- In this video I give a full in depth tour of the new 2011 BMW 335is Convertible. Twin turbo straight 6 with sport tuned suspension, exhaust, unique body, and much more. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this car while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.
Thanks again to Hendrick BMW for allowing me to film this vehicle! for more information on this one as well as others visit www.hendrickbmw.com
I love this car. All the features take some time getting use too, yet it's all worth it for the overall end experience. A modern gem.
little that they know the engines in these cars have become one of the most iconic engines BMW has ever made
This is a very beautiful convertible! BMW has never ceased to impress me. My dad got a 328i a couple months back, and it is also very nice like this one. It is basically the same as this one, with the only difference being that it doesn't use paddle shifting for the manual mode Also, I really like the fact that they offer a hard-top option for these. I think it looks more professional, and it will make people think it is a coupe when the top is up. Simply put, BMW makes great cars!
This comment lol
@@LVDomobro said the 328 is the same 💀
Good review and thorough walkthrough of the 335is. One inaccuracy: the SPORT button does not affect the suspension. It activates "driving dynamics control" which enables 1) optimal use of the engine's speed range; 2) faster gear changes; 3) more spontaneous engine reaction to accelerator pedal movements.
Thank you for revving the car when the oil temperature was warmed up. Most don't know and rev it or push it and then complain about their turbos failing early.
NorCal Rider what if you live in a colder climate?
Ryan Tallas this situation he depicted WAS in a colder situation, do you let your car warm up on a hot summer day?
After i got the 335is i put a tune on it and..... WOW! With RWD and manual this thing has been one of the best cars I owned. Although maintenance has been a nightmare and IDGAF.
Adam S what has been he most pita and average cost to fix the problem
Just did a thermostat that cost 400$. Plugs and packs every 20000 miles and there are around 800$.
looking at a 2011 335i as we speak. I'm ready to pull the trigger but looking for the right combination options for a 2011-2013. trying to find which car has which is breaking my head lol
Brian Roldan Did you buy it?
@Adam S that was with labor tho right and not DIY?
Those rare times when a BMW has their blinkers on.
I just knew someone would comment this
If I get a bmw and I got LCI lights best believe you’ll see my blinkers on
Got this baby brand new in 2011...still love it!
You were wise to snap one up.
I love how the engine sounds at 14:47
Just beautiful! Noone should ever dislike kyle's videos. He puts too much time into recording and editing these videos. He deserves more subscribers too.
test drove it today at Alexandria,Va BMW.. its a coupe though.. omg once you get this car you will never want to look at another car again!! gorgeous!!!
I think german engineers reached their pinnacle in sport, comfortable, and luxurious(mostly sport) in regards to it's classy elegance that dates back to the e28. I think this is the last car, to really have done absolutely amazing. I mean overboost? To 370lbs torque? Absolutely awesome. I purchased a 13' e93 328i because of the car in general n my budget lol
how much cheaper will they be in about 1 year or 2 years
I want this car so fckn baaaad :( It's 24k used. 4 more months baby, 4 more months.
24k how many miles? I just bought a 2013 2 weeks ago
Shannon Suber 2013 isn't the N54 motor.
IsoHD N54B30 (240 kW version)[edit]
A variant of the N54B30 with higher power and torque (but a slight reduction in low rpm torque) is used in the F01 740i[6] and E92 335is.[7][8]
Applications:
2008-2012 F01 740i
2010-2013 E92/E93 335is
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_N54
P.S. I have the car and have bought parts for it including having it tuned so I would know.
x JayAyeWhy got it ?
Did you get it
You really have been stepping your game up lately (Didn't think that was possible haha). Thanks again for the quality videos I was quite interested in purchasing a car similar to this and you seem to know more than the salesman!
Kyle, for the amount of details and information you give on your videos nowadays, I personally think you should think of purchasing a new camera that shoots in 1080p. The viewing experience would be much more pleasurable. Anyways, thanks for these great videos. :]
"all new" damn am i late to the party! xD
I am super loving mine. just bought one, amazing car
My favorite auto reviewer!
today a 335is came in to our BMW dealership in ontario canada for service with hendrick/charlotte plates on. must have been quite a drive.
