As a "bloody Yank" as someone wrote earlier, I wish they would post more videos of current operations. I share them with friends to show them what the military forces of other countries are capable of. The Royal Marines are very capable.
@78thJune early october i phoned up and had presentation than month later i was supposed to have my psychometric test but it was delayed as i did not have full documentation only had discharge papers plus they need to get ok from plymouth to process application as im classed as a rejoin having previous experience with the army. Applications can vary from AFCO average about 6-7 months i hear to process application, just depends on how ready the applicant is and the afco.
I'm interested to see if I will ever get to meet any Royal Marines. I ship next July 1st for U.S. Marine infantry, and from there I will be given an opportunity to become a Force Recon or Force Battalion Marine. Force Recon Marines are pretty much the equivalent of Royal Marines.
@otherjj1 I'm going through my application process at the minute, applied a couple of months ago...I heard that there are big waiting lists (approx 1.5-2 years) for a lot of ratings in the Navy. Marines still have regular intakes though. As far as i know anyway!
@andyloandylo The waiting list for Marine RT is getting pretty long, Your looking at 12+months from stating the application to entry, and thats providing you pass all the Pre-joining fitness requirements first time, then all the fun starts of RT which is just relentless!
@maizematt Yeah since that comment I actually got 0321, or Reconnaissance Man contract, and so basically in order to become a Recon Marine you have to go through the 13 week bootcamp, 8 week SOI / ITB training, and then the 10 week Basic Reconnaissance Course (BRC). After that you receive additional specialization such as airborne, scout sniper, combat diver, etc. and then will receive "on-site" training after that. So Recon Marines--not regular Marines--are on par with the Royal Marines.
@maizematt For Recon you don't have to have experience, but the majority usually do a lateral move after they have been in for a while. So for guys like me that are able to go straight into training, you are put into Recon Battalion, or pretty much the reserve and after a while you can be put on the Force Recon teams. Also, I didn't mention the 2 week indoctrination process or the multi-month training platoons you are put in before your actual Recon training.
I'm 11 and I'm hoping to join the royal marines But my dad says I have to join through uni and be a top officer but I also want combat does a captain or major still go to combat and carry a l85a2/sa80a2 not just a sidearm
Well i said which is better the RAF Regt or Royal Marines. You should also have noticed it was a year ago when i knew nothing of the Armed Forces and what the rockapes really did.
Speaking for myself only, my experience in the Marines was trust had to be earned from the vets. That was accomplished by time and effort alone.

No, you seem quite educated and aware of other countries capabilities unlike some people I have seen on youtube.
They dont see a new guy? hahaha! lies!
They see a "sprog" ; D
Nah they do see a new guy

@cmoz88 I forgot it was a requirement to die when you join the Royal Marines, I wish you told me before I signed my name... damn!
can not wait till i can go in the army just 2 years away
@RyanHumpy okay, thanks mate.
@RyanHumpy what check in your medical test?
@MetalMatt2510 When did/will you apply?
Wah
is there a regular role for the royal marines or is it just territorial please answer
I'm 11 and I'm hoping to join the royal marines
But my dad says I have to join through uni and be a top officer but I also want combat does a captain or major still go to combat and carry a l85a2/sa80a2 not just a sidearm
@Armageddon0mega I did not mention the fact you have to do 2 years service as a regular marine then you pick a specialist
@MetalMatt2510
cheers! =)
@Armageddon0mega Not unless they do 32 weeks training mate. USMC is good but not as good as the Green Beret
@andyloandylo Forgot to say, i have applied for Marines and it has gone smoothly so far i.e. no longer than usual waiting periods.
Well i said which is better the RAF Regt or Royal Marines. You should also have noticed it was a year ago when i knew nothing of the Armed Forces and what the rockapes really did.
@benharveymsn what was your run time?
Probably be at Lympstone in 7 months all being well with application.
@RyanHumpy oh yeah, sorry for the bad grammar, i was in a rush lol
i heard the navy has stopped recruitng, is it true?
please tell me it is not!!!!
@crouchtrac Na mate, just don't wanna die before I'm 30.
all royal marines start as general duties marines :)
Wonder what Aaron is doing now, he featured in this video xxx
In America apparently
Which is better RAF Regiment or royal marines,since I'm really considering the armed forces but can't decide between them
RAF are tier 3 soldiers and Commandos are tier 2, I recommend if you're smart join the RAF, if you really fit join the Commandos.
@cmoz88 please drape it in a union jack and show me respect because to me respect is almost worth dying for.
Both
@GIProductionz completed the first mile 1/2 in 11mins but failed the second mile 1/2 by 10 seconds
@crouchtrac unlucky mate.
@zakariya jama
stupid question
pliz hire me
Commando training is much tougher.
I'd rather sit in my bedroom and play COD tbh.
