Mental health and drug abuse continues to impact millions of people from all walks of life. Often drug abuse, trauma and depression are tied together and either mistreated or avoided. Families don’t necessarily know how to help loved ones come out of their dark place. In this episode, Coach Mike Bayer introduces several new concepts from his new book, One Decision. He takes Tom through his journey and reveals his experience with drug abuse, discovering his homosexuality, and what it took to get committed, find a new perspective and create his best self. Mike regularly appears on Dr. Phil, and has walked away from serving the entertainment industry to better serve people he connects with to guide them from discovering their trauma, surrendering, and making the one decision that will create a better life worth living.

    QUOTES:
“The universe from my experience creates a window if you do want to change, if you do want help a window is created. Now it may not be the window you want and it may not be the fabulous drapes that you want to open up, but there’ll be a window. Because all of a sudden your mindset is believing there is a window and it believes that you can change.” [10:56]
“A lot of people have shame or secrets about how they look at themselves and their life and they don’t want to tell anyone, they don't want to tell anyone what keeps them up at night, they don’t want to tell anyone what’s haunting them and if you show up in a setting to get help, that is the window” [14:14]
“When you want to change you have to be fully committed [...] that’s what I’m willing to do when I want to change” [21:37]
“The thing I love about people who are struggling is you can see their light turn on real quick. I selfishly love seeing people’s light turn on. You cannot see that physically [...] but you can get someone’s light to turn on who for the past 6 months has been f’ing miserable” [30:42]
“When you’re able to kind of laugh at yourself even when you’re suffering, it starts to shift” [31:16]
“I had this moment where I was like, why am I trying to get famous people to do what I want to do. Like how cool would it be if I became my own vehicle” [52:31]

    notes:
    - Making one decision to change life to live true to yourself
    - 100% commitment
    - visualize daily your best-self (give it a name with characteristics)
    - show up as your best self and let go of the outcome
    - know your anti-self which stands in your way (give it a name with characteristics)
    - obstacle -> opportunity -> one decision -> (let go of) outcome
    - doing what you want that feels good even if it's not easy

His point on your perspective shaping your life runs so deep. It goes beyond what you consciously choose to focus on and actually builds the natural default habit of positive perspective.

Louise Hay shook me to my core when she asked what the purpose of our lives was...I knew helping people who are deep in the struggle was apart of that, but I didn’t quite know how to word it. Mike stated mine to a literal T. 31:00-31:30.
Tom.. you’ve rapidly become an immense positive force in my life. I’ve been in the struggle for years and missed many windows of change. Not this one. Truly truly truly thank you both.

Hey Tom! Amazing as always. Here's a constructive advice for you: come back with the epic intros. Those introductions that you used to do they really helped us to get an idea of who the person you are interviewing is (and also they made us even more excited and attentive to the interview). I know it takes a lot of effort to create them, but in my view (and you can ask other people about it) they take the interview to another level. Please, consider this. Anyway, thanks for being amazing and for sharing this so valuable content!

I choose to live a life that I am suppose to live. right from this day I am fully commit to being extraordinary! ,nothing will side track me. whether or not the sun comes up tomorrow, Or whether or not the earth stops spinning on it's axis I am fully committed to be the best version of myself.

I heard someone say today: when heart is pure and mind is clear, the truth is near. And when you think of a hero, know that you’re the one and the ego is zero. “Don’t think you are. Know you are.”

The head spinning on the picture & mans voice coming out of the girl was no illusion. Demonic activity.

Is it just me, but are the mid interview adverts disturbing the flow of the interview? 🤔

Getting really annoyed at the end when Tom asks. Before I ask my last question where can people find you!!? Seriously 20 yrs ago okay make sense. It's 2021 I'm pretty sure we all know where to go to. Can u pls ask another question instead of that one. Just my humble opinion 🙃

You should do your ad crap at the first. I think it ruins the flow of the conversation when you do during it.

This guy’s ego got in the way of his message. It was painful to listen to so much self-congratulation from someone claiming to be about helping others.