The video is misleading, the partition for the trunk can be lifted to allow for 12 cubic feet, 1 more than the coupe has, or 7 cubic feet when the partition is lowered. Decent space for every-day use. Basically you can fit some medium sized luggage when the top is not lowered, or 2 small suitcases (airline overhead bin sized) when the top is down.
It's funny how the 335is models for 2011 had the N54 TT motor while the standard 335i got the twin-scroll N55. The former was also put in the 1M instead of the latter. Really goes to show that a) the N54 is the better engine for performance-leaning setups, and b) how BMW these days are gearing more for efficiency and economy more so than performance. Makes me sad.
Correct.
Great walk through! I love that they went back to the twin turbos for the IS. I have an '08 335i, and love the N54! Valvtronic, would be nice... but I sure don't skip a beat!
Great job Kyle, Keep up the great work on your videos!
This is an excellent review ! Rare to find nowdays.
You my friend, are a good car salesman.
Your videos are getting better and better !!
Kyle has the BEST reviews
yee this was filmed on my birthday! Beautiful car Kyle! Thanks!
@AtanasiuGabriel
There are no Golf GTD or 4-Motions in the United States. Only Petrol/Diesel Golf and GTI; all of which are FWD.
The outline of the headlights looks a bit weird! Like it's got a bit crinkled!
thats cool how all the roof panels meet in the middle before going in the trunk
But you still have to insert the key fob below the starter button unless you opt for the "Comfort Access Keyless Entry" option which allows you to just have the key in your pocket or bag to start and enter the car, as shown in this video.
Kyle you should do demos of the headlight washers and older cars with headlight wiper blades
@mailtostu Yes. They have V8's not V6's all six cylinder Bimmers are inline
ultimate driving machine, who own it is a happy man
@Liamcardtricks The manual option is available for many BMWs but the majority of the BMWs ordered and purchased are automatic. BMW does have a great manual shift feel, smooth shifter and easy to operate clutch.
@heemoii Inline 6's have their pistons arranged 6 in a row. V6's have 3 on one side and 3 on another. Inline 6's have perfect primary and secondary balance making them ideal for smoothness. V6's lack that balance and smoothness but have superior packaging.
@CompaqCQ5504 bmw offers a trim level that is called "m package" which in essence gives you an M bodykit as well as M logos throughout the car, to "up the feeling" on the car, not necessarily a genuinely functional performance upgrade though.
the bmw vids are the best keep up the great work
the transmission is honestly exactly the same as any other automatic car. you have:
P, R, N, and D stacked on top of each other. how is it confusing???? because the actual lever pivots instead of sliding?
dude i was just checking this car out on another video
its one of the features of the M sport package, you can get it on any 3 series
hey kyle, can you do a video of the old cayenne? that's parked in front of the bmw? Thanks alot
I'm amazed this has nav but doesn't have an HK audio system. I thought that in order to get nav you had to get the HK.
@Liamcardtricks im not sure what youre talking about.... Beside for the vast majority people rather drive automatic esp in the city. Most people who drive manual cars for their everyday cars are car enthusiasts which is the low population of us.
@saabkyle04 Lol, 335is means it's not the normal 335i. It comes tuned with all the M-Sport goodies
I love how i just liked the video... but i dont like it... I LOVE IT! Thanks Kyle! I lOve BMWs
Very nice! But you forgot to demonstrate the function where the top moves out of the trunk so you can reach your stuff in the trunk. You have to push the trunk button twice (press and hold on second push). It's a neat feature but I've never used it. lol I would have rather preferred the whole top to lift up by several inches to give clearance.
BMW needs to keep up with the competition!!
That "Halo" flicker at 3:22 is one cool effect...y'know- this wouldn't be apparent (nor would the computer screen top-down lines you so often see on TV shows) if [you] used a recording camera that used actual film rolls instead of a digital system like the/a CCD or CMOS video converter. So, The More You Know!!
Haven't even watched it yet but can already know it's gonna be a good video. :)
Funny how I was searching for this car and run into this video right when you post it, lol
Kyle, can't you do something about the wind noise? Sometimes it gets so noisy it becomes hard to listening to what you're saying. Have you tried using a mic connected to the camera?
Amazing car, and another great review, do more you should do more BMW's
great review! good job!
@fastcard100 If you have to ask... but seriously it starts at 60K and this one has the M sport package and other stuff so I'll say 65ish?
