia, do they have any notes to read over by any chance?
I highly recommend joining the /r/CurseOfStrahd Discord server and asking! You can find a link to it in the sidebar of the /r/CurseOfStrahd subreddit.
@@DragnaCarta thankyou mate.
Great quality!!
and boring as hell. Realmsmith's campaign is so much better as they have a wide variety of different characters. All these players sound the same and they play the fricking same "sensitive and intelligent" elf character. Total fail.
@@meithstorm7662 ratio my guy. If you don't like good roleplay or recognize the difference between the characters (theyre not even all elves. there are tiefling too) personalities, maybe you don't deserve to?
I'm just starting and as some aleady said in the comments, I'm already so hooked!❤ I love the party... Everyone's voices or ways of speaking is really soothing to me. I love the ambiance... Dagnacarta, thank you for your guides and posts on reddit, you're really helping me run the module ❤(I'm currently 6 sessions in) I'll really listen to the full campaign and it's a rare thing, can't really stay focused long enough, but here, I feel like it's really comfy❤
Btw, I would love to contribute by adding French subtitles 😊
I found this entertaining and well RP’d. That being said, the only real nitpick I had was players asking for rolls constantly….state what you want to do and let the DM decide that! Don’t undermine him and self GM it so much.
Just started listening, its exciting to hear this is going to be a by the book play, as a CoS Dm myself, the only thing I am not looking forward to are the book written endings for Ireena. Here for the ride regardless.
What program are they using? Especially for when they are in the house?
We're using Foundry VTT for the music, maps, and scene artwork! The voices and switching character pictures are through Discord, though.
Oh... this just started. Nice. It's nice to listen to. Thanks!
Just curious of the classes and levels of the different characters...I definitely get a bard vibe from Metrion
My groups farts and laughs… I think we are the non-professionals
I want to play this campaign! Great job guys.
was looking at the character sheets. Curious why Lilissen would dump Con of all things. Seems odd
Well done this is awesome!
Metrion is my favorite. Wow.
The one about Beaty was like a gramma fairytale
Just found this was a great game
Fantastic production. So glad I caught you Saturday afternoon on Twitch. Now I get to enjoy the whole series here!
I love the descriptions but what really blows me away is all the artwork for the scenes that are not battlemaps. Where did you find so much cool stuff?
Almost all artworks are from JamesRPGArt on Patreon :)
We don't see the rolls ? :(
why wouldn't you want to run it with the "full gothic horror intent"? What would be the point?
@atombrain111 yes, it is a trragedy, in a horrific campaign setting. That's the point, a dark, gritty, depressing world where ultimately all hope has been extinguished and the best you can do is stay alive. The players and I are having a blast running it as such; the way it is meant to be played.
I would love to see subtitles for this.
Just once I want to see a campaign of Strad were they say F you to the death house and not even attempt to go in because that’s not their job
LOOT
Why there are no automatic subtitles? WTF?
Hi! For some reason, UA-cam does not want to do automatic subtitles for videos over a certain length, our apologies.
@@rCurseOfStrahd my english sucks(((. Anyway great video and perfect roleplay)
I’m vibing. 35:22 NOOOOO

Too much fluff. I really want to get into this, but so far it's been 55 minutes of characters talking around a campfire. Is this Curse of Strahd or campfire tales?
Aye it's a very roleplay heavy take on it. I personally am enjoying it but it seems like a slow burn for sure
