Hi guys! Let me just share to you a short story. We own a cookie shop business in our college town. When we first started it, we just graduated college and were living in our car with very little direction, just a huge passion to be successful. I started it out of a local bagel shop in their off hours at night with my boyfriend, Bran. It was a crazy experience but it worked! We became a success! And how we have our first storefront location (a second one currently under construction but launching soon!) We started it to fund a year long backpacking trip around the world and to be successful while living the life of our dreams.

Hi Tom, I have been watching and listening to you for a few years now, and absolutely love your content, and the way you interview your guests. You attract to your stage - and a stage is what it is - the best of the best. You have a lovely way of asking great questions, really listening to the answer, and then building upon it. You show interest in all of your guests, and clearly genuinely want to know something of what they know. Yes, yes, keep up the great work. I really appreciate you!

What he's describing at the 40-minute mark can be described in detail but it would take far too long. If you're reading this comment I recommend you dig as deep as you can into what he's explaining at the 40-minute mark. The faculty of the conscience, the ego, the memory, the heart passion, the intellect. We have faculties within us and our technology is getting to a point where we will soon be able to display them like a spectrum of color

I can tell you that as person who is 62 but for a lot of reason, I am trying new things everyday:
Divorce at 60 (25 years marriage).
Younger children, one in college, one finishing Musical Theater at a boarding art school and accepting colleges in NYC (eventually moving my daughter to NY)
    Single mother and single provider
    Try to sell my rentals
    Continue with my Poshmark account
In the process of creating a blog, and working on my instagram,
    Learning math, Wordpress and
    Trying Chinese (very hard )
Writing seriously, first time in my life.
Changing my diet to a plant base diet
Training to run everyday and do some resistance exercise that I feel like I am 40sh.
And what is really creepy is to start seeing people that are from 50 up so set in their ways, that are aging mentally really fast.
The first thing you notice is that the curiosity disappears and the body is going down the hill.
Specially in a country with obesity and with one old adult for household, living alone, the deterioration is real and scary.
And then, how older people are treated in nursing homes like people with no brain is the worst....

Simple mind hack for pleasure and motivation for your consideration
Procedure: Consistent alternation between a resting protocol (e.g. mindfulness) and the pursuit of meaningful behavior will increase motivation and positive affect (arousal and pleasure).
Explanation: Resting elicits opioid activity, or feels pleasurable, and meaningful behavior, as defined as behavior that has branching novel and positive outcomes (writing that great novel or just making the bed) elicits dopamine activity which causes arousal. The awareness of subsequent meaningful behavior while engaging in relaxation protocols such as mindfulness elicits a ‘priming’ response, namely dopamine release that increases opioid activity, and vice versa, making meaningful behavior seem self-reinforcing or ‘autotelic’. This procedure can be derived empirically, demonstrated personally, and emerges logically from an analysis of peak or ‘flow’ experiences.
More granular detail on the neuroscience behind this in the little open-source book on learning theory below, and from the work of the distinguished affective neuroscientist Kent Berridge, from whose work this procedure is derived, and who also was kind to review and endorse my work linked below.
‘A Mouse’s Tale’ Learning theory for a lay audience from the perspective of modern affective neuroscience www.scribd.com/document/495438436/A-Mouse-s-Tale-a-practical-explanation-and-handbook-of-motivation-from-the-perspective-of-a-humble-creature ( Explanation of procedure on pp. 108-115, and an analysis of the flow experience on pp.146-149)

I don't believe that humans have free will in this form of logic that as humans we can assume our actions/choices etc.take responsibility for them all etc. However FREE WILL is to be able to make any choice/ create anything that has never been thought out. All our choices are in relation tho the subjective box in which we live in. Most people would not want to accept this logic but the fact of the matter is that it's what it is.
NO ONE CAN CHOSE outside of the subjective box.
Btw i have seen and heard out this idea that we can never make free will choices and to go a little deeper this makes it that in most cases we are not responsible for what we do because of this subjectivity. This said can one imagine say for example killing someone than being told that you're going to court but just to discuss the matter because further that that you are NOT responsible for what you did?
This would make no sense logically in the judiciary system we live with/in. The world would be chaotic. I don't think that the moment a society accepts to live this way that it would last much longer.
Type of discussions i really enjoy, much thanks once again for this project. Quite a motivational blessing
