You shouldn't use defender gear on 1st playthrough, it's more a speed run armour and weapons to get to the dlc faster, if you have the dlc and start it you're gonna feel the difficulty of not having OP gear
I feel like I'm struggling with even the defender gear. Off video I'm still trying to learn more about the game, crafting, etc. with a group of friends. Once I feel more confident I plan on switching. I'm still too much of a button masher, need to get more skilled in how to use the different weapons.
@Setharus the thing is, the longer you wait to switch the more difficult it's gonna become when you do, and once you get to the dlc there is no defender gear to carry you and the dlc is where the real game begins, base game is just a tutorial so having weaker gear will help with the button mashing problem since you won't be taking hits like you do now without it costing you,, but you play how you want, this game takes time and if you need to take time to learn everything you do that I'll definitely watch the journey
