Screens like this remind me about how in my early childhood I had a little screen that I could strap onto the back of the seat in front of me that I could put a movie into and watch… Man I miss watching Shaun The Sheep in my mom’s car…
My cousins had 3 off these in the back seats for the kids to play during family road trips it was a blast when I got invited to tag along. Especially at night when you couldn't see the Gameboy screens lol.
I remember this because my elementary school tried to use them as a way for us to play educational games for my grade. They were fun, but this didn’t last to long.
I remember really wanting this & the gamecube tv back in the day. But living a rural part of Oregon, you were lucky to even get a virtual boy unless you drove 5+ hrs to the nearest city. Man I wish I could go back
Wow!! Talk about bringing me back. About 14 years ago I really wanted to get my hands on the PlayStation metal gear game my local GameStop had a PlayStation with that exact same setup for sale for $100 and the metal gear game as well. It's crazy that you chose Metal Gear for the game... LOL
I remember seeing one of these when I was like 6-8 years old at a restaurant. My entire life I wondered how they had a screen on a PS1. Thank you for finally answering one of my lifes biggest questions!!!
I had one of these as a kid as we did a lot of travelling in the car, so it worked off a cigarette lighter in the car, genuinely one of the best things I ever had as a kid. 10/10 will pass it on to my kids because I believe its still somewhere at my parents!
I am still the proud owner of this nowadays rare tech. And it is still in working condition. Had it around 8 weeks after my accident back in the day in the hospital to play games to not get dulled kying in there. Was a really saver to be honest
Mine came with a charge base as well. You could charge the base and then power the whole thing wirelessly. I haven’t seen many people who have that extra bit
I remember playing this on my small monitor even tho I had a big tv! I just liked that we could move the ps1 so easy around and it just felt more cool 😎
Aesthetically a 10/10 considering the time and hardware limits.
For real, this thing is so convenient
Nowadays you could probably 3d print a battery pack for it so it's truly portable.
Aesthetically, it literally looks like a toilet
Looks like a giant DS
Polná
There's something I can't describe about portable screens for home consoles
Too little?
@@PatternLand im almost blind xd
@@PatternLand a very big ones
Aspect ratio?
@@SloMustangGT -6 in both eyes
Design back then was so good. This screen literally fits so well with the PlayStation like it was always meant to look like this.
That's because it was. It was the screen they launched with the PSone, it was marketed very much like the Switch was now.
no shit
It wasn’t initially meant to come with the screen but later they decided to. So the engineers who designed the screen were genius!
i remember my cousin bringing his to my house and we would play for hours on the small screen when we had a big tv to play lol
Kids be like that, I remember playing on a RV trailers 9inch black and white screen..just for "fun" lol
saaaame
Loved that game

I had one of these and will never forget playing Tony Hawk and Scooby Doo on it for hours outside.
I love that start up sound. Never had a ps1, but my neighbor did and that sound right before the re3 opening was the calm before the storm.

Man I miss watching Shaun The Sheep in my mom’s car…

I have one as well. Used but very mint!
@@primedarkcriss I also have one 👍😁
I had this setup during oif1 in the early 2000s. It worked despite shrapnel and dust storms.
My cousins had 3 off these in the back seats for the kids to play during family road trips it was a blast when I got invited to tag along. Especially at night when you couldn't see the Gameboy screens lol.
Brings back memories, I feel old now...
Lol, my friend has one of these and we used to play Ape Escape on it
I remember this because my elementary school tried to use them as a way for us to play educational games for my grade. They were fun, but this didn’t last to long.
Dame that brings back memories of the good old days man I miss gaming as a kid was so much dame fun gaming isn’t what it used to be great video man
I still play mine every here and there and even have the car power cable! Was so much fun growing up.
That Sony start up chime my poor old heart wasn't ready to hear that again 😢
I had this and freaking loved it back in the 90's
It was released in 2000...
It was released in 2000...
I wasn't expecting the screen to be of fair quality
I remember taking this when we would go camping. And playing that game too. Damn, this hit the nostalgia button hard
I have a PSone. Wish I knew about these at the time. That's super slick

I remember this well. Still got a One aswell, and a 1,2,3 and 4 lol
I thought everyone knew about this. Still cool, thanks for showing everyone.
I remember really wanting this & the gamecube tv back in the day. But living a rural part of Oregon, you were lucky to even get a virtual boy unless you drove 5+ hrs to the nearest city. Man I wish I could go back

