Um very impressed Jack, mucho garcias! I got it for Edie in Holly's van, it was around fifty bucks. Used it at least a year, just left it on monitor loop, when key was turned on if I remember right. If something happened, I had to remove SD and use PC to see what was on it. Back in the van it will go. BTW, I gave it to you to keep, IF you fixed it. I thought that you might get a kick out of it, did you try it in the car? Its camera is fair, but still kewl. It's a good idea, especially if a cop gives you a ticket, lol. I will gorilla tape the power cord to it just in case it gets yanked again. Great job, you the soddermeister! 73, Don
No problem Don. No I did not try it in the car...just in the office after fixing it...yes a dash cam is a great idea for many reasons...I do use one on trips...mainly just encase accidents...have a video witness. ~Jack, VEG
How do you clean up those bridges, I have de solder braid, looks like thats what you used, would be nice to see a video on how you clean up something that intricate, and small..
I apologise, did not get notified. If you have pins connected with solder, then just quickly take your solder iron and rake across the pins, that should break up the solder bridges but yet keep solder on the pins only, you may need to rake several times dependant on how hot your iron is and how slow / fast you rake. If you have an abundant amount of solder, then use your braid to clean up then try re-soldering. Hope that helps some, good luck! ~Jack, VEG
Wow... I know this video is older but I hope you see this. I have a 10 inch vantop h610 and I need to remove the glass from the case like you have, but I don't see a single screw. Is it possible that its just clipped together? Do I just carefully separate with a plastic pry tool? Should I start in a certain area or anywhere. I know you don't have it but just your opinion would be great.... thanks
@@nataliemillan2826 sorry nope, I made it worse trying to solder out the old usb connection. I bought another one but a month in and same problem as the one before, fuck this shitty product
Bom dia, estou no Brasil me chamo Júnior estava com o mesmo problema não vejo a hora de chegar em casa para abrir e arrumar minha câmera, Parabéns pelo vidio, e obrigado por compartilhar tudo de bom para vc. Obrigado.
8:47 Pretty amazing, I did'nt realize that you can just blob something that small then clean out the 'bridges', otherwise you'd need a soldering tip the size of a sewing needle, I don't even know if they make such a thing..
Hello, you can help me please the screen of my hd mirror cam went blank and I can not see what it records, but the camera if it records and takes pictures on the card. Thank you for the help and for a certain good video
Howdy!Challenging to say without looking at it, however its plausible the back light went out, but generally those would burn out slow and not immediately, could be a loos back light wire connection, could be a component that went bad? Could be your LCD screen went bad. If you hole a light up to the screen can you see anything? If you can the it wouldn't be the LCD screen, it would be a back light issue. Depending on whats wrong with it, it may not be worth the cost of repair, taking in the cost of parts and labour, maybe cheaper just to buy a new one.~Jack, VEG
Had the the camera not even three month, I have the same problem as the your video. Where's the best way to start to open it? All the time I thought it was the 12V charger not making contact.
Omg, I am having the same exact issue with the one I got. Didn't even get to use it bc the plug casing wasnt attached good and it pushed right in. I'm so happy I found your video!! So I opened mine up and lined up the plug, plugged it in and it works. When sodering it, is it ok to get it on the lil metal prongs or no, just on the metal casing? Wasnt sure if it did get on the prongs or connectors [not sure proper term] that it will still work. Hope you understand what I'm asking , lol. Thanks
Howdy! Make sure you have no solder brides between the pins...meaning solder only on the pins....if you have pins connected with solder, then just quickly take your solder iron and rake across the pins, that should break up the solder bridges but yet keep solder on the pins only, you may need to rake several times dependant on how hot your iron is and how slow / fast you rake. Bought the HDMirrorCam to give to my son for his birthday (which was a few month's away) several months ago now. After I sent it to him he informed me he already had one and would send it back to me. He did eventually. I put it on the shelf when it came and never opened it. A few weeks ago I decided I might as well put it on my car. My son informed me that I needed to insert an SD card so it could record and it had to be formatted. I open it, installed it over my mirror and called my son who was going to walk me through formatting the SD Card. Plug in has red light when I plug it into the cigarette lighter...little blue and red light at top of Mirror Cam....when you push "power" (or was it the gear) you're supposed to get a "yellow light". No yellow light ever comes on. So now what???? Mirror's useless if you can't get it to record.
2:11 did you just... say "1.665 WORKING hours"? I hope that was a slip up because that's Watt hours, not working battery life. That's 3.7v * 450mAh = 1.665Wh. Sorry, not a very good electronics "geek", mistaking Wh for anything other than watt hours...

My first thought was that is a big soldering iron for surface mount repair.
if don't have solder set can you use just glue instead ? just asking
Is there a delete button for the SD card on the divice??