I have always loved BMWs! Hopefully in a few years I can get one for my first car. Thank you for the video, will you be able to do the 3 series sedan???
why is there an m emblem on the steering wheel? it doesnt even have an m package.
this car is a beauty
i see it has power locks... but does it have power bagels?...
I test drove of of these before I got the M3 V8. Visually stunning vehicle! Hard to appreciate how fantastic this car is. An absolute STEAL at the moment. The 335i sans is also fabulous! For my taste the E90 M3 Vert was about the pinnacle of perfection. Just glorious. I miss it very much. Either car amazing. Best if you have some mechanical ability.
Hey kyle see if you can find an up to date Mercedes CL model to tour I'd really appreciate it
Very nice video!
actually you are correct, for now. The new M3 that will come out in a couple years (f30) will be a tri-turbo V6
I got the coupe with 6mt and I love love love it!
You should really do a M5 next, just a suggestion.
Thank you for your video. Is there a trunk pass through?
@fastcard100 I just went to the BMW website to find the exact price for you and sadly it will be 70K with all the bells and whistles shown in the video, as it is has pretty much every option you can get for this car.
Kyle, u should come over to the UK to test some european vehicles & diesels!!!
Love the videos, gotta say dude you hold that little camera damn well steady ! Id be shaking like ADHD
What’s the difference between a 335i and 335is
@applesmnch2 In my experience, girls like convertibles in general so long as they aren't cold, most guys on the other hand tend to appreciate them most on quiet roads, not for showing off but for the novelty of having no roof.
There's nothing like driving in the dark with nothing above you or on a leafy route experiencing the sights and smells. Sat in traffic however you might feel uncomfortable, but I guess that's what these new folding hardtops are for.
@AbiCalypse2012
I highly agree Abi, the Alpine White color looks absolutely amazing, especially with all of it's wonderful features, infared keyless entry and power window and sunroof lock. Just look at the ///M badging and 335is in the dash, paddle shifters, 3.0 L Twin Turbo V6, 320 HP, 0-60 in a tick over 5.0s, overboost 375 lbs of torque, beautiful interior, BUT for $56,000, Gotta go with that 2011 Competition Package M3.. but that's when I can afford one, for now, this is just perfect!
very nice looks awesome, next please new 5 series generation.
The backseat legroom is less than the coupe right? The coupe actually has good backseat legroom a friend has it.
the price of this one?
And between BMW X3, MB GLK and Audi Q5 what's the best?
I have this the 2011 coupe, but mine doesnt deep when i unlock it!! how can i make it deep?
i noticed the steering wheel has the m3 logo...was that just an add on
@rforracing Haha, agree. What's wrong with the ordinary PRND-movement of the shifter... not complicated enough?
which Bmw is better M3 or 335is? it look same body but different in the front
It has the M3 "sport package" My friend has the same package on his 2010 335i sedan.
how much is the current price?
Im impressed after seen this BMW 3 series convertible. Much modern stuff and funny things like the navigator or the nice sound and the look of it. FANTASTIC. And im not a fan of BMW... either a european cars fan. ;)
this is my dream.Only i will change the color in Sapphirschwarz o Spacegray
how much is currently the second hand 100.000-150.000 km 335is convertible
2:33 Voice crack..But your videos are the best :DDD XDDD
Dude you should do a review for 2006 or newer clk
I like the hardtops better than the soft tops.
blacked out grill and different exhaust please
Very sexy car. Thank you BMW for not covering the entire engine bay in plastic. ie. Lexus
do all 2011 335i have push button ignitions?
it is mostly personal preference (and budget)
@JoshJW11 Yes, its ok getting used to something like a new navigation system. But this is something that could be kinda critical if you had to quickly turn around or something... but thats just my opinion.
@Liamcardtricks What do you mean? A big percentage of cars on saabkyle04's channel are automatic. He live in the USA.
Did you build it yourself?
It's actually an option that all of the cars Kyle has done seem to always have.
I would hate to be in a busy parking lot backing out of a space and people are waiting for me to take the parking space and i have to do all that shifting with that extremely complicated gear shift, its just too much...
People were saying on the VW video yesterday that, that was a true German car. I'm pretty sure this is a true german car.
damn i want this car