I had one of these. It was great for long family trips.
Man I miss this for real it actually looks pretty damn good too
I have it in my work bag, love it and still have the OG box it’s former owner has
That opening sound
👌👌
I could listen to those clicking sounds coming from the ‘Power’ and ‘Open’ buttons and screen input connectors for hours. So satisfying.
Every single video induces nostalgia... you were warned. Love this shit.
Where my whole gaming life began memories
i remember this omg wish i still had it
I had one of these as a kid. Used it to play Harvest Moon:Back to nature
Buddy of mine in the Navy had this. He could play in his rack. Pretty sweet.
I’m more impressed at how pristine that Metal Gear Solid is.
could be replacement case
It was good for it's times but then PSP came out.
When I saw mgs my first though was Patrick saying I love you
I had this as a kid. I remember playing spec ops co op with my friend in that snowy mission
used to play biohazard 2 with a bad boy like this one back when i was a kid, it's my childhood.
Had it,amazing screen and quality!
I have it in my book bag rn as i go to work with parasite eve 😂
Awesome!
I like how it fits the design of the rest of the console
It's definitely one of the better ones, gotta love the look!
Ah yes I remember being a kid and thinking this was just a myth. Freaking awesome!
I remember pimping that out in the car. Way before phones and tablets it was king for roadtrips
Ah, good times. I remember playing this with the screen on road trips. 😊
If only the PSOne was still in Production, including the LCD screen😭
I first discovered this in Astro's Playroom, I was so confused why they put a screen on a home console that already shows on TV.
Can’t believe they made that thing in astros playroom into a real thing
Imagine how easy it was to carry with you an advanced console back in the time in places like your car!
If I'm ever having a bad day that ps one splash screen always cheers me up.
Iconic sounds 🤯
I still have the screen
That very brief metal gear case glimmer was heaven.
My dad had and still has this thing. I had no idea it was an extension
The game cube also had a kit the year it came out with a screen that attached to the top to make it portable
Best sound ever

I still remember seeing this model ps1 in electronics boutique before it became GameStop. By that time I already had a ps2
I remember there was a banana for 4 players, an adapter for 4 joysticks, and it was possible to play crash racing, during it
Remember a guy living in his car with this on my ghetto ass street as a kid
Searching for one of these on eBay
I had my Eyes on the Indiana Jones DVD the whole time.😂
Was begging my mom to get me this addon when it first released. Didnt happen but at least now i get to see it actually worked.
I have this screen and as a kid I use to play it all the time on long road trips
I had that excat setup back in the day
Old news... bought one 23 years ago, still use it sometimes.
miss those days when i used to bring ps1 to school to showoff
That's cool and all, but I want you to showcase those awesome DVD versions of Dragon's Lair instead
I am still the proud owner of this nowadays rare tech. And it is still in working condition. Had it around 8 weeks after my accident back in the day in the hospital to play games to not get dulled kying in there. Was a really saver to be honest
It came with the box when you got the 10 year anniversary version
Mine came with a charge base as well. You could charge the base and then power the whole thing wirelessly. I haven’t seen many people who have that extra bit
Man that sounds...sso nostalgic
Only for $2000 black Friday deal and for an extra $200 you get an OEM dual shock controller.
Sure you still need to plug it in the wall but it makes playing away from home like in a hotel easier
I had one and it works awesome for road trips
This was my first ever console, good memories
My original Wii console was my first console
Very smart, i still got my original Grey PlayStation with all the outputs behind. My favourite games were Syndicate Wars and G-Police and GTA
For someone still have one of those is amazing
I had this as a kid. I regret not keeping it.
I can hear the title intro to Metal Gear. Do do do do doo doo, do do do doo doo doo.
I had this one as a kid, when the main one was being used by my older brother 😄
The amazing part is not the screen attachment. The amazing part is that it still works.
I always wanted one of these to pair with a 12v adapter for the back of the car as a kid. Never did get one though.
I thought all of these shorts were common knowledge and yet you're presenting it like new information
I have Third Party LC Screen for my PSX and lemme tell ya, it helped out in many a tough situation. Especially waiting in lines at anime cons.
It hurts my brain that people are young enough that things like this are a surprise.
I remember playing this on my small monitor even tho I had a big tv! I just liked that we could move the ps1 so easy around and it just felt more cool 😎
Bro has the Dragon's Lair Trilogy on DVD
It would awesome if Sony released this system again with a new up to date screen and built in hard drive
i used to have one of these! it was the coolest thing ever
They are awesome!
THAT'S THE SCREEN! I had 1 of these when I was younger! NFS in the back seat of the car... hell yeah!
PSOne talking to the Atari Jaguar CD
"You are not alone, I'm also a toilet seat.......!
Damn, I used to have that! Great times.
