It’s beautiful... and a really great design. Must be so nice waking up in a space like this. Just don’t like the curtain separating the bathroom - that’s weird.
A creative design beautifully executed. It works both internally and externally. The inside outside concept which is not over complicated. I’m loving it.
I've loved this house from the first time I saw it on Kirsten Dirksen's video and am inspired to use some of these ideas in an Australian rural home I'd like to build. I'm thinking of how the walled edge can help in mitigating bushfire risk. Such beautiful architecture!
He's a known architect, of course, the price would be higher. Also, credits to all architects out there who are constantly being downgraded for the "design". There's more to it than just a design. Studying all elements of the space and creating a home that the homeowner loves is the greatest price.

When you have to go to such lengths of explanation for your design, then something is wrong with it. It is an epidemic. Architects doing completely radical design just for the sake of radicality. People with the necessary pockets buy in, and here you have a radical home that has issues. Issues with safety, water from the drainage of the sourounding, etc etc. Of course I am talking in general. I can't judge about some of these detailing issues. I can for onrme. For example the seperetion of the bedroom/bathroom with a curtain sounds like joke. Where to begin, where to end? The moisture issues, the bacteria issues, the odours issues? As for the design I don't like what I saw.
This house is like my nightmare. It’s bare, cold, and maze-like. There is a reason why we partition our homes in the shape that we do. Doors, curtains, etc make us feel safe and cozy (like cats sitting in boxes). Also, the bedroom-bathroom curtain reminds me of a hospital room.
DESPITE all the negative comments.A good home lets the owners be as comfortable and as satisfied as they can be.And this home yes home seems to do excatly that for this Lady. She is able to see the mountain and the olives which she so clearly loves and which is probably why she chose to live in such an isolated place. So this house is radical yes but i believe it serves the purpose of a house beautifully.
I fell in love with this house and location when I saw another video about it. It surprises me because it's not normally what I like. But it's entrancing.
Beautiful house. I like how rugged it looks and still blends beautifully within the natural landscape. As well the living room area is beautifully created, quality, simple furniture. Not quite impressed with the bedrooms, they look unfinished, not yet ready to live in.
What a beautiful and interesting house. The fireplace that becomes the dining table is so unique and a great use of space. However, the curtain between the bedroom and the bathroom would have been an absolute no from myself if I were the client. At this point I would have to replace it with a frosted glass panel or something.
The house in itself is a best example of an architect that cares about all aspects and not forcing his identity upon the investors but gently guide them through unknown waters that holds the beautiful port beyond....great work from architect and investors showing that when there's understanding beauty follows even in such a brutalist form at first glance. It's a pity that on majority occasions both parties show more interests in only making money and showing at the same time ....bravo to both parties 😊
Love the thought put into this house. I’m designing a walled courtyard house in Tucson and the similar concepts caught my eye. This typology seems to work well in a hot, arid environment.
Well, you couldn't get a 1930s falling apart house anywhere close to the coast of CA for that price, so that is good. On the other hand, that house looks very much like a Palm Springs (CA) MidCentury Modern House. Most of them look at the over 8,000 ft San Jacinto mountains. Also, the Frank Sinatra Home up on a hill looks a little like that, only 10 times more luxurious. I do appreciate that the architect used concrete slabs to build the house as that is a very earthquake prone area. I hope they put enough rebar to hold up the house. It's really pretty, I think it needs artwork on the walls and it blends with its environment. But most importantly the owners like it and that's ultimately what it is all about.
I’ve seen this house a few years ago and commented on that video. Now I see a power plant junction has been installed in their view of the mountains. What a shame. And something else has been built at their entrance. This looks horrible now to live in. It looks more like a prison more than ever. I bet that unemotional woman is now devastated to have to live looking at power lines and a whole metropolis sprouting up around her property. This will turn into a workers shack for the olive trees workers and then will be abandoned with the olive trees are gone.
Amazed at the people objecting at the price. I was thinking it was cheap by our standards in the US. If you want an architect to construct a custom home, even a 2k sq. ft., it's going to cost, a lot more than 550. And before you tell me that Greek property is cheaper, I've looked into it. It's pretty expensive. Sure, you can build a prefab house in Greece for cheap. Get cookie cutter plans from a home builder. This isn't that. Go and hire an architect and see what I mean.
imo, too expensive for a 200 sqm house in suburban area with cheap/free land cost. Construction cost is about 3 thousand USD per sqm, which is comparable to major cities like New York, Dubai and London. $3K per sqm is the cost of 150 rooms 4-star branded hotel in Dubai.
In California, we pay about $12,000 USD annually, on only 1/24th of an acre. Yes, you read that. For one "slice" of an acre, a 24th of a "slice" is $12,000 annually in San Jose, CA.
Radical is a good term to describe this house. I like the connection with the landscape, but I'm not sure if I would feel at home at this concrete and minimalist place.
Bruh Ngl the comments making it seem like this is some crazy cool house it’s literally like any other modern California house except it’s a triangle.. it’s literally just a triangle 😐
As far as i think the office is cool, its actually pretty depressing as a whole. I get that corporations like these give us products, that may or may not add value to our lives. But these same corporations has gained so much power over the years that theyre able to build an office this expensive to attract more employees which in turn makes them even bigger, and lift up the 1% of the company. All other personnels are sheeps or pawns to this multi billion dollar empire. As much as i think its cringey to call employment with a corporation modern day slavery , it couldnt be further from the truth.

$610k for a 200 m2 house in the middle of nowhere in Greece? C'mon, in most of the UK you can get a comparable house for no more than £250k, and that's despite UK salaries being much higher, a lot higher population density etc.
I don't think this is house is elaborate enough to call it a masterpiece or act like it's special. I've been in houses on video games that we're just as imaginative and you don't see video game architects hailing their work as a masterpiece. The way they talk in the video is quite extra.

It's really not that radical.
Indeed
you guys didn't get it

It’s beautiful... and a really great design.
Must be so nice waking up in a space like this. Just don’t like the curtain separating the bathroom - that’s weird.
I was thinking the same exactly with you...But with the second thought i think that without door is very practical for an older couple.
imagine the smell
the bedroom and bathroom are directly connected to the entrance.
nice touch
I like the way the architect thinks, he takes everything into account, the sun, the place, everything.
The architect of this house is a very wise man. This house is another dimension in the future but also in the past. Few people understand this.
A creative design beautifully executed. It works both internally and externally. The inside outside concept which is not over complicated. I’m loving it.

Not radical at all. Modern Australian architecture has been doing this for the last 50 years.
She said it is a radical house not a radical new idea. And a radical house it is.
Cool! Not sure about the curtain walls but it is supposed to be radical.
I love it, id take it in a heartbeat (and add a solid dividing wall for my ensuite masterbathroom)
Trying to re create this here thanks for inspiration

Not a big fan of this house, but the lady's accent is very special. Refined, smooth and elegant.
from the sound of it, I'd say she was educated and lived in England a long time.

Every roof covered like this is a cool world
I like it but the other side of my head keeps pointing out that its not an equilateral triangle
