    CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Lindsey Salmon (Rose Mclver) breaks into Mr. Harvey's (Stanley Tucci) house and finds a notebook filled with evidence that he killed her sister.
    FILM DESCRIPTION:
Fourteen-year-old Susie Salmon (Saoirse Ronan) is just experiencing the pangs of first love when she's viciously murdered by her neighbor Mr. Harvey (Stanley Tucci), a predatory wolf in J.C. Penney clothing. As her family slowly begins drifting apart while struggling to make sense of their loss, Susie bravely attempts to find her footing in the hereafter. Meanwhile, down on earth, Mr. Harvey is feeling confident that he's covered his tracks well enough to get away with the crime, and begins honing in on his next victim -- Susie's younger sister, Lindsey (Rose McIver), who's beginning to suspect that he's not the harmless suburbanite he portrays himself to be. Director Peter Jackson reteams with King Kong and Lord of the Rings trilogy co-screenwriters Philippa Boyens and Fran Walsh to adapt Alice Sebold's bestselling novel for the big screen.

Actually, in the novel she brought the book home to her dad. Her grandmother and mom were also there. I hated her mom in the book. She literally left the house to go to the store when Lindsey brought the book home. Her dad says to her in the book, "Now do you believe me?" He was happy that Lindsey believed him and found evidence on the rapist pig that killed his daughter, her sister. Only difference is that there was no lock of Susie's hair in the notebook in the book, only in the movie.

Unfortunately, with technology the way it was back then, even with a book full of damning evidence, he was able to go on the run, elude capture, and continue his murderous ways for what I believe was another 13 years (according to the book) before dying in 1987. With today's technology he would have been located and brought to justice within a few months (at most) after being identified as a serial killer.

Yeah, watching this scene, I remembered something I learned from watching this podcast I like to watch that's hosted by a Navy Seal and that's how we rise or fall to the level of our training. She rose to the level of her training because like you said, throughout the whole movie she was jogging every morning. Whereas, Mr. Harvey probably didn't do a lot of cardiovascular exercise, so he fell to the level of his training- which I'm guessing wasn't much.
